I love drover's. We are a frequent dinner there. They always cook our food the way we like it. Fast service and the food is ready quickly for pickup as well. I really like there wings and extras. It's just a great eating environment all together. I love their salmon because of the seasoning and the all around way it melts in your mouth. A really nice thing about it is the room they have. The downstairs bar is really nice and the upstairs eating area is nice and quiet. It also has a real at home feel. It's location is very nice to me because it's just a nice little secluded place. I tell you what, if you're looking to indulge in a firm, juicy, succulent chicken wing, this is the place to be. My wife orders the bucket & has put a few tooth marks in their containers, sorry about that, Drovers, your food is just too "bucket biting good" as the KFC slogan goes!! In my last trip to this heavenly restaurant, the smell of grease filled the air along with some mosquitos from the high humidity. My armpits were soaked with my adrenaline juices. I used the restroom to change into my chicken wing eating suit. Mmm. When the mozzarella appetizers came out of the fryer, I instantly smeared peanut butter all over my wife. I then ordered garlic Parmesan wings, all drums, no flats, or as Megan Trainor says "All about the drums, no flat wings". Haha! I refuse any other wings but these. Nothing else comes close to Drover's. I'll take large hot with blue cheese, seasoned steak cheese fries and large coke. One of my absolute favorite meals that no other wing joint comes close to . I don't know what their secret is, but whatever it is, this place better never go out of business. I love it at Drovers! I'm not a wing person, as crazy as that is to admit, but even I have to say that their wings are awesome! You can dictate all aspect of your wings, including the way it is fried. I sat in the Red Room (http://droversinn1848.com/restaurant.html) and loved the ambiance! No where else can you go to an antique house and enjoy a meal. It feels like an unending restaurant located in Grandma's living room! I got the fried ravioli appetizer- it was wonderful! Also, be sure to check out the tavern downstairs! Pictures don't do it justice! I went down there just to see it and felt like I was walking down the steps in an old basement and when I looked around, I felt like I was in a dark tavern. Totally one of a kind experience. It's amazing to me that two of the top five best places to get wings in the entire country are located within 15 miles of each other. I would take Hillsboro over drovers, but it is usually a pretty close call. Drovers has more wing flavors available for those who aren't especially in the hot sauce. LOVED this place! We are visiting from out of state and found this on Yelp so decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was amazing, making the trip worthwhile. With all of the antiques it definitely felt like we were sitting in a house from the 1800s. The food did not disappoint either! I only made an account so I could leave a review for this restaurant. I would put zero stars if I could. I went earlier this evening to celebrate my birthday, which is today. Having never been there before I didn't know what to expect, but heard good things. I went with my family and when we walked in, it was almost pitch black. I'm assuming to hinder you from seeing how dirty the place really is. We sat at the bar, got our one and only drink of the night and then sat at a table as it was cleared off. We ordered two different flavors of wings and an order of fries. It came fairly quickly but was practically thrown at us by a girl who didn't take our order and then quickly rushed away. We weren't asked about dipping sauces, it came with one and I preferred another but didn't have anyone to ask. Didn't bother waiting for anyone to come by to ask, so we just ate them plain. They wings themselves were nothing special. Could have gotten the same at any chain restaurant. Wasn't approached at all after being served initially. Since we did order hot wings, we drank our drinks pretty fast and would have greatly appreciated another (even water!) but still got passed by. The college kids that "worked" there stood in the corner and talked to their friends the whole time we were there. At this point we were too annoyed and just wanted the check, that we waited another twenty minutes to get, to bother asking for anything else. To sum it up, I could have bought cheaper mediocre tasting wings at the grocery store and ate them at home, at least I would have gotten more than one beer. Overall an extremely disappointing experience that I'll be telling everyone I know about. read more

First of all I have to state that these ARE NOT the best wings by far. They are very standard. The last time I ordered the honey barbecue they tasted like vinegar and their hot wings are hot just to be hot, meaning no flavor other than 'hot'. There is also so much junk lining the walls and tables squeezed into small rooms that it feels claustrophobic and like you are going to run into something and knock over some of the hundreds of knick knacks they have displayed. The first time I went to Drover's was my freshman year at Bethany College in 1989. I had never had a hot wing in my life and after the first one I was hooked. I continued going to Drover's throughout college and still make regular trips. It is unique in just about every way you can imagine. Housed in a very old (100+ years I would guess) inn with period decor, you've just never been anywhere like it. I love the wings. I usually get the "hot". Those are hot enough to give me a little burn, but I'm not sitting there with my face all red and sweating while I'm trying to eat. They come in mild - medium - hot - suicidal - atomic - hurt me. Just FYI "Hurt me" isn't just a clever name... they will. I've never eaten anything at Drover's other than the wings, but I've been told all their food is excellent. Their employees are courteous and tend to hang around for a while so you get to know them if you are there with any frequency. The owner Mark is a great guy and is usually very visible. If you like wings you owe it to yourself to give these a try. read more
