I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was upsetting. During my blowout, the stylist pulled on my hair and scalp so aggressively that the appointment was painful. My scalp was extremely sore afterward, and I remember thinking something didn't feel right. A few days later, I developed a painful scalp infection/folliculitis with swollen lymph nodes in my neck, fever, and significant scalp tenderness. I ended up needing medical treatment and antibiotics. My doctor told me the condition was likely related to the trauma and irritation to my scalp. I understand that some pulling can happen during hair services, but this went far beyond what I would consider normal or acceptable. No client should leave a salon in pain and later require medical treatment. Based on my experience, I will not be returning. read more

A year ago I moved to Houston from Southern California and was anxious to find a stylist that could provide a good blow out. I have alot of hair, its naturally curly, thick and has a lot of texture. Through years of getting my hair done I realized that not everyone knows how to work on hair like mine. I was lucky to have given drybar a try and got paired up with Ariel. Ariel was great and I signed up for the membership. Without fail I was there 2 to 3 times a month. Unfortunately Ariel quit , I then worked with Dejia who was just as wonderful and I would make it a point to book with her. She also quit sigh.. I tried several stylist after and I always always let the front desk know that I had alot of texture and it would have to be someone with experience . The stylists did not do well with my hair . Tons of product was used , lots of time taken and I was being charged an additional 30 dollars on top of my membership fees because the stylist took over 45min . They made it seem like it was my fault that they took longer. The previous stylists Dejia and Ariel got it done and it was great. But the other stylists took over an hour, the blow puts did not last and I was being charged 30 dollars extra! It didn't make sense Needless to say I canceled my membership. read more

I booked 4 appointments while visiting family over the holidays; the cancellation policy says to cancel at least 12 hours to avoid charges; their email to me says to call or visit website to cancel; I got sick and since it was after hours I visited the website and sent email to cancel; their email is clientservicessugarlandinfirstcolony@drybar.com. The manager refused to refund the 240 charges telling me they dont get those emails and I should have called even if they were closed. I told her the email says you can cancel through website and email goes directly to their location but she said they dont and again refused to refund the money. Very poor communication and customer service. Misleading emails. Filed with Texas Board of Cosmetology and Consumer Protection of Texas since information to consumers is misleading. read more

John's wife here. Hana (sp) did my service. I had a facial and wanted to have my hair done afterwards. I have color treated hair. Shampooed twice, which should not have been done, with palm of hand, conditioner only on mid hair to ends of hair, not to the scalp. When it came to the blow out there was no heat dry protectant put on the hair. I would have been better off to do myself and protect my hair. My hair was awful!!!! It wasn't even completely dried because such large pieces were "dried". My words cannot even express how terrible this experience was. She asked if I wanted more curl and I said no because I did not want more heat placed on my hair and wanted to get out of there. Yes, I tipped 20% because she has a daughter who is 9 and I am not a heartless person. I will never return and will never recommend. The person who recommended them, my facial lady, feels terrible and will never send another client there. EDIT: not "all was well" while in the shop. As expressed I wanted to get out of there. What was I to do, be unkind to the person who checked me out? "All was well" because I was not huffy? Of course they will say to you, the shop manager, that "all was well". I'm not new to Drybar. I tend to use Drybar for events as a way to pamper myself. Today I tried to cosmo-tai per the recommendation of my stylist vs the dirty martini that I originally wanted. The wash was great and the service was awesome, what really disspointed me was that my hair was flat by the start of the event which was a hour and a half later. I never had that happen to my hair before. I have super thick hair and I have photos of my blowouts taken at 9pm still looking fantastic after 10 hours in the past. I never get to pamper myself and for $80 (service, tip and a upcharge for liquid glass) I expected my hair to last. My sister-in laws curls she did herself lasted all throughout the day vs my blowout. I love blow dry bars and I own several drybar products, but I may skip this location. read more

This is my favorite place in Sugarland to get a blowout. They always do the best job on my hair and the products they use smell so good. I finally ended up getting a month membership with them, which I regret not doing sooner. I have 3 daughters so I am able to use my monthly blowouts on them as well!! I'm from out of town and came to get a blowout for my birthday celebration with family and friends. I requested the old fashioned blowout. When she finished, it wasn't as bouncy as the picture but was still pretty. After 30 minutes my hair was flat. I cried, before my birthday celebration. I have no idea how do my hair and was thinking I was going to a professional to make me look beautiful. I just can't believe it.... i would've preferred to be informed that an amateur was doing my hair and maybe I would receive some supplemental assistance if need be. I will say the stylist was very nice and had a sweet demeanor but I would recommend further training to not be tough on a customers head and some additional training. read more

Lauren is extremely disrespectful. I came in to get my hair straightened and she was very stand off ish in the very beginning. Once I was ready to pay she charged me full price. I explained to her I've been there several times and if I wash my hair prior that the price is cheaper. She then started to belittle me in front of her staff and I told her I will just pay. After I left about 30min later my hair was curly and oily from all the things she placed in my hair. I even told her not to because it makes my hair look oily and gross. So, I went back in and showed her and she said she's busy and she will get to me when she can. 30minutes later she has still ignored me and I looked at her and said I was just going to leave. She said "bye then" and waved me away. Such an ugly personality and I don't understand how she's the GM. I tried to resolve this by contacting Christina via email and after weeks I still haven't heard back. I called the store to see if there was anyone else I could escalate this matter and Lauren grabs the phone to tell me it's just her and Christina. I said thanks and she said "uh huh byyye". I've frequented other Drybar locations, but this was my first experience at the Sugar Land salon. My stylist was nice enough, but I felt like she might have been new because she seemed to mind & very unsure of what she was doing. When she was washing my hair, it felt like she was nervous to even touch my head. After two shampoos & conditioner, I feel like I need to go home & rewash my hair because I do not feel clean. I asked for the Mai Tai style, which is soft beach waves, but my waves have too much product & do not have the "soft" effect. While my hair looks good from the side, I'm unsure how the shape of my hair from the front is attractive or acceptable. When I asked if she could fix the front, she simply put oil in my hair & brushed it through, making the over product feeling even worse. Overall, I was not impressed with my service & do not feel like it was worth my time or money. Especially since I'll likely have to rewash my hair on my own tomorrow morning. read more

I booked an appointment for 4:30 and I showed up at 4:42. The lady at the front who claims to be the assistant manager. Stated that I would still be charged for a no show/cancellation even though I am here. So they are charging me for a service and no show (even with me being here). I asked for corporate information and she claims she does not know it but will pass my information to the manager. I would not recommend this place and will be calling my bank about this charge. Went here with my mom, as a treat for her, as she used to love going to salons when I was a child. She has recently developed dementia, but she continues to talk about how much fun she had reliving her old salon patron days. her stylist did an amazing job, and was extremely kind and patient with her, and her hair looked great! My stylist was also lovely and made my hair look beautiful for our special occasion. I recommend getting the crown tonic if you go, it includes a scalp massage, and is awesome! read more

Do not recommend! Our hair didn't even last an hour. I have the pictures to prove it. I asked to come back and get it fixed since there was still time before our event and they didn't offer me this. At 5pm they said they had no appts booked for the rest of the day so most of their stylists left for the day even though they are supposed to be open till 8pm. Manager didn't offer any compensation for our dissatisfaction and in fact said that Drybar does not guarantee any satisfaction and it is in their policy that all services are non-refundable. And they charge you before the services . IMO, if you get your hair done professionally, it should last more than an hour if you don't mess with it. Very disappointing and very poor customer service. read more

This place is not friendly to walkins Update on Sept 30th Dry Bar offered me $20 off to try their service again. I asked for MoTown hair for a party that I'm attending. My stylist Eric was very nice and took his time styling my hair. Given my positive experience today, I will probably come here again in the future. I asked for super tight curls so by my evenings event they would fall into loose waves. By the time I walked to my car my hair was straight. The stylist barely sprayed it down after I asked her to apply extra for hold. I been coming to this place due to Sarah's amazing customer service. I have very curly hair and was a bit afraid at first but Sarah always did my hair the way I asked for and that was the reason for me to come. I came a few days before Christmas Eve to get my hair done but Sarah was not there and instead I got Vanesa . I then got worried because not everyone can make a nice blowout on curly hair and my suspicions where correct. Vanessa was telling me she would have to use blow dryer and curly iron to make sure my curls stay on due to the weather. I told her that Sarah was able to do it and it was raining that day. She then told me she was going to be able to get it done . During the blowout phase I realize that she was not sure how to handle my hair even though she had curly hair herself. I felt that she was burning my scalp and I never felt that with Sarah but I ignored it because I wanted my hair to look nice. Not only that she took way too-long and caused double damaged on my hair because she also used the curly iron which at first I didn't mind because I thought I would get the same results I always do. I kept telling her to make my curls more big and she kept saying sure. Then she asked me like if I was the hairstylist if she should brush them out and I told her that Sarah never does that. Anyways I left with my hair completely flat after 30 minutes of my service . I wanted to go back to get my hair done with Sarah but instead bought a Dyson. We are usually a walk in or I schedule online. The appointments are usually for my twin girls, 13 years old. The service is quick we are usually in and out in about 2 hours max. The manager is super sweet and very accommodating my girls love her. drybar is a Sugar Land location first colony Mall I went on the 31st to get a blowout and my appointment was at 5:30 I wasn't seen until 630 then did not get out of Drybar until 830 whenever I left and got into my car and got home my hair was already frizzy I use one of my member services blowout which I wish I never did because it was a waste and my hair had to be washed the next day I wrote a review for someone to call me regarding the situation and no one has called me then I noticed three days ago that I was signed up for a monthly $45 fee that I never agreed to and never signed up for and I was being charge since May every month That I never agreed to I have left three days of messages for the district manager to call me and no one has returned my call in three days I asked to speak to someone regarding the charges that I did not authorize and no one has given me a call back. there is not an email address and there is no telephone number that I can call to speak to someone there's no corporate number for me to speak to someone so I am being charged monthly for a fee that one can't be canceled too I never authorized and I need the refund for that because I never authorized that I had monthly membership blowouts that I was using every time that I went I had a lot of blowouts left credits since Covid because I wasn't going often I cancel my membership with Drybar and wanted to just use the rest of the blowouts and not sign another monthly service with you guys and now I I found out that I was signed up unknowingly since May and I can't speak to anyone regarding this. I am extremely upset with the service I am extremely upset with not the ability to speak to someone I don't understand how you guys have a company and the customers cannot speak to a manager a district manager or a corporate or anything I just don't understand I was a member with Drybar Sugarland for over three years since before Covid and this is the worst service ever.
