Came in here a couple weeks ago because I destroyed the screen on my phone. The screen was completely dead and without it I wasn't able to restore my new phone with the previous data. First off Rafael is the nicest, sweetest person ever. I literally told him I could just hug him! Ok so first off like no one in Los Angeles repairs beats headphones anymore. I have no clue why! I was referred to Rafael from another repair shop. I'm glad I called because Rafael was super nice and available from 9-3 I believe Monday - Thursday which works for my schedule. I dropped my headphones off with him after bringing the repair parts and he said give him a couple of hours to finish! No week wait or crazy finish time. The rear camera on my iPhone 5 stopped working (apparently a common problem), so I checked on Yelp and found DropSmashFix just a few blocks from home. I brought the phone in at 1:30pm on Saturday, and Edward told me it would be ready by 3:00pm. When I returned, the phone was repaired and I was able to take photos again! I am a fan of DropSmashFix. This business has good people. Here's why I have a lot of confidence in their honesty following a successful quick fix & why I will be heading back with repeat business: My husband took his broken iphone 5 in, found out he had the wrong payment card, had to bolt and asked me to pick it up in his stead. He didn't think to give me the fixit ticket or pick-up receipt. I was there minutes later to pick up the now-repaired phone. DropSmashFix very appropriately did some cross-checks to ensure I should indeed pick up the phone (a process I was happy to observe, as I would want the same security for my own phone). & then, when I paid cash, the DSF-er caught that I had inadvertently overpaid $20 & returned the extra bill kindly saying, "that's why I always count out cash payments in front of people two times." Excellent business move. These folks are fast*, honest, and have equitable pricing** for the services rendered and deserved my thankful review for their work. I'll be heading back over with some additional devices next chance I get. **(Re: equitable pricing, I am comparing their pricing to Radioshack, where I had my phone fixed a year ago, and took prices from 2 other indie places near me. * And re: turn-around time, when i had my iphone fixed at Radioshack a year or more ago on Wilshire blvd &18th-ish in Santa Monica, they only had one in-store repair-person, who was out for a week at the time I inquired. Mine wasn't a critical break, so I waited for the repairman's return. They asked for a 4-hour window, & did it in 3 hours. The guys above took less than 20 minutes. Ps I have read scuttlebutt on Yelp implying some businesses in this space create false consumer posts. DropSmashFix as a company is smart enough to send out an email to facilitate customer feedback, which I think is only fair and prudent, given how few people take the time to write, even when they are motivated to do so. In my case, however, i didn't look for their email or use it as a template, because i felt the man's honesty over payment should get special thanks. read more

$165 to repair a cracked Galaxy S4 screen? No thank you. Extremely overpriced especially when there is another place near by that does it for $70 cheaper and it is the same repair! I highly doubt most of these reviews are real. If they are, there are a lot of stupid people paying almost double for a screen repair. read more

I've been to this location 3 times and each time it's been a great experience. After weeks of struggling with my lightning connector I stopped in. I took my phone there and the process was quick and easy. Unfortunately my replacement phone screen felt different and cracked very easily a few days later. I didn't even drop it -- a very small "hairline" crack appeared and got bigger over time. I brought the phone back to the store but they said it wasn't their problem. I would normally take responsibility for this, but given the fact that I hadn't dropped the phone or given it the amount of damage that would be expected to crack the screen, I have to assume they use some cheap replacement glass or did a poor job fitting it back on the phone. It would have been nice if they owned up to this or at least offered to discount the next replacement, but their blase attitude about it was pretty disappointing. I'd take your phone elsewhere. read more

I'm very disappointed in the customer service at DropSmashFix....BOOO!!! I'm a regular coming in and getting my son's phone fix. He recently had his iphone 11broken by his friend, I understand accidents happen. Everything has a solution no biggie," I'll get it fixed" I tell my kid. But I came to this location 3x's, and everytime they had an excuse not to fix it. The first guy gave me a quote and said they'll do on Friday and it was a Wednesday and I specifically asked are all parts will be identical, "yes we have them" I believed him. So I came back Friday with the phone different guy. I was told to come back Friday, I'm here with the $ I'm ready for it to get fixed, here comes another excuse,"we don't have the parts come back next friday", wow I'm trying to be reasonable. I'm starting think they don't know how to get this fixed. So here today again it's Friday same guy now he says that the color doesn't match my phone and that it looks more damaged than it was last week. How so it's been in the original box. Why lie I've brought the phone all times for them to see it and provide all parts in the future. Ididn't get his name maybe I should've but I felt that I was being rushed out from explaining why I'm given a different excuse to come back again next week "Friday". I get the hint 3x's is enough. Terrible service lack of responsibility on their comment to do what was said. Im never coming here again and don't recommend coming here if you have a iPhone 11 broken back and front glass. I cracked my iPhone screen so I went to go get it replaced. They fixed it, but within a day the new screen started to pop out. Extremely annoying to have to go back to a place when you paid $145 for a screen. I went back to Drop Smash Fix, and they replaced the screen again. Within a couple days..... It's popping out again. I don't even want to go back to get it fixed because I feel like it's just going to happen again!!!! Extremely disappointed. :/ read more

Eduardo and Raphael fix my Nexus 5 phone in an hour and a half. There was a problem with the power button which is pretty common with a Nexus 5 causing the phone to turn on and off automatically and uncontrollably rendering your phone completely useless. I very much appreciate the fast work, good communication and fair price. I would definitely use these guys again and recommend anybody. I never give 5 stars on the first try, but will reconsider if I go back again and receive the same excellent service. read more

My nexus 5 power button was not working , evidently its very common issue with Nexus 5 and my phone was stuck on startup screen . I Bought the power button on amazon and try replace by myself and ruin the motherboard power socket in the process . very disappointed with my self I took my broken phone in a hope of if they can do something about it so at least I can backup my data. That day I met "Rafael", This dude is a genius . he told me right away that I ruin the power socket on the mother board and asked me if I can wait . he researched the internet and found the schematic of D820 (nexus 5 motherboard) and researched the whole motherboard power delivery system. and after tinkering with my phone for an hour Wholla ! He manage to jump start my phone .Of course I manage to back up my all data. On top of that in couple of days he manage to fix power button permanently. that was some dedication and love towards what he like to do. First off, Rafael is the man. This dude seriously knows his stuff. It almost seems like he invented cell phones because he has soo much knowledge on them. So, I've taken my phone here before for a cracked screen and they fixed it no prob. Me being me I broke it again but decided not to fix it right away thinking I would just break it again. One day I was at the mall (westside pavilion) shopping and there was a cell phone repair kiosk offering a pretty good price to fix iPhone screens. I thought to myself it was a good deal and why not, the guy was boasting 15 repair time plus, it was a good deal! The guy fixed my phone and I was out 15 min later. Fast forward a month and a half my phone started having back light issues where I would turn the brightness all the way down and only half the screen would be dim and other half would be bright. Not to mention it would flicker randomly. I decided hey it could be worse, I can live with that. Well it got worse, the screen completely went black and stopped working all together! So I took it back to Rafael at DropSmashFix told him what went down and asked if I had 5 min to spare, I said yea. He came back out and showed me the sloppiness of the other guy's work. There were literally loose screws floating in my phone!! Long story short Rafael went the extra mile helping me. I was concerned I was going to lose all my info and he offered to help me back up my phone on my computer, which we did. The environment down there is totally chill and they got cool movies playing around the clock.
