So I have been meaning to write this review better late than never, my iphone 5 recently stopped charging and it brought it into the apple store assuming they would be the go to. I was very wrong, they proceeded to tell me it was something jammed inside my phone that was my own fault and I needed to buy a new phone. No way! So I called a few iphone repair stores around my area and chose this shop because of the kind answer on the phone and how quick they could repair this. Dropped my phone off to a man named Jose and he told me he would have it fixed within 45 minutes! I came back, phone looked brand new, charged perfectly and not nearly the cost of a new iphone. They are so awesome! Issue: my home button stopped working after it froze on a bright red screen. Took it to the Apple Store at the Grove and they opened it in the back. Was told that it was a hardware issue on their part and that they could replace the whole phone for $80, but to call AppleCare first because they might make an exception and replace it for free. AppleCare didn't make the exception, and when we brought it back to the Apple Store, they denied ever proposing the $80 replacement and now wanted $299 (or they would buy my phone for $250)! Failing logic board and the whole phone would have to be replaced, they said. Brought it to DropSmashFix and asked Wendy. She took it to the back, said that there was a little rust on the connector that she cleaned off in like 5 minutes. Now my phone is as good as new. Failing logic board my butt! Tl;dr: This place is the best! They knew better than any "Genius." If Apple won't take care of their customers, DropSmashFix will. read more

I did not get a call-back from the online appointment system, but when I called them myself, I was told I could just come in, and that the repair would take about an hour. These guys are awesome! My first experience, I took my I-phone 4s in for battery replacement and screen replacement. 2 hours later, done, and for a very reasonable price. Next visit, this last weekend, I went swimming with my phone in my pocket...dumb...took the phone in Saturday evening around 4pm, called them over and over because I was so stressed about it...they were totally patient with my neurotic behavior, reassured me...fixed it! Being a family of four (two being teenagers) we have used this location quite a bit! They have always went above and beyond and always held their end if something was still under warranty. Yesterday we brought in a phone for a broken screen and a bad LCD for an iphone. Rafael fixed it in such a timely manner and was so nice and patient with my 13 year-old daughter. He had her walk through every step of her phone to make sure it was working properly, so she wouldn't have any additional issues. First off, Rafael is the man. This dude seriously knows his stuff. It almost seems like he invented cell phones because he has soo much knowledge on them. So, I've taken my phone here before for a cracked screen and they fixed it no prob. Me being me I broke it again but decided not to fix it right away thinking I would just break it again. One day I was at the mall (westside pavilion) shopping and there was a cell phone repair kiosk offering a pretty good price to fix iPhone screens. I thought to myself it was a good deal and why not, the guy was boasting 15 repair time plus, it was a good deal! The guy fixed my phone and I was out 15 min later. Fast forward a month and a half my phone started having back light issues where I would turn the brightness all the way down and only half the screen would be dim and other half would be bright. Not to mention it would flicker randomly. I decided hey it could be worse, I can live with that. Well it got worse, the screen completely went black and stopped working all together! So I took it back to Rafael at DropSmashFix told him what went down and asked if I had 5 min to spare, I said yea. He came back out and showed me the sloppiness of the other guy's work. There were literally loose screws floating in my phone!! Long story short Rafael went the extra mile helping me. I was concerned I was going to lose all my info and he offered to help me back up my phone on my computer, which we did. The environment down there is totally chill and they got cool movies playing around the clock. When Apple tells you that you need a new mic & it will cost $150 & take 1 1/2 hours to repair, what do you do? You take it to Drop Smash Fix & have them repair it in 10 minutes for a cost of $68. I called & he quoted me info over the phone, including how long it might take. I went to see him after my shift & my phone was ready in 30 minutes! My daughter and I went in to drop smash fix, both for help retrieving photos out of our phones. Juan helped both of us, her with a modern smart phone with a broken screen, and me with an 8 year old flip phone. He was able to retrieve the photos we wanted from both phones, despite the fact that I had no idea what my password was 8 years ago when I used my old phone. There was no charge for either, which I don't understand. It had to take some time, and the service is invaluable. Painless process. Breaking your iphone screen is the worst, and DropSmashFix fixed my problem with minimal effort/pain on my end. Dropped in and the guy said it would take an hour. One hour later, I came back and my phone was fixed with a brand new screen. 109.09 total with tax and I walked out the door, with a phone looking good as new. These guys are GREAT! Dropped my iPhone inside a carwash on a Saturday afternoon -- smashed the screen, destroyed the LCD, and had considerable water damage. I cracked my screen terribly and I looked into going to Apple to repair but they wanted to send it out and you don't get it back for 3-5 days. I found DSF on Yelp, dropped off my phone and in under an hour, it was fixed and is working great (got it fixed 2 days ago). It was weird to be without my phone for an hour so I can't even imagine 3-5 days. I hope I don't crack my screen again but if I do, I will definitely be returning to DSF. read more

I'm glad this place is here. I was due for an upgrade for my iPhone with my service provider. The phone had a small crack on the corner of the screen, which my carrier told me immediately makes the phone ineligible for a trade in or upgrade. Mind you, The phone had a bunch of problems and glitches that would normally be covered by the warranty (6 months old), but Because of the cracked screen, I was stuck with a phone that didn't work till I payed it off, Or if I wanted a new phone, to pay for both a brand new phone as well as paying off the remainder on the busted one. The phone I had was a lemon. The deductible for insurance, which I've been paying since I first got the phone was ridiculous. I thought I had it covered. I went to dropsmashtix and they fixed the screen. Their price was much less than the deductible on the insurance. They provided me with a much needed work-around that allowed me to go back to my cell provider and get the upgrade to a phone that actually works. They saved the day in my book. Beyond that, the staff was friendly, cool and helpful. They were able to get my phone back with a new screen in 30 minutes. And since I was on a mission to go back to my carrier and get an upgrade, their quality and high level of service is greatly appreciated. read more

Absolute Nightmare. I gave them a brand new iPhone 7 plus with a tiny crack in the screen. The very inexperienced employee some how in just replacing the screen glass, managed to ruin the entire software of the phone. For $200 they will destroy your phone and give you no answers or numbers to call. It is a scam. Don't go here by any means. Apple will fix iPhones for cheaper, and there are plenty better options around the area read more

After three visits to Verizon, two to Apple, and no less than five people telling me my phone was irreparable, I brought it to DropSmashFix in a last ditch attempt to save it. I told Rafael what the suspected problem was, and he gave me a price to fix it and said there would be no charge if he couldn't. Oddly enough, he opened up my phone and found NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, closed it back up and it started working like a charm. He called to tell me what happened and didn't charge me a penny. The phone may very well still be broken and stop working again soon (it's been a few hours, so far so good), but the point is he could have easily told me he fixed something I charged me anything, I wouldn't have known the difference. Rafael helped me. He is a genius! Polite too. It's nice to see young people so helpful, motivated and taking pride in their work.
