I am so glad I called Droptine! Brian came out for a service call and immediately figured out my problem and it really had nothing to do with my AC. He saved me a lot of money with his quick diagnosis of the issue and tried to even help save me a call to a plumber since a clogged bathroom sink was causing the float switch to trip in the drain pan. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Droptine for all your needs related to Heating and Cooling systems. My AC broke down this summer and my home warranty assigned me a service provider, which concluded that my AC could not be repaired due to "improper past repairs", they strongly recommended me getting a new unit and offered me a significant discount if I bought two units instead of one. I wanted to get a second opinion as this would be a significant investment. Thus, Brian from Droptine arrived and he was suspicious about the recommendation to buy a new AC. After 10 minutes, he realized that the problem was a BURNT CABLE...YES, A BURNT CABLE, which only cost me $70 dollars, which was the warranty deductible! IN ADDITION, as I was experiencing a rough time with the warranty company authorizing the second opinion, he completely took matters on his hands and obtained authorization for the second opinion. I did not have to worry at all thanks to Brian taking a strong stance AND ADVOCATING FOR US about the legitimate need for us to have a second opinion. So, not only his repair service was phenomenal but his advocacy for us with the warranty company was superb! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH HOW WONDERFUL BRIAN AND HIS TEAM ARE!!! They are committed to making your units last as much as possible because they are true mechanics and technicians, NOT SALES PEOPLE!! MY STRONG ADVICE: Even if you need to wait a few days for them to show up as they are super busy, BE PATIENT AND DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. A/C stopped working on Monday. We just moved into this home a couple months ago, so we have a home warranty. HWA set us up with another company, but they were booked out a week. We were in a hot and sticky situation. It's hot and surprisingly humid this week --- when did Austin become a rain forest? Not a good time to lose A/C. HWA then contacted DropTine: they setup the appointment for the following morning and assured me that they'd spoken with DropTine directly, so they knew he was available for this appointment. He comes from a family with a history in HVAC, and when the previous company was bought-out, he decided to strike out on his own. Seems like he's off to a good start. As we got into summer, I noticed that my AC was not keeping up. I went through Home Warranty of America for a HVAC company to respond. A technician finally came out and said the system was "leaking" and he'd be back out to fix it in a couple of days. Several days later, he still had not called or fixed the problem. By now, however, our system had quick working. I called HWA and requested a new company and Droptine responded. Brian showed up on the day and time he specified. Droptine HVAC was sent out by Home Warranty of America to do a service call on my AC. Droptine doesn't actually work on my type of AC (according to owner Brian). However that did not stop technician Bailey from "working" on the unit, cutting AC drain pipes, and causing water damage to my ceiling and sun lamp. Owner Brian came out, fired Bailey, and was very apologetic.... until it was time for him to be accountable for damages caused by his company. All this was back in April. Amazing experience after months of broken ac!!! Called HWA in august as our upstairs ac unit was freezing up; they set us up with an appointment for Green Leaf to come out and take a look. Green leaf guy came out and explained a ton of retrofitting was going to need to be done and we would have to come out of pocket for a lot of money. Called HWA back and discussed options. Green leaf guy seemed not 100% sure about what he was saying so we were nervous. Decided to go ahead with the work and HWA said they would have green leaf call us to schedule repairs; they were also supposed to call us because they didn't collect the entire deductible fee when the technician was here but they never did. Tried calling them to pay it and couldn't get anyone on the phone. Finally paid it through HWA. Waited for repair call to schedule appointment which never came. Tried to call them and never got a call back. We decided to let it go through the winter. Called HWA back this week to figure it all out again and they said it was noted through green leaf that we refused repair, not true! Told HWA I did not want to deal with a company I couldn't communicate with and wanted to reopen the claim with someone else- enter Droptine... Brian came out today and was an hour earlier than scheduled time. He was extremely courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. He explained everything in great detail and made a much simpler repair in no time!! We paid a third of what we were going to have to pay and had it fixed in minutes! I figured it was worth calling, even if after hours, and sure enough I received a live person who was so kind and helpful. I've encountered some very sketchy HVAC people over the last few months - when you use a home warranty company, the quality of the technicians they contract with can be questionable. So I was a little skittish about using Droptine when they were assigned to deal with my tenant's HVAC system, which decided to go on summer break while the temperatures were in the 100s.. But Droptine could not have been nicer to deal with. They came out swiftly, did their thing, came back for some necessary fine-tuning, and were totally accessible and cooperative throughout.
