2 1/2 Stars. Golden Acorn serves a dual purpose. Besides being a restaurant, Golden Acorn also serves as the Clubhouse for the Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course, a Par 72, 6,400 yard course. The Golf Course is located on the SouthEast side of Galt. Golden Acorn is operated and managed by a Korean family, who are also Golf fanatics, as are the kitchen staff. I arrived at Golden Acorn after a circuitous Bicycle ride from Lodi to Thornton to Galt. IMO, of all the places I've been to in Galt, Golden Acorn iis the only facility large enough to house corporate events, weddings, special events, social gatherings, banquets, and large parties. On the menu today... Special Omelette (** $7.95) Nothing special here. All Breakfast dishes come with Toast and Potatoes. The three Egg Omelette contained diced Green Bell Peppers, bits of Ham, and some Onions. It was folded over and some slices of American Cheese placed on top. Potatoes were "enhanced" with Seasoned Salt. Short Stack of Pancakes (*** $4.95) Not bad in flavor, but the kind of Pancakes makes it seem that there is always a shortage of Syrup... no matter how much you use. Syrup from a small packaged container. Coffee (*** $1.25) Nothing Special. Sweetener and Cream from packets. Ambiance (****) Breakfast is served at the Bar. The Bar is faces South and overlooks the 9th and 18th holes of the Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course. The Bar has picture windows along the South Wall so that anyone seated at the Bar can observe goings-on on those holes. There is a tiered structure to the Bar area where the Bartender at the Bar does not obstruct the view to the outside, and anyone seated at the Bar is actually seated lower than the patrons seated behind them at the three Dining Tables. Nice, warm, dark burnished wood atmosphere with plaques of former 49ers and Tiger Woods on some walls. Looks like this is a 49ers Golf Course... While I was consuming my Breakfast, many Golfers came off the Golf Course, at the end of their round or during their "turn" (9th hole), to purchase Beer or Cigars to take back on the course. Golfers have it pretty nice!

You are going to love the calamari!! It's done Katsu style. Lots of Kim chi and other veggies. The pot stickers are over the top too. Yummmmm!!! Chris and his mom are great hosts. If you like Korean food or great tri-tip sandwiches, this is the place.

Lovely view from dining spot at the Golden Acorn.

So my kid somehow dropped her AirPod case on the floor and poof BOTH of her AirPods disappeared ‍‍. Everyone scoured the floors and searched the cameras and looked in all the nooks and crannies. Nothing . I called 2 days later to see if they found them... they hadn't. THEN about 15 minutes later, they called me and they found them!! IN THE BOOTH! New theory, the kid somehow took her AirPods out of the case and had them on the seat and got distracted (as teens with delicious food in front of them tend to do) and the AirPods fell into some hole on the booth before her case even fell on the ground. ‍‍‍ Either way... major thanks for taking the time to dismantle to booth and find them! They didn't have to but they did! Saved me $89*2 for replacements and saved my kid from having to continue to face my disappointed mom face.

The La galbi had good flavor as well. The soy garlic beef belly was okay, not bad but nothing set it apart. The banchan apps were good but the japchae was was really good to me. The kimchi was bland tho, made me sad because I love good kimchi. The bad: soda machine was light on a couple sodas I ordered. Later on in the meal they reset the root beer soda so I really appreciate the service for that. The vent hood was really low and blocked cooking at times but we understand why it's there. Some dishes were a bit odd like the popcorn chicken, which was mostly crumbs like the bottom of a movie popcorn bucket. Service was solid, Brandon our server was nice and gave us good recommendations. We would return and hopefully I can give them more stars on my next visit.

Just a quarter of the dining area were filled. Most importantly they were adequately staffed. Tablets with an intuitive user interface were affixed to tables for placing orders. For the most part, waiter interaction is not required except for non AYCE items (e.g. sodas, alcohol, etc.). Orders do arrive fairly quick. Placing large orders does keep the turnaround smooth. It's 10 items per request, but it's not much of a limitation given you can place them back to back. Sauces, fruits, ice cream, etc. are available at the self serve bar. Plenty of options in comparison to other establishments alike. Ideal for those following a high protein diet. GoGi came in clutch!

We did get one fewer banchan dish than last time, but nine is still more than you get at some places. The banchan serving sizes seemed a bit small for four, but we were asked if we wanted anything more, so I'm sure we could've had refills if we'd wanted. My husband had the veg Dolsot Bibimbap. He enjoyed it (it came with a bottle of Gochujang sauce, so he could add as much or little as he wanted). He did miss the Nurungji a bit (oddly, there was none). But he said it was good enough that he would order it again. Service was good; friendly, and efficient. Our food came less than 10 minutes after ordering. 3.5*, rounded up to 4* for the nice service.

The other Korean style eatery in Brentwood, Bon Chan, which mostly sells Korean chicken wings. Ahzeetu has authentic Korean food selections on its menu. She'll answer any questions you may have regarding any menu items. For an appetizer, we orderd mandu, which is the Korean version of the Chinese pot sticker or the Japanese Goyza. It was very delicious. A must order or try. We all ordered different dishes. The galbi (Korean short ribs) was marinated perfectly. Fat on the short ribs were minimal. I lived the char on the galbi. A must order recommendation. The 3 BBQ meat selection of BBQ chicken, beef (Bulgo gi), and pork was also excellent. The meats were cut for you after being prepared. The chicken, pork & beef were cooked perfectly. All meats were marinated perfectly, and not overly dry or burnt pieces. Another excellent selection to choose from. The Black bean sauce over noodles was very good too. That said, you need to be familiar with black beans, and the type of noodle to choose before ordering. You get Korean side dishes (Bon Chan) with your dinner order too. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Ahzeetu Korean Restaurant. We will be revisiting Ahzeetu in the near future. I highly recommend giving Ahzeetu a try!
