The Bar staff is beyond nice and quick pourers!!!

Drylands are defined by a scarcity of water. Drylands are zones where precipitation is balanced by evaporation from surfaces and by transpiration by plants. And at Drylands Brewing company, you don't need water. You can survive on the beer alone. I used to think that the best thing about Lovington NM was Hobbs. No More, I rode into town dusty and tired from the trail, I kicked up my boots and looked at the beer list, decided I'd start with the Urlager, for NM rookies Brian Urlacher, grew up in these parts before he was a Monster of the Midway he cut his football teeth under the Friday night lights of Lovington. This is why I'm here tonight. My son is one of the visiting teams tonight in Lovington! Anyway back to the beer. The Urlacher was a beautiful golden color and the taste was like little angels stroking my tastebuds! I felt a tad hungry and started a lively conversation with the locals at the bar it was recommended that the best beer brewed in Lovington was the Drylands English Copper Ale. So I ordered a pint with my new bud along with a green Chile cheeseburger, I'm not one for perfect beer pairings but this worked. Bottom line, if you ever find yourself in Lovington this should be your first stop. You start your SE NM adventure on the right foot!

My girlfriend and I stopped by Drylands to meet some friends during a recent trip to southeastern NM. I had previously visited the brewery shortly after they opened several years ago, and it was a nice experience. I find it fascinating that a cool brewpub opened in a such a conservative little town. It was an incredibly hot Saturday afternoon, and our initial order of Alien Amber and a concoction of frozen white wine and strawberry thoroughly hit the spot. I moved on to the "Urlager" (shout out 54), and it was absolutely perfect: crisp, light, and full of flavor. My girl transitioned to a red wine. Her first glass came from a bottle that had obviously been open way too long, and our server cheerfully brought out a new bottle. The chips and salsa were solid, and a slice of our friend's flatbread showed great artisan quality. The service was friendly and fantastic, the atmosphere was pure NM laidback, and the food and drinks very good. This is a great place, and I wish them continued success.

Plenty of parking, full kitchen, in house brews and guest breweries available in package and draft. Clean and friendly staff.

12 craft beers on tap that they brewed.

Very happy that in this small town they have a brewery doing things right. 1st a large selection of home crafted beers/ciders. They do have wine but it's the beers that shine or hop if you prefer. Staff is friendly and were very quick with the orders. They have multiple items not on the menu (just ask about them). The flat bread (doc holiday) is a bbq chicken with the basil sauce evening out the sweetness. Ask for Marlyena she does a fabulous job. Oh yea they have an out door cat - DRY LANCE that is the friendliest cat I've ever seen.

First time to visit and loved it. Waitress was super attentive and personable. We got the Sabertooth pizza and fresh pork skins with siracha dipping sauce. It was fabulous! Hubby got the beer flights to try. They came on a cute board with the names of the beer written in chalk. Great selection of local beers to try. Came on a Sunday at noon and got a seat at the bar. Would highly recommend! We will be back to try more on the menu for sure.

Good food. Good environment. Friendly staff. Plenty of drink choices. This is a welcome place to eat in otherwise limited area consisting mostly of fast food offerings.

This is definitely the coolest looking restaurant in Lovington! It's very new and the feel of the restaurant is pretty hipster for New Mexico. There are two areas of the restaurant, the bar and regular dine in. The bar area has TVs and plenty of seating as well, even if you aren't drinking. There are a lot of options of the menu that make this a good choice for a group of people with varying taste buds! Service was good and the food didn't take too long to come out, which was surprising for a Saturday night. For appetizers, we got the Italian nachos and cheesy bread. They are both good but pretty small. As for the pizzas, the 16inch has 8 large slices. We had the Zia (taco pizza- pretty spicy and a must try!), Margherita (nothing special), and the Sabertooth (tons of meat, the boys loved it). I've been to a handful of restaurants in town when visiting family and this is definitely the best one I've been to! Must try!

This place is a gem for the area. Very friendly staff and professional service with great food. The atmosphere is good, as well. Family friendly.

Alien Amber. George Jetson would like.

Very good selection of beer at reasonable prices. A gentleman sitting next to me at the bar made the same observation. He also had a meatball sandwich; when I asked him how it was he was all smiles. The menu has a good variety of items.

Just the bar side where you can sit for food. Behind me is the more "restaurant" type setting.

Our waitress came on over right away and dropped off menus and took our drink orders. We had two horchatas. We decided to pick from the menu and not go with the buffet they offer for lunch. The buffet in my opinion did not look fresh and did not have enough options. I ordered a chicken tostada and the flautas entree, while my friend ordered a smothered chicken chimichanga. My chicken tostada was soggy by the time it made itself my way. It was loaded with beans, chicken, lettuce, and some other toppings so it broke when I picked it up. My chicken flautas were plain and just missing flavor. My friends chimi was superr salty and so she decided not to eat it. Our drinks sat empty for sometime and when we looked for our server she was sitting at a booth talking to what seemed her friend. So I waved her down to get some refills. The horchata was pretty good!! We needed boxes and she never came back to us so so we grabbed the ones from the buffet line. Food wasn't all that great and the service was ehhh..

I'll get to my CONS out of the way: - limited hours on Saturdays & Sundays (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) - credit card fee of 3.5% and I did NOT see this posted at the register - No buffet on Saturdays - chips and salsa are NOT complimentary ($6.99) My daughters and I came here for lunch for a girls day out before Mother's Day 2026 since we were spending time with family on Sunday. My dish: Tacos a la Parilla ($14.99 for 3 soft tacos with grilled brisket, guacamole, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes) served with rice and beans. Absolutely delicious. I would get this again. My oldest daughter also had a brisket taco plate ($14.99) but the crispy variety without jalapeno or pico de gallo. My youngest daughter opted for a cheeseburger ($13.89) with fries ($2.00). If those weren't fresh hand-cut fries I would be surprised. They were yummy. Slightly crisp. Not too oily. The burger I would have eaten all by myself with its buttery fluffy buns. This is a close first place for burgers in Lovington with Lazy 6 being its competition. Their horchata was divine ($4.25 × 2). My youngest was happy with her sweet tea ($3.75). Loved the vibes inside. The ceilings and lighting fixtures were very interesting. Not overly decorated. Good Mexican music playing at a good decibel. All of the staff members we interacted with were friendly. Restrooms and parking were good. I'll be a repeat offender.

People were coming and going. Our server came on over right away, took our drink orders, and brought over some chips and salsa. The chips were delicious and the red salsa was so good! We were a party of 5 and we all decided to try something different. We ordered: One caldo de res (with rice) One menudo (w tortillas) One order of the chicken flautas (salad, guacamole) One mixed fajitas (rice and beans) One order of the Carne Asada tacos (beans) One order of tacos de alambre (rice and beans) Two Mexican sodas, one lemonade, one Dr. pepper Our total came out to be $73. Our food came out one by one and so we all ate at different times. The food though was delicious! The menudo is great and I loved that it was cooked well. The tacos de alambre are seasoned perfectly and the meat is super juicy. The chicken flautas were stuffed with chicken and they were perfect when dipping into the red salsa. We all enjoyed our food and left stuffed. It was busy though, so it was definitely hard to grab our servers attention whenever we needed anything.. Portions are pretty big so come hungry!

Baja Grill in Lovington, NM, was on my bookmarks for a long time. It was well worth the wait! At around 1:45 pm, I walked into a nearly empty restaurant. I was seated right away and served some very good red salsa and crispy, semi-thick homemade tortilla chips. I liked the variety of high-top and normal-height tables. I knew as soon as I saw "blackened tilapia" on the menu I had to have it. "Served on a bed of rice pila" ($12.99), it also came with my choice of two sides. The charro beans and fried okra were excellent! While my fish wasn't the freshest, the seasoning was really delicious. The outer edges were crispy, but inside the fish was flaky and moist. I also ordered a refreshing Sprite. Paid cash. Got just a little less than $4 back. Service was nice, but my waitress only checked on me after she realized I was ready to go. The food is fairly unique to Lea County. I can see why my employees like this place. I'm glad I had a lot on my mind that day... Really dumb parking lot, though. No painted lines so everyone just parks like idiots. And it's rather dull on the outside. Hard to easily recognize that it's a place that serves seafood. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 2 PARKING The huge white building has parking all around it. LOCATION/AMBIANCE When you walk in there is a ranch-style home vibe. The old register was something I overheard the owner had found like 30 years prior in a shop in Roswell -- and it's still in good working condition! The ceilings are high. There were family photos adorning the walls and counters. The restroom needs a little work. It was difficult to get one of the sink handles to close properly - no wonder the water was running when I walked in... and the restrooms are a bit weird to get to as they are way far in the back. THE GRUB I had heard their onion rings were delicious, but I was only feeling a patty melt ($10) and a side of avocado ($2.50) and a jalapeno ($1). The patty melt was not hardly greasy at all, but lacked a bit of flavor. My waitress cut up my avocado and jalapeno like I was a child which made me laugh. It was a good lunch with my lemonade served in a large styrofoam takeout cup (which had to have been around $2.50 because my grand total was $17 and some change). Their drinks were not listed on the menu that I received. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB They do have a kid's menu currently (as of 9/19/2023) with chicken, chicken strips, steak fingers, or a taco with "avocado and nothing else!" (Their words, not mine.) SERVICE Service was okay. They took a while to get to me which I find to be absolutely reprehensible. I sat near the prep station and was passed by multiple employees so I'm not sure why even getting my drink order took so long. The employees, however, were on their phones and/or fratenizing with each other a bit too much for my liking. MY FAVORITE PART... The atmosphere. Aside from the year-round Christmas decor. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The price. Pretty steep for such a no-frills lunch if you ask me. Probably won't be back for a long time for that reason. TIPS + Cash only. + They have a drive-thru window.
