Open tables, inside dining March 2021 (covid) for lunch. Ate the hot roast beef sandwich fries, gravy on all with a side of slaw and fresh brewed iced tea. Everything was very good, seems homemade. Roast was shredded pot roast not deli meat. Gravy was thick and tasty. Fries aren't fresh cut but still extremely good, a little crisp on the outside made them hold up while smothered in gravy. Great food, great atmosphere. Definitely has that "family feel" that always makes you feel welcome. Spacious dining room, social bar area and clean restrooms. My wife, mother-in-law and I came for lunch and tried a variety of menu options. It was wing day (50 cents each) with 28 flavors...uhhh, yes please! Highly reccomend- HUGE wings very fresh. Wife has a grilled chickeb salad and my MIL had the giant fish sandwich minus the sandwich. Great visit, we'll be back! TIP: see Natalie @ the bar for lunch/dinner on Tuesdays and thursdays . As a local i need to tell you that i love it here so much. The staff is so kind and cooperative that almost our WHOLE school musical theater will go there after we perform and they're so awesome. Margaret's is one of those "hole-in-the-wall" type places that you can not judge by its exterior. Located in sleepy Toronto, OH, this place serves up some of the best food around - and at ridiculously great prices. I am sure my dad gets tired of me asking to go to Margaret's every time I come to town to visit. The food: I have typically gone with their salads or their fish meals and both are outstanding in terms of portion size and taste. The fish sandwich and fish dinner provide you mammoth portions of fresh cod, and come with a delicious side of fries. Cole slaw also comes with the meal as a bonus. The salads are not for the faint of heart and will leave you full by the time you finish (if you finish). I have always gone with the buffalo chicken salad and have yet to be disappointed. Margaret's also serves beer - in bottles and draft - and has a bar portion separated from the restaurant-only portion. Both areas have flat screen TVs, and the place is a Browns/Indians bar in a predominantly Pittsburgh-centric area (major plus). Parking is sparse out front on the street, but more exists in the rear of the building and to the west of the building in an open parking area across the street (best bet for open space). You wouldn't suspect a great restaurant to be in the predominantly residential area in which it is situated, but the trip out of your way will be greatly worth it - from the food to the service, I have always had a great experience at Margaret's. read more

We visited based on the other Yelp reviews. I'd say the food was good, not great. Pricing is comparable to what you'd find at any other casual sit down restaurant. Portions were pretty good. Not huge as described by a previous reviewer. I'd come back if I were traveling through again. Getting here felt like you were going to Margaret's house. Inside though, the restaurant is fairly large. read more

Me and my husband stopped in this week around 3 in the afternoon and there was approx 5 other tables with customers and so not real busy but just moderate/minimal. The place actually had a nice decor whereby was comfortable and my husband even seen a picture on the wall of his uncle in the restaurant honoring the ones from Toronto who served in our military. From where we were seated the restaurant, everything appeared to be kept clean and in order although neither one of us had gone to the bathrooms to know about them. It didn't take long for our waitress to come to our table but was as if she was in a hurry to get us to order instead of relaxing a bit especially when like I said they weren't busy and they even had 2 waitresses there working the tables. They have a standard variety to choose from on the menu...pretty much the typical diner stuff they all have. I ended up ordering the breaded clams which came with 2 sides but the menu says can substitute the sides with a salad for 1.25.however upon asking the waitress what exactly this meant, meaning do we still get the sides if we pay an extra 1.25 to get the salad, she politely responded by saying no this means the 2 sides are cancelled and then you pay 1.25 on top of what the dinner costs, but during the confusion of us wondering why we would have to drop the 2 sides which are 3.00 each on the menu and then pay an additional 1.25 on top of the clam dinner cost just to get a basic salad, the waitress said she would go ahead and include the 2 sides anyways and so I got french fries and the coleslaw. My husband didn't see anything that was out of the ordinary so got the 1/2 pound cheeseburger which said it came with a side but since I had gotten french fries and there wasn't anything else on the side menu that looked interesting, he asked the waitress if he could replace the side with a salad like mine which was just lettuce, cheese, & croutons, and said he would just eat some of my french fries, and the waitress said yes but salad would cost the additional 1.25. We both were like that's a bit ridiculous but maybe the salads here are actually bigger than the standard size salads elsewhere. She first brought out our salads which looked pretty pathetic for what all the bs we went through just to get the salads & my husband having to pay the 1.25 extra for his. I mean there was literally a SMALL handful of salad, 6 croutons, and a very scandalous sprinkling of cheese however we will say we both liked their dressings....ranch and the french So our meals came next and the first thing I noticed was that my clams were PATHETICALLY missing most anything bigger than the size of a pea...it was like they just dump whatever was left in the bottom of their freezer bag into the deep fryer...I had like 5 pieces of breaded clam that could actually use my fork to grab with and the rest of the tiny bits of clams (most were just breading) could be scooped up with a spoon. Their coleslaw tasted a little bit old as if it had been in their refrigerator a little too long and the french fries were BLAND whereby they added no salt and by the time we got and tried them it was too late to add our own salt from the table because the salt kept falling off and wouldn't stick. We don't expect a lot of places to add salt because of the growing numbers of people who need to cut back on it but GEESH at least add a dash or two or ask your customers if they want things like french fries salted. My husband grabbed his cheeseburger and immediately noticed the bun was hardly room temperature and the burger itself was BLAND whereby again no to VERY little salt or pepper and it was quite dry and not juicy. The clam dinner was 8.99 The cheeseburger was 8.50 His side salad was an additional 1.25 (keeping in mind he had to give up one of his sides that came with the cheeseburger and pay an additional 1.25 for a TINY salad) Our drinks came to almost 5.00 Tax was approx 1.70 So bottom line, our bill came to approx 25.00 and then my husband actually left a few dollar tip because we know waitresses get paid less hourly wages, and so obviously this place is either hyped up or we have such bad luck that it's only when we stop at them that their food is just average and even below average read more

Drove from Wheeling to eat dinner and had great food w/wonderful waitress!! We tried wings first w/dry rub mountain&buffalo blue cheese-both were slightly hot and crispy!! Mmmm Then had the freshest house salad w/old school blue cheese followed by cod chunks&baked potato. Wow we can't wait to go back! It was very clean and huge steeler crowd w/many different ages of families. Also saw someone eating crablegs that we can't wait to try. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Really good food, Wide variety, Prices are good, New Management has made a huge difference all for the better, they have an entire new wait staff all who are excellent, for some reason the kept one waitress named Jodi who has been there forever, but it would be their best interest to make that change too, she is the only bad thing there at this point, here service and attitude is very poor, So we do return but make it a point to tell them we do not want here as our waitress and get fantastic food and service every time now. read more

I usually go here for take-out, and it's really good. They have the best wings around in my opinion and I've tried lots of wings from many different places. I also love their burgers and soups. The brew fries are a must! They're always friendly, even when it gets really busy and crazy. The portions and prices are good... though I think the prices have gone up a bit recently. But then again.... just about everything around has gone up in price! read more
