I used to absolutely love Drunken Noodle. It was vegetarian friendly, the service was fast, and the food was good. Along with it's sister restaurant Wasabi, Drunken Noodle has definitely taken a dive in the last year or so. The wait staff appears to care more about screwing around in the kitchen than actually serving anyone, and the food is honestly kind of bland. It's a good thing they have Sriracha sauce on all of the tables! Some positive things about the restaurant: You seat yourself, and there's usually no wait. The service is fast enough that you can get food to go. It's vegetarian friendly. It's budget friendly. It's open super late on the weekends and makes a GREAT snack after a night out drinking. Also they serve beer. Some negative things about the restaurant: The food isn't great (but it's not bad, either). Customer behavior declines after about midnight on the weekends. At least some of the wait staff are really unprofessional. Parking is on the street, and there's usually very little of it to be had. I recommend: Yakisoba with fried tofu. And some sriracha. I'd avoid: Meh not really anything. It's all passable. read more

#1 favorite noodle spot. I've been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. The food and service is always 5 stars.

The Thai curry rice bowl was good. It's hard to screw up red curry paste and coconut milk. The food was a solid 3.5 stars. However, the shop is filthy. I am not a finicky person but the dirt was upsetting. There was what looked like hair under service counter. The walls are splattered with stains of various colors. Everything was sticky. The toilet tank in the ladies was covered in...blood? vomit? I won't go back. If problems in the front of the house can be solved with a bucket and a mop, but haven't been, I can only imagine what the kitchens look like. read more

I will have to come back a second time to get a better feel. But here's my first experience Pros Flavor and spice. It actually had both. Selection- varied. Though we all had Thai inspired dishes. Funky bohemian vibe. Cons Felt like we were eating in the hallway- a bit awkward. Pad Thai not as flavorful as we expected. Dishes Evil Jungle Noodle- like Thai Panang with extra coconut milk. Husband dumped in some sweet and sour sauce before I tasted it. Balance of flavors good when I had it. It tasted spicy to me so either it will burn a Midwestern palate or my palate is a acclimating. Spring roll- perfectly crunchy. Delicious. Drunken Noodle- delicious, if a bit oily. Skip the tomatoes- they really have no business in this dish Pad Thai- missing something. Oddly bland. I was back in Fargo for a meeting this week and a colleague recommended Drunken Noodle. We were in at 1.30 on a Friday and had time to order, get our food, socialize, eat a quick bite, and pack up leftovers before our 2 pm meeting. The restaurant was certainly busy, but not too loud. There was one large group next to us, but the rest of the tables and booths had small groups of 3 or 4. I ordered the Beef Yakisoba and my dining companions ordered Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice. The meal was a little pricy for lunch, but it was a good amount of food, so that offset the price. If I lived closer, I'd be in here a LOT, but alas, I am a few hours away. Service was speedy. I got a bottle of Dr Pepper as well as a tiny Thai fortune cookie (so cute, worth the quarter!) in addition to my noodles and my meal cost right around 10 with tax. read more

I went here on a friend's recommendation. The food was bland. Underseasoned and under-sauced, the entrees left us feeling underwhelmed. The inside made it seem like they were going for the urban minimalist look, which is great, but that still means you need to be clean. The floors and tables were dirty, and not just a little dirty. Like quite a few other reviewers have mentioned, you'll find better noodles at the chain, Noodles and Co. Also, the entire time we were there, the phone was ringing off the hook. The lobby was empty, except for us, but even being not busy, I guess they weren't interested in filling take-out orders. The name of the place should give any potential patron a good idea of when the best time to eat here is: when drunk (get it, Drunken Noodle?). Accordingly, I have only ever eaten here when intoxicated. This place has been known to get packed with lines to the doors once the bars close on the weekends. Is the food going to knock your socks off? No, but you're drunk so who cares. My go-to's are the Mac & Cheese (doused with Sriracha) and Fettucini Alfredo. The wings and spring rolls are also pretty decent and reasonably priced. It's a nice change of pace from ordering a pizza, so if you happen to find yourself in the throes of some serious drunken munchies after an evening downtown, give the Drunken Noodle a shot. This is definitely a "hip" atmosphere. I am not a huge fan of the front part of the restaurant, but the back where the sushi bar is pretty cool. I am not a fan of the tables scribbled in all kinds of grafitti. I think it takes away from the atmosphere. And for being called the drunken noodle they need to do two things, they need a bar with alcohol and they need to stay open late. I think this place does have potential. The food was presented well and it had flavor. I think they should offer more options, but make those options Asian. It is nice they have dishes other then Asian to accommodate people who bring friends or family who maybe don't want ramen, or yakisoba, but they should definitely increase their choices. They wouldn't know spicy if it bit 'em on the face. I really wanted to love this place, but it doesn't know if it wants to be a kitschy college dive that's secretly awesome or a more upscale joint. It's like there's a seriously dose of identity confusion, made worse by bland and boring food. I ordered the spiciest thing on the menu and it was absolutely heat-free. I had to drown my bowl in sriracha to get what I was after. And while it's clean and the people are nice enough, my girlfriend pointed out, "I go to a restaurant for the FOOD, not the decor." (Her dish was boring, too.) I give it two stars because it was clean, etc. Based on food, it's a big loser of a one-star place with a bland, bland, BLAND menu. The Drunken Noodle dish with chicken is UH-MAZ-ING! The team there is always nice and helpful with the menu and super chill if you need a minute to order. I got the chicken fried rice when I went for lunch. I think that the rice had a good flavor but the red onions were a little raw and there were chunks of tomato in the rice. Are tomatoes in traditional fried rice? I found it odd that the Chicken was a chicken tender and not regular shredded chicken. They gave me quarter sized chunks of chicken and it wasn't seasoned. Overall, I'd be willing to give them a second try. My friends have said they have had better things on the menu. read more

I wasn't a fan of the restaurant. It didn't seem to me like they knew exactly what they were doing. The Alfredo (me being safe) tasted stale and way too peppery. The grilled chicken tasted and felt and looked fake. The chicken looked like it came from the Tyson factory. It was the best part of the dish, though. The Pad Thai's noodles were undercooked & the only thing to make the dish taste better was the sriracha. The Pepsi was the star of the show. Good job on Pepsi. read more

This place is just my family's style... we love it here! It's super affordable and it's opened until late so we'd eat here ALL the time with our two young children when we lived closer to Fargo. The menu used to have more options, but they've scaled it down since then, which kind of disappoints me. However, it's really hard for me to order anything other than the Pad Thai or Spicy Cajun Pasta because those are just so good! My kids always get their Mac & Cheese... which is also to die for! (They recommended the Mac & Cheese with some Cajun seasoning once and it was amazing~). You can choose to add meat, (chicken, shrimp, beef), or tofu if you want to for an additional 75 cents. So affordable and tasty! For ambiance, it is pretty hipster, haha. The floors are concrete and the walls are nicely decorated. Sometimes they play obscure music loudly near the kitchen, but we enjoyed that. You can pick your own tables, so if that's something you wouldn't enjoy, then just pick a spot farther away from the open kitchen door. (BTW, I think the bathrooms are shared with the flower shop next door. In the summer sometimes, that shop leaves their back door open and the owner gave my kids free flowers when they thought it was the bathroom. Fun times!) read more

I love that, like most of downtown Fargo, it's not a chain restaurant. This time I was with a group, so we had many different dishes at the table. I had the Pho - very nice. Great little neighborhood place in downtown Fargo. Had the pad thai, beef pho and seaweed salad. Hot, delicious and a good price. They have some quirks, like the glasses of ice you grab yourself, but it clean and the food is good. This is probably the closest thing to good pad thai I've had since moving to the frozen tundra. I would be willing to drive an hour to get some next time I have a craving. They have a number of various noodle options from mac n cheese, to pad thai, to regular italian style pasta. The service was quick, the girl was friendly.
