I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged. I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. I usually do the one at Scottsdale Quarter, but on Friday and Saturday they seemed to be completely full and this is the only one that had a spot available but I loved it I actually think I may have to drive over here every time. I loved the people the receptionists, I loved the view while they're washing your hair and I absolutely loved my hairstylist I needed a charger and they did not hesitate to help me right away they found a place for me to hook it up I actually want to come back I give this place five stars dry is a bar and I said brown it's pretty solid one read more

RUNNN DONT WALK TO THIS DRYBAR!!! first i just have to shoutout kendal!!! i have been to multiple different drybars even in different states and none of them compare to this location.. i had a great experience today thanks to kendal and the amazing front desk staff. when i originally booked, i made sure i requested the stylist i saw last time because she worked really well with my textured hair. when i arrived and realized it wasn't the same person, and that there was a miscommunication when booking over the phone, i'll admit i was a little nervous and disappointed--only because i've had rough experiences in the past at drybar in other cities not being familiar with my hair type and leaving not satisfied at all but when i tell yall kendal absolutely snapped!!! she handled the situation with so much grace and kindness. she was beyond understanding about how nervous i was and validated my feelings. like even though i wasn't super chatty, she made an effort to talk to me, stayed calm, and made me feel comfortable. most importantly--she absolutely killed it on my hair. she got it so straight & took her time.. it turned out so good, and i'm so genuinely happy with how everything went. also, huge shoutout to the front desk receptionists--they were incredibly sweet and understanding about the mix-up. overall, a really positive experience, and i left feeling so much better than i came in.. this is how every salon should be but i don't even care how they should be because i will be at this one every time!!! thank you again girls!! read more

At first, I was skeptical that this was worth the cost, but after giving it a try, I've been convinced. The first time I came, Maria did my blowout and I loved the results. The second time, I had a great experience with Allison. I've tried three different styles and liked them all. Long story short, it's hard to go wrong. (From the Southern Comfort, Old Fashioned, and Cosmo, I recommend the Cosmo for the best multi day look.) I actually went to a different Drybar to get a blowout on the day of my wedding out of state based off how much I liked the experience. As an attorney, I like to come get a blowout before I start a trial so my hair looks great and is easy to deal with for a few days. It's not a service I would do regularly (on my current salary) but it's worth it for an occasion like that. read more

Sonia was an amazing stylist. As someone who is African American with 4C I am always weary ifntreating myself to things like this. However this drybar is better than all rest in AZ; they are much better equip to deal with ALL hair types. Furthermore, My experience has gotten better each time. This visit was definitely the pinnacle because the curls have actually held, and was done in a timely manner. I say this because this is 5th visit to this location 13th visit overall between drybars in Scottsdale, Chicago and Dallas. Concerning this location one time it took 2 stylist 2 hours to section and straighten my hair, and while the stylist was extremely apologetic it was disappointing and tiring. Another time not all the soap was washed out and had to be rewashed type (my hair is thick and I alertbthr stay to this prior to my visit) But today, in and out in an hour, great service, beautiful style that other people got to see! read more

The stylist barely even washed my hair, no scrubbing just gently skimmed the shampoo over my scalp. I had to wash my hair the following day as it was oily. And I asked for loose waves and some volume. She left my hair flat with tight curls. I paid $59 for this before tip. I won't recommend going to the Phoenix location. read more

Wanted to start off by saying that I have been to many dry bar locations and the experience is not at all the same from the time you walk in the door here you are greeted by the friendliest people, everyone speaks says hello and welcomes you in. Anna was so welcoming and cute! She makes you feel like you made the right choice as soon as you arrive and offered me coffee and water and made my coffee perfectly ( I have been to so many dry bar locations where you can't even get a water without asking multiple times and you feel awkward and out of place) Not here! Anna made sure she answered all my questions ( I have extremely naturally curly hair and was worried about someone not being able to get my edges straight and Anna assured me that I was good to go before introducing me to Serina my stylist. ) Serina was sweet, knowledgeable and did such a great job. My hair like I said is pretty curly naturally and washed my hair, scalp and gave me an amazing blow out. When my hair is straightened, it suddenly does not hold a curl very well, and they always tend to fall out. Serina took her time and re-curled my hair when she realized the first curls may not hold as long. She asked me before adding any hair spray and before using a flat iron and she flat ironed to make sure my edges were perfect. She was very kind. I often go to the spa, nail salon, and treat myself, like at least once per week. I hadn't ever gotten a blow-out before but felt like checking it out. I was wearing some clubbing clothes because it was Friday evening and planned to go out. I walked in and two stylists looked at me and completely ignored me. They both gave me dirty looks and refused to acknowledge me. It really seemed I was facing judgement for what I was wearing, which is a joke. The energy of the elitist snobby energy should be left in Scottsdale (which is barely just broke L.A. anyways lol). I'm paying your establishment to provide a service, not the other way around. Someone finally came up and got me checked in which was nice. The stylist came and did my hair but couldn't find the products she needed so she just decided to not use it which resulted in my hair falling flat in less than an hour. This was beyond frustrating from the disrespect from the stylists and unprofessionalism. I live in the area and was going to buy a membership if it turned out well but I can do my own hair far better than what I received last night for free. Not to mention, the off-putting energy and attitude from people who basically work off tips is just self-sabotaging and clearly not behaving like someone who knows how to make any real money, just saying. They definitely don't have a timer for the 10 minute scalp massage add-on, so if 4 minutes feels like 10 to them that's what you get, but you still pay the full price. It's a no-nonsense approach to salon styling: you look through a look book (8 styles to choose from), pick how you'd like them to style your hair and 45 minutes later you will walk out washed, styled and looking fabulous! Dry bar is a great service. I've been here multiple times. The vibe in the salon is great and usually they greet you at the front and provide a welcoming environment. I would say sometimes the services can be a different quality depending on the stylist you have and for the price point that can be a bit disappointing. I've had times where my curls have fallen out the same day of my event and also times when my blowout and style has lasted an entire week. I guess it just depends but I won't be running back for special events due to this inconsistency. read more

As part of the Frozen 2 Blue Ray promotional release, we went to the DryBar Phoenix location for a free blowout. The store was crowded, loud, and full of energy. Both of our hairdressers were extremely sweet but it was difficult to hold a conversation due to the music playing on top of the blow driers. We both left extremely pleased with our blowouts. Tip: the AC is very powerful so make sure to bring a light sweater if you're prone to being cold. read more

I've always been a fan of Drybar... I've been to several of their locations - both in the Phoenix area and while traveling, but as of late, ie: during the pandemic, I've wanted to escape the house and routine, and this location is where I've ended up. I don't have a regular stylist as I don't go often enough, but I've never had a bad blow-out. It's such a treat to walk in with messy hair and walk out with perfectly blown-out hair that lasts for days. I am happy with the precautions they're taking ie: no waiting room, dividers between chairs, masks at all times, etc... On the occasions that I've been able to spend some extra time, I've splurged on the scalp massage extra and highly recommend it! I don't usually take the time to blowout my own hair, so my drybar visits are extra special and make me so happy! It's pricey but worth the splurge on occasion. I highly recommend it and am already looking forward to my future visits! read more

I have been to the drybar a handful of times and it never fails. I hate my hair when I leave. I called for an app yesterday and expressed how none of the stylist have taken what I want into consideration and she told me on the phone she would place me with a stylist who she felt would be best. Upon arrival I showed multiple photos of how my hair is styled day to day. (I wanted a good wash after being on the water so that's why I came in) the guy said no problem. I specifically said "I HATE BARREL CURLS." And I left super unhappy. I swear it's a copy and paste. Save your money. I wasted $85 to have my hair look awful. I became a Barfly at my last visit because I cannot imagine not seeing Taryn every week. The overall experience has been so welcoming every time. If you are a curly girl, request Tiara. She can slay at 3 and 4 A,B,C, D, E, F.... Drybar is a great concept, but not ALWAYS the best option for us curly haired 4B/C girls. I only frequent the location for Tiara. On times I've considered going if she wasn't working, I decided not to because I've seen the work others have done on curly hair and I wasn't pleased. On one occasion, I was disappointed in how one of my fellow curly hair girls walked out and I believe the staff should've never let her pay. As there were multiple professionals in the hair industry in that establishment, someone should've politely informed her that it wasn't their best quality of work, so this one is on the house. I wanted to convince her to not pay for that low quality of work, but I was in the chair. Otherwise, Tiara always have me walking out feeling brand new; so if she ever goes, I'll likely not be back. The staff is usually friendly, I think they could clean a bit more, especially the ceiling. So much dust build up brings my allergy symptoms out. Overall, pretty good experiences. read more

I am a Bar fly member who has about 9 sessions and counting as of now, because I dread going in! It's a hit or miss with Drybar, mostly a miss! Let's start with the front desk person who never reads or passes on the added request portion of the reservation, which then my request are not made or I have to tell the stylist myself that I have a sensitive scalp and would like to NOT have all my hair pulled out. Just to summarize, at this location I've nearly slipped and fell on a pile of hair chilling on the ground, I got a cut behind my left ear at the shampoo bowl because she was Freddy Krueger, I've left with a sore scalp many many occasions, I've had my hair yanked, pulled and lost from the stylist just not caring, I've had my makeup rubbed off because I was nearly drowned at the shampoo bowl, I've walked out with water in my ears, I've had the blow dryer dropped on my head (Hawaii location), the old fashioned style looks different every time because there is no rhyme or reason or consistency with these stylist. This specific location must not be very particular who they hire because the stylist look like they absolutely hate their job and usually their appearance is about as professional as a stained t-shirt...I'm not kidding, that's what I've seen. It's extremely hard to even communicate with the stylist or anyone for that matter because the music is blasting so loud. Honestly, I am really contemplating on cancelling my membership, which is such a let down because I love this concept, and I love not having to do my own hair. :( Good help is hard to find...especially nowadays. read more

First time customer. I had an appointment this Thursday for a blow out. I was super nervous about whether or not this type of service was for me because I have extremely curly, thick hair. Anyways, the online booking was a breeze and I showed up, walked into the salon and fell in love. It was like a little social club. The front desk staff was super friendly as was my stylist. I was offered a drink upon arrival but initially denied. Later on in my appointment I had a green tea lemonade that was super refreshing. I liked the atmosphere of the salon although it was a little noisy because of all the chatter and blow dryers going off at the same time. Anyway, on top of all that they were playing some good tunes and have Love and Basketball showing on the flat screen. I ended up getting the Cosmo-Tai. Something new for me but it turned out super cute. The shampoo and scalp massage was relaxing. I believe I got a bay breeze but to be honest I have no idea what that is or what it did. I kind of wish the process was explained more but I guess it's pretty obvious for people who frequent hair salons. While I got my hair done I was just kind of sitting there on my phone. I was too far from the TV to watch it. Didn't see any magazines near my station and it was too noisy to talk. The blow-dry and style took about 40-45min. Overall, the process was quick and relaxing. I loved the pamper, environment and my hair was super cute at completion. The minute I walked outside it frizzed up and was all poufy and didn't last the car ride home but that is a norm for me and my hair type in this 100 degree weather.I will definitely come back in the cooler months and try again. read more

I live in Phoenix around 1/4 of the year (aka I basically come here monthly) and when I'm in NY Drybar is my go to spot so naturally I had to check of this location. Made a same day appointment on the app and arrived around 15 minutes early. My mom and I were warmly greeted and offered drinks. I found out none of the DB's in AZ service booze like the ones in NY which is no biggie after all I was here to do my hair. I'm a black woman and my hair can be tricky if you're not experienced with AA hair however my stylist did a fabulous job as was extremely sweet. Another reviewer hinted on this place being racist and honestly I can't say I didn't feel that at all. Love it here and will return. read more

The Phoenix location of the Drybar was very nice. I had a 10am appointment on a Sunday -- they open at 10, but they let me come in before 10 instead of waiting outside in the cold. Jordan was very nice and did a great job with the "Floater" (the 10 minute scalp massage) and styling. She helped me decide which style world work well for my situation as well as a back up plan if it want what the first style wasn't what I wanted. Drybar doesn't seem to care about their clients, unfortunately. Just their money. My wife had an appointment for 11/3. She called that morning asking to cancel because she was feeling sick. They refused, and only offered to move it later that day in case she felt better. Just before that time she was in extreme pain and I rushed her to the hospital where she was admitted and stayed there for 4 days. Not only would Drybar not let her cancel but they were willing to risk their staff and other customers health by still allowing a sick customer to come in. They charged us the $49 no show fee and refuse to refund it even considering the circumstances. The charge is on my card, so I called Drybar to ask about it and discuss the situation. THREE TIMES they said the Client Relations Manager would reach out to me to talk about it. Never happened. They are blowing me off and won't call or email me. And there's no direct phone number for me to call the Manager. I was giving Drybar a chance to make it right but they'd rather keep customer money no matter what, and ignore you. read more

Loved, loved, looooved everything about my experience here. They only do blowouts so that's what everyone is there for. Jessica was my stylist and she had suggestions about products and what to do with my hair when I straighten it myself. She did an amazing job with my hair!! I wish I had taken a before shot because I went in with some serious knapp to my head and she was able to really transform it to gorgeous, soft, silky and straightened curls. I got the "Cosmo-tai" and absolutely love it! The aesthetics, the smell, and the attention to detail is something I really appreciated about the place. They do offer wifi, don't have Apple Pay, and have a variety of magazines for you to look at. They offer you water, coffee, or tea and have mini Oreos, teddy Graham's, and animal crackers at the entry table. They also sell their products including their hair dryer and barrel curler which you an also use as a wand. $130 for the curler and $195 for the dryer. The music was chill, a good variety and a good amount of my fave hip-hop. Everyone walked out looking fabulous so I'll definitely be coming back here again, you should too! read more

I asked before my 4 year old daughter started her Shirley temple blow dry service if I would be allowed to stay inside with her while she got it done. The front desk and stylist said yes of course. We went back got her hair washed with masks etc and then when we got back to the stylist chair a woman said I must wait outside for my daughter to finish her hair. It was outrageous and seemed to be racially motivated as I checked when booking and as I arrived that I could be inside with my 4 year old daughter while getting her service done. Thankfully mane attraction salon next door finished my daughters hair and even gifted us a rose. Horrible customer service that took the joy from a 4 year olds birthday celebration. read more

I have gone to this location twice now, and the first time was pretty good! I loved my hair (minus one section the stylist seemed to missed but after styling it differently, I hid it), and it lasted about 4 days with maintenance. The second time I went, I left DryBar with beautiful curls at around 8 pm. When I woke up at 4 am, my curls were completely flat and sad. I had gotten my hair done for a friend's proposal, and it was extremely disappointing to spend over $50 (service + tip) for a ridiculously short-lived blow out. I felt so uncomfortable with my hair that I showered within 24 hours and didn't care about trying to fix the unfixable. What is even more disappointing is the lack of customer care. I called, emailed, completed the survey, and contacted DryBar through Instagram, and I got promises that someone would contact me to address my issue. It is now over two weeks later, and I have not heard from anyone. I cannot believe I spent over $50 for a service that was not rendered, and nobody at the company cares to address it in a timely manner. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because my first experience went well. My second experience was so awful that I cannot recommend DryBar as the first was not worth the second. read more

I cannot explain well enough how much I love this place! I've been to this location four times now and have always left happy and feeling confident. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with smiling faces who quickly get you checked in. Within just a few minutes of arriving you are introduced to your stylist and away you go. You are offered an iced beverage which is usually lemonade, black tea, green tea or cucumber water. The stylist is more than willing to work with you on your style of choice. I always go with the Cosmo Thai as I find it's the perfect amount of curl. The Dry Bar products are my favorite! I love all of them and actually use the Dry Bar Dry Shampoo on a consistent basis. Another awesome aspect is that the stylists alway asks if you are okay with products. I, of course, am but not everyone is this way. A very cool part of Dry Bar, aside from looking and feeling amazing, is that your hair looks good the next day. I can even get a way with a couple days with my style.
