I did not have a good experience here and do not recommend going. I am a brunette and went for a balayage to give light to the ends, and it turned out to be nearly 80% orange/yellow blonde. I was getting my hair done for an upcoming event and had a small window to work with. I saw Cenya who is a nice person I just don't feel like she really listened. Instead of making sure I was happy she told me how happy she was and how much she liked it despite my complaint the day after getting it done. Unfortunately, with my event, there was absolutely no way to get back to the salon in time although I did reach out for a correction the next day. I spent over $600 to get my hair done. As soon as I was available again, I reached back out (2 1/2 weeks later) she tells me that next week will be 4 weeks and I would have to pay more. I have tried to force myself to like it but never have I ever been to a salon where I didn't feel heard or accommodated especially when I was originally quoted $350 and charged more than double. read more

This is my first time at this particular salon location. I guess I've become spoiled over the years by going to HyI End salons and paying higher than normal prices for cut and color. I would've certainly expected better service than when I received here. Let me explain. Martin who did my hair, did a great job on both the cut and the color. I am extremely pleased with his work and I will definitely be returning specifically to see him. He is truly amazing. The shampoo/assistant that worked with Martin was magnificent. I really liked her and I showed her my appreciation in her gratuity. She was fantastic. My reason for giving four stars instead of five stars was the lack of personal service from the other staff standing around looking at each other. There were three girls at the front desk area that just kind of sat and stared at the wall and what not. I had to ask twice for water. I was never offered any beverage. I did notice they had a beverage station set up but no one seem to make an effort to get to it. It certainly wasn't the fact that they were crowded because I was the only customer they had. They just couldn't seem to be bothered with anything. When it was time to check out I recalled that I needed some more shampoo and conditioner. I had to ask for help for that because no one recommended it to me. Surely people are paid commission here and will try to upsell and sell these items to me. Again, I had to ask for assistance and I was able to pick out three products that I purchased. Overall the quality of service in the absence of my stylist and colorist Martin, is in much need of improvement. read more

I recently called this location to inquire about a hair cut, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The receptionist (an older woman with red hair) who answered the phone was exceptionally rude from the outset. Not only was her tone unprofessional and unwelcoming, but she also seemed completely uninterested in assisting me. What made the experience even more frustrating was that she hung up the phone abruptly before I could even ask any questions about pricing. She rudely cut me off, said "bye", and quickly slammed the phone down. This lack of basic customer service and courtesy is unacceptable, especially after me being very cooperative and kind to her. I am extremely disappointed by this experience. It reflects poorly on the salon's commitment to customer satisfaction and professionalism. I hope this feedback is taken seriously because I could have been another customer. Clearly I will NOT be cutting my hair here. Being rude will always take you nowhere. As a receptionist, your personal problems and bad days have nothing to do with your potential customers. read more

As much as I like the person who did my hair and feel she did a nice job, I cannot recommend this place. They outright mislead people on the costs and push products too heavily. It's flagrant and unfortunate. Even when you ask for a receipt so you can see things itemized, they give you a receipt that has nothing but the total. When you are in the chair, they throw in extras that you don't even know you are getting, or paying for. For example, when one is at the sink, it can be a blur sitting there. But in that time, when you think you are getting shampoo and conditioner, they are doing 2-3 other treatments, each of which has a cost. They also insist on doing a blow-dry even if you don't want it, and charge a hefty fee for it. They tell you the cost will be one thing, but the final cost is 40-70% higher. I understand that maintaining highlights et al is not cheap. I have no issue with that. What I don't appreciate is being told by the receptionist - on multiple occasions (both on the phone and in-person) - what the costs will be, then being hit with a bill that is markedly higher, and being given a receipt that isn't itemized when I ask for it. Worse, they then give me little cards to give to friends, saying if I refer I friend I get 20% off. My only thought is, "If you can give someone 20% off, start with me right now given how you have consistently misrepresented your costs." It's tasteless. I'll add one more comment. When I went to this place the first time they convinced me to but all new hair products. I did it, and am happy with them. They are not inexpensive, but that's ok as they will last at least 7-8 months and I like them. When I went in a second time, they tried to convince me to buy MORE products, even more expensive ones, to replace the prior products I'd just purchased when i was there two moths prior. When I said no thanks, my hair stylist said, "That's ok. I'll work on getting you to buy them next time, as your hair really needs them!" Really....it's shampoo and conditioner...just like the prior products that you said my hair absolutely needed...are you sure it's not that your bottom line will love them? Because no hairstylist should be pushing new products on someone right after they pushed products the last time that person saw them. Just tasteless. read more

DISHONEST and DISCRIMINATORY! First and foremost, their practices are dishonest and discriminatory. Even if you can get past that, the next disappointment will be the service provided. I made appointment over the phone and was asked if I had been there before. I said, no that I would be a new customer. I described my hair length and type and that I wanted a basic haircut; nothing special. I then asked how much it would cost and was told it would be $55. I agreed. (Based on HONEST and standard business practices this is a verbal AGREEMENT and should have been honored.) I was then told I needed to give my credit card to hold appointment. She confirmed day, time and cost and told me if I cancelled I would be charged for the appointment. AFTER I gave her my card info she put me on hold. She came back on after a couple of minutes and said my appointment was confirmed. Then she says, oh by the way, the price for a basic women's haircut was actually $85. Because she had "confirmed" my appointment BEFORE telling me the jacked-up price, I was afraid she would say I'd be charged if I cancelled! I went to the salon and was given the most icy reception I've ever received. They should just hang a sign outside Sean Donaldson's that says, "If you do not look like us or speak our preferred language, you are not welcome here." I was introduced to my stylist who looked at me, without a smile or any word of welcome and yet another icy stare, and she pointed for me to go sit in her chair. I told her I wanted a general shape of up my layers (and that taking off a couple of inches was OK) but was open to any suggestions she had. She looked at me blankly. In a few words, she basically communicated that since I didn't speak her language she didn't understand what I wanted. She then took less than a 1/4 inch off the bottom and a few snips here and there. I am not exaggerating when I say it was less than 5 minutes. It didn't even constitute a trim let alone a haircut. I was stunned when she began taking off the cape, indicating she was done. THERE WEREN'T ANY VISIBLE HAIR TRIMMINGS ON THE CAPE NOR ON THE FLOOR - that's how little was taken off. At this point I was disgusted because I had been lied to about their prices when I made appointment, treated like a second-class citizen when I arrived, and had a horrible experience with the so-called stylist. The next insult was when I went to the counter to pay and a rude woman gave me a dirty look, then asked me if I was indeed a "new" client and I said yes, and she said in an aggressive and nasty way, "Well, YOUR haircut should have been $100." I said that I would pay what I was told it was going to be and no more. I would not be charged yet another jacked-up price by this rip-off joint. Sean Donaldson Salon does not want new clients. They do not want to be fair and honest with their pricing. They do not want clients who do not look like them. They do not want clients who do not speak a certain language. They also do not want to stay in business because with this kind of dishonesty and xenophobia they will (hopefully) go out of business one day soon. read more

I came to Keith, I was recommended to him by a friend and I loved his work. The place is very clean, trendy, and chic, I loved it. Keith is a master at short angled cuts. I told him I wanted Dua Lipas bob and he came through for me haha. It was beyond perfect, and he cut my hair in a way it was just slightly longer in the front, and all the angles were perfect. I couldn't have asked for more from Keith, he did a phenomenal job and I got so many compliments. This salon is great, be ready to spend because good haircuts aren't cheap. Overall wonderful time. Visited Sean Donaldson salon in Brickell City Center last week for a Keratin treatment and cut. The experience was incredible from start to finish! MAJOR thanks to Meddy, who...basically...totally transformed me into a brand new person. It had been a year since I'd gotten my hair cut so it was well due time for a reset. I called and made an appointment with ease. The receptionist was friendly and helped me determine costs and treatment options. When I walked into the salon I was warmly welcomed and immediately offered champagne, water, coffee whatever I wanted. Such a great feeling. The salon itself is also clean and well located. After a relaxing hair wash, Meddy did an incredible job with my hair. He took his time with the keratin treatment and the cut. And I ended up in love with my new hair. TERRIBLE. Avoid this place, especially if you're blonde. Paid $400 for yellow roots. When I tried to tell the hairstylist (Chris) that my roots were yellow, he got very angry, insulted me in front of the whole salon, and told me to go find another hair place. He did another round of bleach and still left my hair yellow. Lady at the front then charged me $125 more than what he told me it would cost. Hairstylist was hiding in the back like a coward instead of telling me why he charged me extra. He clearly doesn't know how to do platinum blondes and was incredibly disrespectful. read more

I hate to put a bad review because my friend recommended and sacha seems to be good at what he does. But I did ask before going if he had expertise in curly hair and I was told yes. I get that all the women in Miami are obsessed with straight hair but I love my curls. The thing about curly hair is 1- nobody knows their curls better then the curls owner. 2- it looks completely different wet than it does dry. And that is why I'm so upset right now. My hair looks aweful. It does not look anything like the pictures I showed and I have bangs, which i hate and adds so much volume to my hair. There is really no charm in the cut. I want to leave my opinion on the level of service. The hairstylists are warm, skillful and professional. Patricia is an exceptional stylist. If you want a stylist to engineer your haircut and give you an intelligent design with harmony and precision. I've seen her do beautiful bobs, pixies, layered cuts and men's hair. She is Sassoon trained and has been cutting for over two decades. I highly recommend if you are hesitant to cut your hair and/or you can see and feel the difference in a good haircut. Extremely unprofessional! I was waiting to get my hair colored and a beautiful women came in to stress her concerns of unfinished hair the salon left her with. The women showed the colorist, Valeria, a picture of platinum blond hair and stated that's what she asked for. The women's hair was orange from the previous visit and Valeria started talking to her male coworker in a different language about the situation right in front of the women. Understanding the language I was able to determine Valeria was talking about the client in a mean way and said some nasty stuff. The women had a whole day time slot set aside to have her hair fixed after they made her hair orange instead of platinum. Valeria then refused to fix the women's hair and the women left with orange hair caused by this salon. At that point I knew I couldn't trust this salon with my hair and I had to get out. Warning do not go here they will leave ur hair unfinished, talk nasty about you, and scam you. If I could leave no stars I would. read more

Colleen takes great care of me whenever I go in. She's the only person in Miami I've ever gone to twice for a haircut, and she also did my Brazilian blowout. This place is clean, with great knowledgeable stylists, and the price is super reasonable, especially for being in Brickell city center. A women's cut and gloss comes out to ~$120, and the blowout was ~$300, less than at a lot of other places. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes before they have me in a chair, which is also nice. read more

I recently got my hair done at Sean Donaldson. I had dark roots that just needed to be re-highlighted all over. The lady who did my hair was SUPER sweet and did do a good job on the top of my head! When I got back home, however, I realized the perimeter of my hair and around my ears was still dark, so I called to just get that section fixed. I had an appointment scheduled for a few days later, and by the time I drove 30 minutes and arrived at the salon, the lady at the front desk (on the phone) told me my stylist had just left even though I had an appointment set up for that time. I was understanding and talked with the lady to reschedule for another day, and I was told I would receive a call the next day to confirm a time and a day to redo my hair. I then got a call 2 days later from a lady at the front desk frantically telling me I'm 15 minutes late to my appointment. She firmly asks me exactly where I am, tells me to hurry as fast as I can to the salon and says, I quote, "RUN, RUN!!!!!" to get to the salon in time so my stylist can put "one foil" in my hair to fix the perimeter of my hair in "15 minutes"(even though the whole perimeter of my head needed to be lightened). I start driving in that direction when I get a call again saying my stylist will no longer be able to do my hair today. She told me to reschedule for next week. I was obviously frustrated with the way I had been treated and voiced that I felt disrespected as a client. I have been coloring my hair for 11 years now at different places but have never experienced this sort of disrespect from a salon. It is unfortunate. I will not be returning. read more

Went here to purchase a product while on vacation and the women who works up front was nothing short of RUDE. I can't attest to their services but all I know is that if I walk into an establishment and someone is treating me with disrespect I will most certainly never use their services. Upon opening the product I purchased... The inside of the cap was all covered in solution and upon returning to replace the $50 shampoo I had just purchased this women made sure to make me feel like was less than and not worth her time... HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Not to mention she handed me a replacement bottle twice and both times it was the wrong product... the owner really needs to reconsider who they have working here.
