I booked a 3:30 PM appointment because I had an event at 5:30 PM, so timing really mattered. Unfortunately, my service didn't start until around 4:15 PM--a 45-minute delay with no meaningful communication or effort to accommodate the situation. Because of this, I didn't even get to my car until about 5:10 PM and ended up arriving late to my event. That completely defeats the purpose of booking a blowout in advance. To be fair, my hair itself turned out fine. But the overall experience was stressful and poorly managed. A delay of this length for a scheduled appointment is unacceptable, especially at a $75 price point, and being charged full price under these circumstances felt unreasonable. If you're on a tight schedule, I would be cautious booking here. read more

The quality of their blow drys are just not good. My curls fell out 2 hours after I left the salon. I asked if they could give me a Brazilian blowout and the man doing my hair told me no that he could only do curls with a curling iron. I accepted but it was just not what i wanted. The ambience of their studio is really nice but 80 dollars for a blow dry that doesnt even last for the event (WITH hairspray) is a waste of money. I saw the bad reviews online but decided to give them a try anyways due to their location. I visited here to get a blowout before New Years, steering from my usual place as this is way closer to me. My hair looked good initially, but within hours, it was frizzy. Not sure what products they use, but they did not hold compared to my regular place which keeps my hair shiny and smooth for a couple days. It was a pretty chaotic environment. The salon is located on the 3rd floor of the mall. The chairs are so uncomfortable. The person I got wasn't familiar with textured 3A hair. I had to tell her my roots were still wet when she finished blow drying my hair. She curled my hair with a curling iron instead of a flat iron, never seen that before. When she finished my hair was fluffy and not bone straight. Then she sprayed hair spray on my hair, it happened so fast I was horrified and didn't have a moment to stop her. Girl my hair doesn't need hair spray. My hair had no chance against the humidity and I wasted my money. She took way too long to style my hair which was another sign she didn't know what she doing. Also the register was a scam. They automatically add a 15% tip to your bill. But what if the stylist is bad? Then they ask if you want to add more? But then the options on the machine start at 25%. You have to click other and do the math to know what the dollar amount is for 5%. Can you imagine? I'm taking a star off for this. I was being nice by giving her a 20% tip but if I ever go back and get another stylist I'm not gonna be bothered, everyone is getting the standard 15%. My stylist Lana was super friendly and understood exactly what to do with my hair. As someone with more fine hair, it can be hard to get volume and waves without looking like a Shirley temple doppelgänger but Lana did it! She also suggested a side part, which is a new look for me. She explained it kept the volume longer which was totally true because my hair held the waves all night. It was pouring that day, and the staff even offered my an umbrella. I loved that! The front desk and process management of this operation however leaves much to be desired. We arrived early and were told - when already 15 min past my appointment slot and I hadn't been taken in yet - that they're running on time. This when if you're a client who is even 5 late, they will berate you and even cancel your appt. The front desk manager is unfriendly, disorganized, and has no idea how to answer basic questions relegating them to the stylist but won't tell you which stylist you'll be assigned to so you can ask those questions and plan for yourself accordingly. To boot - this incredibly inefficient "management style" is supplemented by this front desk person trying to speak down and providing attitude completely unprovoked. I had to download Yelp because I'm so frustrated with this establishment. The girl at the front desk is never smiling and is so rude and never nice or helpful on the phone. I started my Drybar membership in August after going in with a bachelorette party to get our hair done. This salon was super convenient for my job to run in for a quick blowout. Today they canceled my appointment literally at my exact appointment time 11:30AM as i was in Brickell City Center. She said they had to send one of their stylist home for whatever reason she did not disclose to me. When I asked her why she was canceling right at my appointment time. She said because I was the last one that booked my appointment for the morning that there was nothing she could do to fill me in for my event. Then she proceeded to make it sound like she could squeeze me in for 11:45 AM (because she was doing me a favor and trying to help me out) at which I first declined and called back no later than a minute after we hung up saying that I have to take the 11:45AM it's pushing it but I need to take that appointment for my upcoming job. She said, "oh that appointment has been taken" and I was like there was no way that that appointment had been filled no more than a minute after we had spoken. She gave me options that definitely would not work for me as I had already told her the first time. I've had it with this place. I told her to cancel my membership on the phone and confirmed that the last few appointments that I have available from this membership that I would be able to use . Other than a couple of stylists at this place, which I'm pretty sure do not even work there anymore. It has been the worst salon experience. I'm only going to the last few appointments that I have already paid for through the membership and then I'm never going back to this place ever again. If you have an important event to go to, or you don't want to feel like you're unwelcome in the store by the desk girls don't go here. I have attached proof that I booked this two hours before my appointment and it was confirmed through email. Always love a good pampering session! I came here for a quick dry styling for an event. My friend made a reservation and we met up around that time. This was on a Thursday afternoon and there was only one other woman in the store getting her hair done so we were taken right away. They asked if we wanted water, wine, or champagne which is always a special treat. Since we did the dry styling we already had our hair washed and dried before arriving since we didn't have the time for the whole experience. They sat us together and were super friendly and asked us what we wanted, what event we were going to, and helped us choose our look. I got the mai tai and she used a straightner to style my hair because of the length. It turned out really nice! It was done in a timely fashion! We had a little extra time at the end so we hung out and finished our wine and they didn't kick us out which was nice. It also wasn't too busy so that was probably why. All in all, I had a good time. As per usual, I am always satisfied with drybar. They greeted me wonderfully, and I was attended right on time. Being attended right away is very important to me. The price at drybar is a flat rate., which is good for us long haired girls. My hair always comes out fabulous whenever I'm here. It just opened, it's on the 3rd floor of the Brickell city center mall (right next to saks fifth avenue). You can take the elevator or stairs to the location, regardless, it is easy to get to. They have a huge menu on options for hair do's. They also always have chick flicks and fun music for you to enjoy while they blow out your hair. Their products are: AMAZING! Took me a while to write this review but I wasn't going to let this horrible experience happen to anyone else. I had a really horrifying experience with a D.C. drybar location and after speaking to drybar corporate I was refunded for my service and had no hair left on my head. They assured me this is not a usual experience so I decided to give them another try at a location local to me. BIGGGGG MISTAKE. I booked 2 blowouts for myself and my cousin for her birthday. We arrived 10 min late, as they are located in brickell city center, you have to park in the garage that's very limited on space, and none of the maps in the mall or staff knew where Drybar was located. Someone actually told us there's no drybar in brickell city center. We ran around the mall until finally a stranger knew where the location was and directed us. When we arrived all sweaty from sprinting around the mall, the lights were basically off and the employees were in the back. Then the front desk woman came over and told us since we are so late they cannot take us. We were the last appointments of the evening and the woman told us they close at 8pm. When the sign in the front explicitly showed they closed at 9pm. The staff in the back kept poking there heads out and were giggling. They clearly just didn't want to work as it was a Saturday night and they were basically laughing at us and hiding. After going back and forth with the woman my cousin was upset as it was her birthday present, so she went outside. I literally begged the front desk woman at this point to just cancel me and take my cousin, so that the two staff could dry her hair so she could enjoy her birthday gift!! She literally suffers from hair loss that's how little hair she has and it takes about 10-15 min to dry her hair. But nope she was extremely rude and told us she already cancelled our appointment and there was nothing she could do, but as a courtesy she wouldn't charge us for the full service. WHAT?! We show up 10 min late, have the smallest amount of hair, and the employees were laughing at us and hiding in the back. The worst part was when we walked out she ran in the back to talk about us and we saw the sign that said they close at 9pm. When I returned back in side to confront her about it (not giving up that easily), she claimed the 9pm closing starts next week. Why would you put a sign up in the front of your store if that's not your current closing time? False advertising?? Didn't even get a chance to try this drybar location, but after the terrible experience both the first and second time...rude staff...and lies. I will never book an appt with them again. Save yourself the headache and bullying. read more
