Two visits through warranty company. First visit(one year ago) I told the repair man, Lane that the other company who originally came out detected a leak and filled the AC with freon and said we needed to go through th warranty company for repairs. Lane seemed to be the "know it all type" but I just wanted my AC fixed in September which was a very hot month so I didnt report it. He claimed there were no issues with it. FF to now when we spent 2 months away and had our AC unit OFF, my guess is the freon leaked out and we came home to a house that was 96 degrees while it was over 100 outside! Just miserable to even move or get dressed, dont even mention cooking in the oven or with our gas stove either. I called my landlord to call the warranty company again..I spent a total of 2 weeks already with no AC and it's been a very hot couple weeks up to 110°! They got the repair set up for Thursday 8/8/19 between 9 and 12. Lane called at 11:30 saying he was 20 minutes out. He asked for details again so I reminded him about previous year (sept '18) and issues and about the other company that found a leak, he made a comment, "oh that's what they said". As if they were wrong before he even looked at anything which is unprofessional to speak negatively about another business to your customers BTW. Lane spent maybe 30ish minutes to an hour, back and forth from attic to outside unit and then told me there was no leak and it seems to be fine. Then he gave me "tips" on how to get my house cool without freezing the unit which basically meant he made me feel stupid by telling me very common sense pieces of information. My house never cooled below 75 which was during the night and then immediately started rising in temp as soon as the sun hit our house. My house was back up past 80 by 3 PM the day after he said there was nothing wrong with it. I then did what any other person would do, call the repair man to come back out because it wasnt fixed! I simply and nicely told him what happened with temo rising again...he seemed very frustrated and told me there must be a leak somewhere, IMAGINE THAT! He told me to contact homeowner then he would come back out. This was 3 PM 8/9, I did just that then sent Lane a follow up text to see what the ETA would be for the update repair. I got NO response and my landlord just called to tell me that after going back and forth with the repair company, Lane refused to come back out because I harassed him on the phone yesterday. Complete lie and disrespect. I am glad I didn't pay a penny for this lousy service and I would hope you would be too. Update: Business owner called me and wanted to resolve issue and thoroughly apologized for the behavior experienced by Lane. I was told that I would have the owner himself at my home the next morning to repair my AC as needed to get us through these hot months. I am very thankful for his commitment to his customers and the service his company provides to them. My AC recently went out and I did some research and had technicians come out for a quote and consult. I could not believe how many dishonest people were in the AC business, I mean from the $1000-$2500 range for the same warranty repair. One service individual even said "it is an all day job." After giving up hope of ever finding an honest technician I got the DropTine info from a friend of mine he said "call them and you won't be sorry they will take good care of you." He couldn't have been more right. I called on Thursday and Brian answered with a friendly hello and we discussed my situation which included a warranty compressor. Brian was willing to schedule me as soon as possible but was also willing to work with me based on my availability. We scheduled an appointment for Monday at 8am and at 7:55am Brian called me to say "I am already working on removing your unit," (it was raining heavily at the time and he still showed up for our appointment on time). After a parts supply issue with the manufacturer Brian was able to get my new compressor installed the next day because he was waiting when the doors opened at the supply warehouse (wasn't expecting that level of service but man was it cool (see what I did there, AC joke)). I was very very please with my DropTine experience. Brian was honest with his price, his schedule, the time needed for the repair, and when it came time to deliver he hit every mark. Even though I did not have a great first experience, within 10 minutes Brian, the owner, called me to come fix everything and to offer a complimentary winter check up! That was probably the best customer service I have had to correct a frustrating experience. If you have any questions about their service, ask for Brain, and he will make sure you are taken care of. AC works again! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I filed an HWA claim and was assigned to DropTine. When they arrived, the tech claimed the problem was a power line connection that was making my thermostat not work. It worked for about a week before I started having the same problem. The same tech came back out and claimed that it was now due to a stopped up condensation pipe. As this is a "different problem" it would be another $100 service fee. As this is considered "lack of maintenance" HWA won't cover it, so if I want it fixed (which is vacuuming out a pipe) it will be $90. read more

Have you ever had to deal with a home warranty company? I got a horror story about Home Warranty of America! Anyway long story short... It took for ever to get them to agree to even get the required repairs done. They finally get me a HVAC contractor to come and repair my AC unit, thankfully it was a dam good one. Droptine!, Brian (owner) and his staff worked some quick miracles. From his office staff to the 2 tech that came out and completed the repairs they did a wonderful job! They were very affordable, Home Warranty told us it would be over 3200.00 for the required repairs, it was explained by Brian and his staff to be just 1300.00. What an awesome company and person to work with! Super fast. Very responsive. Great communication. We are based out of California and our tenant complained about the A/C not blowing cold air. What a great company. Yesterday and yrs before they have had a 5 star rating thru this forum. For the past few months they have been getting borderline harassment calls from employees at yelp. Offering ad placements on other company's yelp pages and saying quote "you'll have more positive reviews guaranteed". After several times of being told no, Yelp is now removing positive reviews and leaving the one bad review to reflect negative overall. Shame on you Yelp!!
