From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the manager, Elizabeth, who was all smiles and incredibly friendly. She immediately made us feel comfortable and even offered us a glass of champagne or water while we waited--such a nice touch. We both decided to add on the 10-minute massage, and I'm so glad we did. The wash and massage were absolutely wonderful and so relaxing. After that, we were taken to our styling stations where we each talked through the look we wanted. Both stylists really listened and delivered exactly what we had in mind. Our hair turned out beautiful, and the whole experience felt like a treat from start to finish. My experience at DryBar was just okay. I had to stand in the lobby and wait for quite some time before someone came to check me in. The receptionist was not particularly warm or welcoming. She did not make eye contact, smile, or greet me. It was a little bit of an awkward interaction. My stylist was very nice and worked pretty efficiently. Her station was sparkling clean and I loved the aesthetic. My hair looked nice, but the curls and volume did not last for more than two hours, which was disappointing given the cost. Overall, this worked fine for a special occasion blow out, but I would not rush back here. I felt like a number being moved through an assembly line, rather than a welcomed guest. I think that is kind of inevitable in this type of set up, but I do think DryBar could step it up and create more of a luxurious experience to match their luxury service price tag. read more

My appointment started promptly at my scheduled time. Upon checking in you are offered one drink of choice. My stylist brushed my hair first, then barely washed it (leaving it dirty) and "blow dried it" as shown in the photo. Other stylists appeared to be knowledgeable of what they were doing...but mine probably never touched a blow dryer before. She started blow drying my hair from the ends which I've never seen someone do before. The entire process took 2+ hours due to my stylist's lack of dexterity. Add on are a rip off. I paid for a scalp massage in the past and it seemed short so this trip I took my phone and checked the massage time to see if it really was 10 minutes as advertised. It was Not a "10-minute scalp massage" as advertise for a cost $15.00. At the checkout I was asked how was everything? I said the scalp massage was short on time. I was told "the shampoo time is included therefore the shampoo AND scalp massage Total time is 10 minutes, you don't actually get a 10-minute scalp massage". Included in the service is the shampoo so paying for a 5- or 6-minute scalp massage for $15 is deceptive and not worth the cost, so skip the add on. When you upgrade your pedicure (add on) to include a massage, they have a timer, so you know you got what you paid for, not deceptive. This review is for HULEN store but I think the time is the same at all shops. Ask before about time. read more

I always had a great experience at this location. So, I would give you 5 stars. I went to the new location on Hulen since it is 3 minutes from my house. When I got my hair washed at this location, it was always relaxing and I felt I had a really thorough wash, not so much at the Hulen location. It was marginal. told the girl that I wanted a lot of volume in my hair because I had a special event tonight. I explained that when I style my hair, I have to use a thermal spray with my curling iron to keep the volume and the curl on the bottom. It's straight and has no natural curl. When she finished, it was sub par. I had to ask her to use a curling iron and she only used it on the ends. I will have to curl my hair later before I go out because my hair looks so flat. I still have Faith I just had the smallest amount of faith.. I really think someone made him mad before me and then I just got it taken out on. Such a bad experience.. And leaving with horrible hair... I paid for horrible hair. Please re-train him. The amount of audacity that he had. He proceeded to blame it on my split ends, (giving very much narcissist) which I have do not have because I cut my hair... why you ask because I am a licensed cosmetologist 15+ years.. I made an emergency trip to FW and, after a week, needed to have my hair washed and blown dry. The previous day I had randomly chosen Drybar's competitor, ony to walk out because the staff was so rude. Today I tried again at DRYBAR and I am so glad I did. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. They did a fabulous job recreating my hairstyle and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I know these are franchises, but whoever is running this place has selected sweet and talented employees. I know I will be back next week. I was paired up with Aide and she did an excellent job, the type of blowout you expect from DryBar. I'm so happy that Drybar pays attention to mishaps and incidents and takes care of their clients. I called prior to scheduling to Make sure I was being scheduled with someone who handles halo extensions. I show up and the stylist that helped me said she didn't know how to work them. She walks away and then says that someone else will help her later. I told her I honestly didn't feel comfortable with that and that we will just not use them. I made it very clear that I needed to be out by 2:20pm. Since I have a performance at 3p She started late and very well could've skipped the wash but chose not too. She was rough and pulled a lot when washing and was not nice at all. I told her at 2:10pm the hour just as a heads up and she started curling my hair really horribly with my head still wet. Booked my appointment last minute (Friday morning for Friday night) and got in for a 5pm appointment. I was greeted warmly at checkin & was in the chair by 5:10 (they were booked so that wasn't a terrible wait considering how busy they were). I didn't get a chance to discuss with the appointment person on the phone that I'd need a dry style because I was in a time crunch - our party was at 6:30 & I had to drive back towards Hulen Bend to change & be downtown for the part. They switched my appointment for me without a fuss but I'm definitely doing the full blow out next time! My stylist was great. Listened to what I wanted, carried on a great conversation & gave me exactly what I wanted (soft 50's style curls). I loved that she'd verify if hairspray was ok & discussed the products she used & why. I will obviously be going back again. Well.. I really wanted to like drybar since so many of my friends have had great experiences at other dry bars. I went this past Saturday to do a low bun up do for a wedding and it was 0% what I asked for. I made an appointment for 11 and at 11:45 (I needed to be gone by 12:30), I asked if there was any time estimate since my appointment was already so late. I was told no and that the group of girls before me came in very late causing my whole group to be late. On top of that the stylist who was next available to see me said she didn't feel very confident with updos. So.. a few things.. why isn't the late policy being enforced, and why are people being hired who can't do services that are advertised. Also, while we sat and waited we had to ask the 2 front desk ladies (who were just sitting at the computer) 4 times for mimosas before we actually got one. The lady who did my hair was so kind and hospitable, however the teasing was SO ratty and uneven, I asked for a middle part and my part was no where in the middle, and the bun was not even at all. When she showed it to me I was so upset that I would be spending $100 on it, but because of poor management and my schedule being behind, I had zero time to get it fixed. I had to go home, take the bun out, and completely redo my hair. Of the 6 girls in my group to get their hair done, only 1 was happy with the experience. All of us ended up having to do our own hair. Just absolutely disappointed at the waste of money. I would like to consider giving them another shot but don't know how much I am willing to burn that money again. read more

I also brought in my own hair products (high maintenance I know, but I spend a lot of money on my blonde hair, so I better take care of it), any who... she was fine with using my products. This is a nice change of pace for me, just getting my hair blown out. It's less stressful than a haircut, so it's a more relaxing experience overall! The whole process is super simple and pleasant. Come in, have a drink, get your hair washed with a nice little scalp massage, choose your preferred hairstyle, and then have your hair blow dried and styled. It takes about an hour and there you go.. soft, sleek, shiny, styled hair that smells delicious. All the products here smell sooooo good! And I like all the pastel colors going on (paint, decor, product labels). Drybar feels very feminine and light and Easter-y. The stylists I've met with are sweet and professional, and the prices make sense considering the level of service and care. We then proceeded to the shampoo bowls where I'm pretty sure I fell asleep.. the head massage was so nice and the chairs were comfortable that it was just where I wanted to be after work. Then the blowout began and the styling happened! It was like a hair fairy tale. It turned out absolutely beautiful. I'm slightly upset and mad at myself for not knowing about this place earlier. They told me if I didn't have an email confirmation they couldn't do anything. After I explained that my engagement pictures were in an hour and I had already paid for the appointment, they got defensive and told me that they had no more availability that day. They never once apologized, they blamed me for the whole problem, and didn't to care in the slightest that they screwed me over for my engagement pictures. If I could give negative stars I would. I was offered a choice between champagne, coffee, water, and orange juice so I chose the bubbly which was delicious. I was then whisked away to get my hair washed and nearly fell asleep from the experience. Yvette then led me back to my seat and my hair was dry and styled before I could even finish my champagne which was a first considering I have wild wavy hair and TONS of it. Maybe I went on an off day or had the wrong person but I was seriously not impressed with my experience. When I walked in and checked in, I was not offered anything to drink. No big deal except everyone else was offered drinks by the front desk and their stylist. Nothing was ever offered to me and it definitely made me feel like my business was not worth their time. I came on a Saturday morning at 8:30 (showed up 5 minutes early) for a blow our before my bridal shower. Once I sat down a huge bridal party came in. No big deal, I love seeing happy people celebrate but it definitely ruined the relaxing vibe I was going for when I booked my appointment. My hair was just eh. I requested the Southern Comfort hoping for volume and a bit of bounce. I have shorter hair but I have had my hair blown out plenty of times to never have a problem with this. There was no volume and I left with two distinct curls, one on each side. My bangs had a huge dent in them and I could barely look at it in the mirror. I didn't have time to wait around for another especially with how brushed aside I already felt. I went home and tried to salvage my hair. It was one big ratted mess at the back. I smoothed hair over it and created more curls but by the time I got to my shower my hair was flat. I just love Drybar. I've been wanting to visit this location for the longest time but hadn't had an opportunity until the Bubbles and Blowouts event. Customer service here is top notch. My stylist, Sarah, was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable despite my unruly head of hair. I appreciate that she was fast without sacrificing quality. She made sure to go over my ends multiple times to get them as straight as can be. She balanced things out with good conversation, and shared what her favorite products were without being pushy or "sales-persony". She also raved about the owner, which is always a good sign to me. The owner was also there during the event and was so sweet, making sure everyone had drinks, snacks, and that we felt pampered. I love how she greeted us with a smile. I've been to salons where you walk in to get scheduled or to confirm your appointment and you're given the side eye--not so here, and I love it! This Drybar is located in the new WestBend plaza across from University Park Village. Stores have been sprouting up here over the last couple of years. Drybar is a great addition! Ok, so, let's talk prices. Drybar blowouts used to be $40, now they are $45! There have been a few changes in price to some of the other services. But, it's still SIGNIFICANTLY less than getting your hair done at other salons, so I stand by their quality and say that every penny is worth it. And, every so often, groupons go on sale and you can get them for cheaper, so there's ways to save money. Another way to save is to get the Barfly Membership, which I am seriously considering--it's $80 a month, which shaves off that extra $5, AND you get a free birthday blowout (savings of $45!!!!!) AND 10% off in-shop products and tools. Can't beat it! Lastly, I just love their branding. The bar theme with the style names and products, the cute mix of vintage and modern furniture with the signature yellow, white, and dark gray color scheme, it's just awesome!!! read more

I had my hair blown out and styled here last week for a special event. I don't know what happened, because I usually love the styles I get at Dry Bar, but my hair turned out awful. I have long, layered hair and wanted big waves with an Old Hollywood feel, lots of volume and softness. I left looking like a frizzy poodle and brushed my hair out and redid it myself in a rush. I should've voiced my concern when my stylist began curling my entire head of hair with a teeny curling iron and I could feel the Shirley Temple coming on. I would have (and should have) said something before I left my appointment, but I was in a major rush to finish getting ready for the event and I had already spent nearly an hour and a half there. Aside from the bad hair, the receptionist is not very friendly and forgets to bring complimentary refreshments to guests after she asks what they would like. It didn't just happen to me, but also a client next to me. Not only that, but in my opinion a lot of the staff wasn't professionally dressed, with a few looking like they just came from the gym. I'm sad that I wasted time and money on this appointment and I'll probably try a different place the next time I need a blowout. read more
