My pc would not play FFXVI and my memory kept depleting. Took it in and they suggested I get a SSD hard drive. Price was maybe $400 for everything. After telling me it was done and I picked it up I saw they forgot to keep my old hard drive installed so they had to redo that. Then, they forgot to fix my old memory issue, so again had to redo that. But, wasn't much of a hassle, no pushback when I explained what was left undone and took maybe an hour? I left happy and would go back, especially as I suck with computers. What I most liked was that Ingot 30 days free pc service after my visit. I used it as my games still were crashing and that is what actually fixed my problem. Had to reinstall my boarder shading a specific way. read more

I had a hard drive failure, & NOC was the address I was given for an online business I wanted to use. I didn't realize it was a drop off location for an out of state data recovery service. The two front staff members were very pleasant & helpful. I described the clicking noise & disconnects that signaled a hardware failure. At two points in the interaction, a more senior, supervisory staff approached and said "99%" that they could fix it there at the shop. After agreeing to pay the $99 service fee, they later called me and said it was a mechanical problem, and would need to go to the service provider I originally planned on using. They are only able to fix software issues. I feel that quoting an almost certain chance of fixing my drive was very deceptive. I am giving this business 2 stars instead of 1 because the initial contact staff were good. I do not recommend this business. read more

Saturday 9:35AM: My desktop PC is running so slow. Task Manager shows the C: drive is pegged at 100% R/W. Uh-oh, my ship is taking on water! ( This is my business PC ) Saturday 10:04AM: I start searching on the Best-Buy website for a replacement PC. I need this PC for my Monday morning online meetings. Saturday 10:33AM: I walk over to my neighborhood Nerds On Call on Madison near Kenneth. I ask if they can pull my E: drive from my ailing PC and add it to the PC I plan on buying. NOC suggests that I bring the PC in so they can run some diags. Saturday 10:38AM: I took the PC in and NOC set about to do their own assessment of my trusty ol' PC. Saturday 12:42PM: NOC called. Good news/Bad news.... The good news is that the C: drive is in good health. The bad news is that the E: is about to draw it's last breath. NOC said they could put a new "E:" drive on the machine and then they could attempt to get all the data from the old E: drive but it could take the better part of a week....there's a lot of stuff on that sick drive. I asked that they go ahead with replacing the E: drive. Since I have online backup software, iDrive, I would handle restoring the data to the new E: drive. NOC said that sounds like a good plan to them. They said I could pick up the PC in about 10 minutes. Saturday 1:27PM: My PC is back in my office and reconnected. I start the iDrive restore process to the new E: drive. iDrive estimates that the restore will take just over 47 hours. I'll probably have to postpone my Monday meetings. Sunday 4:12PM: I check on the progress of the restore. It looks like the restore will likely finish around 4AM Monday morning....Maybe I don't have to cancel my Monday meetings. Sunday 9:03PM: The restore to the E: drive completes! I did some cursory checks....all the data looks like its back. The PC is running like a world class marathon runner. Got a ibuypower 3080 prebuild 4 years ago. Right out the box it had performance and temperature issues. Brought my computer in several times, had parts switched out and fans added. To this day my pc has never ran well, and its never not overheated despite the additional fans, i have to take the glass cover off just for it to run proper at all. When I first came in the people working were all super friendly and it felt like a professional environment, reality is that i came in here with issues and hundreds of dollars later still have the same issues and basically just gave up and tried to live with it. They give you a 30 day protection plan after the repair. I had a second issue with my laptop the week after the repair and thanks to the protection plan they fixed it at no charge. Nathan was polite and explained the issue was not to fix the $1k graphics card, but a scrub of XP. Diagnostic was $49 and the repair was $140. One problem, didn't call us to pick up the computer, but it was on my way home. So stopped in and it was ready to go. Even helped put the computer in my car. This was my first time ever using a computer repair service and I could not be happier. I'm in my mid sixties and started using computers in the early 90's and have always struggled through computer problems on my own. To be honest, a few printers have ended up in the trash and my wife always left the room when I started fixing things. For some inexplicable reason I decided to call for help when attempting to transfer programs and data from my wife's older computer to my laptop that I gifted her when I upgraded. After exhausting my patience I called Nerds on Call and made an appointment to drop off both computers and explain my needs. Two days later I picked up both computers and must admit they were setup exactly as I wanted, and I am very picky. I could not be happier with these guys. I thought I found best computer nerds in town, but I was wrong. I dropped off my fresh build pc (everything is brand new put together) to this place on 12/22 Friday they were having a Christmas party at the time. Everyone seems so nice and friendly, nice work environment. The guy helped me was nice, I let him know what's going on with my pc (keep getting blue error screen when I tried install OS and after during install drivers). The price is $49 for diagnostic, if it need to be fix they will ask me if I need it fix or not. The price goes up to $99 or $189 depending on pc's problem and labor time. They said it might take a day or two to figure out, also it's Christmas weekend, they do work on SAT not sure about SUN and Mon this I understand it's holiday takes longer. I got a call Tuesday saying my computer all fixed ready to pick up. I drove 45 minutes to store they said my pc's power supply's cable wasn't plugged in all the way causing my pc not run properly. If it not plugged in properly then I won't even get to windows to install my drivers and cause blue error screens. They said it's all fixed and good to go, but need charge me $99 for the fix. I was shocked I was just in for diagnosing, no one called me or saying I'm going to get extra charge for it. The worker at front desk said he unplugged my power supply's cable and plugged back in, that's a fix so it cost labor. I was upset already and he won't wave that fee for me. And I ask him kindly since you charged me for $99 for fixed fees, can you help me organize my wires this is my 1st time putting a computer together. He declined if need him to do that need pay $189. I'm like forget about it, if it really fixed my problem then I'll get over with it, I'll organize it later on. I drove another 45 minutes home powered up my pc, trying to install my drivers again. Then I got the error blue screen again right away. I call the store immediately, who ever answered my phone was rude. He said "you came in for pc not turning on, we fixed that problem for you everything is running fine. If you need us to take look again that's $189 we definitely going to fix it for you, even future problems." This is the exact word he told me, I just feel like I been robbed, did not fix my issue, unplug and plug back in is a "fix". Just pay that $189 flat fee will get all your problems solved. Now I'm down $100 and still haven't got my problem solved. Need pay more to get looked at, and which I lost trust in them. read more

These guys are outstanding and the business is a model of completely BS-free service. No up-selling services (you know the kind, "Oh by the way your cathartic neuro-expansion port is fried, you'll need the $550 2023 upgrade"). They fixed a black-screen issue on my old Asus i5 quickly and were able to demonstrate clearly what else I need to get the dinosaur to evolve - and at far better rates than other places. My HP laptop started acting odd...Not charging, and not holding a charge. Thankfully, I noticed this shop when driving home from work. These guys took great care of my laptop! Replaced the battery and the charger with improved, more efficient ones. They installed anti-virus software, and cleared my cache. I am a senior citizen on Social Security, and have "my whole life" in my laptop, from my banking information to all my medical information, and much much more. Two mornings ago, I woke up and my laptop was frozen shut with a blue screen. I panicked. I called my local Best Buy and they transferred me to a salesman who could barely speak English. I asked him if he was in the store, he did not answer that question, all he did is make an appointment for me to come in. I no longer trusted Best Buy. My daughter found Nerds on Call one mile away from my home online. I called and a very kind lady scheduled me for an appointment that day. When I walked in, Nathan was at the front desk, and I told him my problem. He asked me for my code for my Microsoft account. I had no clue. He tried somehow to get the blue screen removed and give me access to my computer. He honestly told me that he would try his best to get me access again to my laptop, but told me it might have lost all my info. I started crying. He calmed me down, told me to leave it there, and quoted me a very reasonable price. I immediately trusted him. Making a long story short, he and his co-worker were able to restore all the information by the end of the day!! I was so grateful to him. He wanted to run some diagnostics to make sure all was good, which it was, and had it ready for me the next day. If I could give 10/10 stars i would. Need on Call fixed my janky laptop that I spilled a matcha latte on and then spilled a white claw on a year later. They fixed it within a few days and cleaned the computer for me, looks so much better. The price was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than I expected and my little apple MacBook Air is working like a champ once again. If I manage to spill something on my laptop a third time, I will def be going back to these guys. 10/10. Brought it into Nerds on Call and their staff were all very professional and responsive! Every interaction was great! Nick took care of me and explained everything I needed to know about my computer! I had the hard drive swapped on my iMac a little over a month ago. The team did a great job and they were pleasant to work with. But when I had to use my computers internal mic recently, my audio comes through muffled. Long story short the adhesive strips used to close the iMac back up were covering the small mic port. When I contacted Nerds on Call to explain my suspicion of this, they were super rude , never returned my calls, instead I had to keep calling them. I was very surprised because this was a complete 180 from my first experience with them. Anyhow, I ended up replacing the adhesive strips and my mic is perfect again. But I definitely wouldn't ever use these guys again, not because of a simple mistake with covering the mic (it happens) but because they treated me like shit when I even suggested there was a mistake made. read more
