This is a hidden gem. The locals discovered this place and have helped make it an amazing place to eat drink and listen to live music. Lilly has done an incredible job turning the Drunken Goat into a must visit eatery. The selection of cheese and wine is unusual for this type of venue, but it is spot on. We are new locals and have eaten at this restaurant 3 times for dinner. I'm vegetarian and there are limited dinner options unless I want salad, sides or a cheese platter. At previous visits the kitchen has made the falafel sandwich off the lunch menu for me. This is more of a healthier meal with protein which the other options aren't. Last night we were told the kitchen couldn't make the falafel sandwich by the manager so we left and ate next door. Unless there are better vegetarian options or flexibility in the dinner offerings we won't be back. read more

We visited the Drunken Goat for late lunch after golf, after spending $137 at a golf course restaurant a day earlier on two sandwiches and four drinks. This area is so nuts! We spent less than that at the Goat for three delicious negronis and a wonderful glass of wine, plus the yummy Chevre and Apple bruschetta, Chicken Salad my husband raved about, and my Watermelon Salad. (I did not lick the plate but did empty it.) The patio there is laid out very thoughtfully -- shaded tables well spaced out, and a stage-like corner where the happy hour musician was setting up with the mountains behind him, lots of nice landscaping and cool fountains separating the space from the busy parking lot. Garage style doors open up the interior to the patio in good weather. It had a serene adult vibe, with a Pool Chill soundtrack instead of that vintage rock you hear all over the mountains, not the kind of place you'd find a bunch of little kids running around, although maybe that changes in the evening. Outstanding new restaurant in Edwards Colorado. Atmosphere was casual on the patio. We've been there a couple of times now. Had the California and the Peppered Beef Panini which were so tasty and so fresh. Salads were simple, tasty and really outstanding. The charcuterie board was amazing and paired with one of their French rose wines. Also joined for happy hour one evening and the wine specials were a great value and well selected. We walked the store and purchased a number of the food items in their specialty shop. Great breads, jams, cheeses, and wines. Met the owners Casey and Rachel and they were so nice. We had just returned from a long day driving and sightseeing. I read good reviews about the "Drunken Goat" on TripAdvisor. We arrived and asked the hostess for a table on the patio. There were 2 tables together ON THE PATIO that were empty. The hostess, a middle-aged woman w black hair and a black hat said there were no tables for two on the patio. She pointed to a table inside and said it was near the patio....just not ON the patio. My husband asked her if they could separate the 2 tables. She said no it was for a large party of six, "in case a large party arrived." The waitress heard her and said a couple were just paying their bill and it would be no more than 15 min. and we could have their table. I was asked my name and phone number. Why ask for my phone number? When I started with my area code, the middle-aged woman with black hair scrunched her nose and interrupted me. So I started again with my TEXAS area code. We walked outside the front door overlooking the patio to wait for the table where clearly we could be seen from the hostess desk waiting. Three small parties arrived, walked past us and up to the hostess desk, and the patio tables suddenly were separated. All parties of 3 or less were seated on the patio while we stood there wondering what was going on. My husband walked inside and asked the women at the front desk why they gave the 3 patio tables to people who arrived after us? Then one of the women (the one with blonde hair) said there was a "communication error." My husband replied that "the lady with the black hair had a bad attitude when we walked in." He then asked if she wants our business; to which she replied "I apologize; don't be rude, and there is a table that will be ready--they are about to leave." Rude? WE have never experienced such rude behavior, and we have lived abroad and traveled the world for many years. Upon walking away, I told the lady "Big mistake." We immediately drove to Avon to "Bob's Place," where we were greeted with a smile and seated at an outdoor patio where the views were amazing and relaxing with friendly employees and great food. "Bob's Place" became our "go to" restaurant for four nights after busy days on the road taking in the beauty of Colorado. Had I continued reading ALL of the reviews prior to deciding to "try and" dine at the "Drunken Goat," I would have read the owner's reply that "the locals are the ones we really want to attract." read more

It was the same person, and both times, it was her error, but she tried to make me feel badly about asking for the soup I ordered. She had forgotten to put it in, and instead told me that she, "only had two hands." The soup never arrived and I had to ask another server for it. But once I finally got it, it was delicious. Popped in for a late lunch, the shop was busy with holiday party orders. We were seated quick. The service was nice, perfect amount of checking in while allowing us to enjoy. The oysters were fresh and clean with a great mignonette sauce, my husband wished there had been more horseradish. The pork buns were yummy, the crisp cucumber really added to it. My salad was amazing, fresh red leaf, blue cheese, marinated onions and bacon but I used their vinaigrette instead of suggested ranch. My husband's tenderloin looked incredible. I ordered the veggie panini and it was literally a sliver of zucchini and a sliver of a mushroom. And the mushroom was only on one side. So half the sandwich was just a zucchini panini for $16. On Thursdays there's live music so our friend showed up to celebrate her birthday with a few friends at 4pm. I arrived around 6:30. There are about 12 friends jammed around two small tables. There was an empty table, among two other free tables on the patio, next to our friends. We asked the staff if we could grab one of the tables to sit down so we weren't hovering and were informed there is a wait list for the table. The wait staff then sat two people who had just walked up at that table, leaving the other two tables empty. Another friend walked in to hear the waitstaff ask "when are they going to leave?". That was a bummer, considering our friends had been ordering wine and food for hours on a slow night. We felt like they were trying to kick us out by not allowing us to sit at adjacent empty tables. Our group was full of all locals: realtors, concierges, and guides who have recommended Drunken Goat a lot but the way we were treated was a real disappointment. Great place to eat fresh salads, soup & sandwiches. After shopping all day with the girls, it was a special treat to relax & eat lunch here. I ordered the Arti Panini which had artichokes hearts & goat cheese that melted in your mouth. It comes with salad, fruit or kettle chips. I also had a bowl of tomato basil soup because it was cold & snowing outside. It brought instant comfort to my mouth & tummy! My mom had a beet & lentil salad with arugula & drizzled truffle oil on top. She loved it! We also couldn't resist ordering the poach pear with mascarpone & juniper berry sauce...yummy. Wow! What a fantastic restaurant! I had the Ahi tuna poke and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were seasoned just right and the cocktail sauce is spot on. I wanted more shrimp to finish the cocktail sauce! I restrained myself to save room for the dessert cheese board. Warm Brie and bite size bits of melt in your mouth dark chocolate.
