We dropped by Drylands on the way from Hobbs to Clovis. There was street construction but we were determined to eat there and found a parking space. The atmosphere was very Brewskie with loads of beers on tap and a large bar. Industrial concrete vibe. The waitress was wonderful - we enjoyed two glasses of a New Mexico Pinot Grigio, a grilled chicken salad and a Tree Hugger pizza. It was bountiful! THE GRUB My significant other cowboy ordered the "Urlager" because it was the closest thing to his Keystone. He wasn't a fan. No More, I rode into town dusty and tired from the trail, I kicked up my boots and looked at the beer list, decided I'd start with the Urlager, for NM rookies Brian Urlacher, grew up in these parts before he was a Monster of the Midway he cut his football teeth under the Friday night lights of Lovington. This is why I'm here tonight. My son is one of the visiting teams tonight in Lovington! Anyway back to the beer. The Urlacher was a beautiful golden color and the taste was like little angels stroking my tastebuds! I felt a tad hungry and started a lively conversation with the locals at the bar it was recommended that the best beer brewed in Lovington was the Drylands English Copper Ale. So I ordered a pint with my new bud along with a green Chile cheeseburger, I'm not one for perfect beer pairings but this worked. My girlfriend and I stopped by Drylands to meet some friends during a recent trip to southeastern NM. I had previously visited the brewery shortly after they opened several years ago, and it was a nice experience. I find it fascinating that a cool brewpub opened in a such a conservative little town. It was an incredibly hot Saturday afternoon, and our initial order of Alien Amber and a concoction of frozen white wine and strawberry thoroughly hit the spot. I moved on to the "Urlager" (shout out 54), and it was absolutely perfect: crisp, light, and full of flavor. My girl transitioned to a red wine. Her first glass came from a bottle that had obviously been open way too long, and our server cheerfully brought out a new bottle. The chips and salsa were solid, and a slice of our friend's flatbread showed great artisan quality. The service was friendly and fantastic, the atmosphere was pure NM laidback, and the food and drinks very good. This is a great place, and I wish them continued success. read more

Very happy that in this small town they have a brewery doing things right. 1st a large selection of home crafted beers/ciders. They do have wine but it's the beers that shine or hop if you prefer. Staff is friendly and were very quick with the orders. They have multiple items not on the menu (just ask about them). The flat bread (doc holiday) is a bbq chicken with the basil sauce evening out the sweetness. Ask for Marlyena she does a fabulous job. Tree Hugger pizza with added Italian Sausage, Cali Girl flatbread, Drylands burger, add-on Siracha wings, meatball appetizer, and Drylands UrLager beer! The food was delicious! The meatball appetizer is designed for 4 people; four slices of bread, 8 meatballs in cheese, and lots of marinara for scooping - we devoured it! My pizza was thin-crust and the best thing we ordered. The beer, surprisingly, was great - my husband HATES craft beer but he really liked this one along his burger (although a little too sweet for me.) The fries that came with my husband's burger was a little greasy but tasted good. The Siracha wings were good but not stand-out. My daughter's flatbread was very good and crispy. Everything was good, most of it was stand-out for this area. A few misses but still, it was very good. Our service was excellent. I definitely recommend Drylands. The atmosphere was probably the best part of the whole experience. Awesome ambiance, live music was good, and the service was ok. We were super disappointed with our pizzas. we ordered the margarita, it had almost no cheese on it and very little flavor. We also ordered the saber tooth, lots of meat, but again, little flavor to distinguish it from any frozen pizza you might buy at the supermarket. The beer was decent. First time to visit and loved it. Waitress was super attentive and personable. We got the Sabertooth pizza and fresh pork skins with siracha dipping sauce. It was fabulous! Hubby got the beer flights to try. They came on a cute board with the names of the beer written in chalk. Great selection of local beers to try. Came on a Sunday at noon and got a seat at the bar. This is definitely the coolest looking restaurant in Lovington! It's very new and the feel of the restaurant is pretty hipster for New Mexico. There are two areas of the restaurant, the bar and regular dine in. The bar area has TVs and plenty of seating as well, even if you aren't drinking. There are a lot of options of the menu that make this a good choice for a group of people with varying taste buds! Service was good and the food didn't take too long to come out, which was surprising for a Saturday night. For appetizers, we got the Italian nachos and cheesy bread. They are both good but pretty small. As for the pizzas, the 16inch has 8 large slices. We had the Zia (taco pizza- pretty spicy and a must try!), Margherita (nothing special), and the Sabertooth (tons of meat, the boys loved it). I've been to a handful of restaurants in town when visiting family and this is definitely the best one I've been to! Must try! read more

When we walked in, being from out of town, we weren't sure where to go and what to do without any assistance from any employee. Fun exterior and trendy industrial interior, but the welcome from the crew was half assed. Trying to figure out the beer menu behind the bar was like pulling teeth until it was pointed out that there is an electronic menu with more details in a corner. Not a fan of their brews, but they have a fantastic selection from other NM breweries. At $6/pint for guest taps seems a bit high. We are old and eat early but still couldn't make it for happy hour which is from 2-4. Maybe it is for the kids getting out of school. Salad was crisp and fresh with fancy greens and an adequate amount of toppings. The pizza was fine, thin crust, lots of cheese in relation to the crust and barely enough of the other toppings. The sticky floor gave me heebie jeebies; make me wonder how clean the rest of operation is. A bit more attention to detail would make this a gem. read more

Absolutely the worse experience I've ever had in a restaurant! We were a group of 4 that ordered 3 salads & a pizza. The salads were brought out 15 minutes after ordering, the pizza never came out. We waited in excess of 1 hour. After several apologies from our waitress we were unfortunate enough to speak to the owner, Daniel. We explained that we had been waiting for a long time, instead of apologizing he presented himself as very defensive & arrogant. He walked to the kitchen & ten minutes later he came strolling through the restaurant drinking a glass of tea. He never came back to our table to update us, no apologies, nothing! The 3 of us that ordered salads never took a bite, being respectful waiting until everyone received their meal. Our salads sat in front of us for 45 minutes. Needless to say we walked out on our ticket. The owner was not concerned with us, his responses were disrespectful. I will never enter this property again. Daniel- you need an attitude adjustment. Learn to respect the customers instead of talking down to them. Please Daniel, quit walking with that strut. You are not a badass. Andres and his staff are bringing a modern microbrewery vibe to Lovington and I dig it! You've got to try the treehugger pizza.
