Of the other insulation companies I had contacted in the Sacramento area, Evergreen was the most prompt and professional. We needed new insulation for our crawlspace and updated insulation in our attic as recommended by a home inspector/structural engineer. We're glad we did because it feels less drafty in our home and the southwest corner of our house no longer bakes in the afternoon. My husband was very pleased when working with Ruben. Ruben clearly explained the issues in our attic i.e. accumulated heat, lacked ventilation, and the 70 year insulation had deteriorated, and made suggestions on what could be done. We were given multiple quotes to work within our budget. We are very happy with Ruben and crew's work as it is held to a very high standard. As a bonus, the crew vacuumed our garage because it was being used for equipment storage. They left it cleaner than when them came.

They told us that it was out of stock and was delayed by six weeks. I called Home Depot and they said they had some great ones in stock and under $1500. We paid over $4k for everything. They didn't test the fan before leaving and took weeks to get them to respond. Turned out they had a big job in San Jose and couldn't be bothered. We had to call the manufacturer and my husband had to scale around the beams to get to the fan to sync the Bluetooth. Today, pest control found a dead rat in the trap and Atticman gave us a quote to fix their crap job. Airflow going from duct to duct instead of mixing box with duct tape that's fallen off.

I left a voicemail yesterday morning, Jose called back a few hours later, and we made an appointment for this morning. He called before leaving the job prior to my appointment, and arrived at the estimated time. He went up to look at the leak area, and assured us that it will be OK to let it to dry out. My husband asked him to look around the attic, to see if there was anything that needed to be done. He noticed an area around a water heater pipe that for safety reasons shouldn't have insulation, and removed what had fallen in around the pipe. He thought we could add some new insulation material after we repaired the roof leak, to fill in areas that have been lost due to workers and rats moving insulation around . We hope to call him back next Summer to discuss this project. (Previous review: We didn't do it last time, because we wanted to wait until we knew there were no more rats up there. The work was a two day process from cleaning out the existing insulation from the attic and adjusting the ductwork, to sanitizing and air sealing all the cracks inside and outside, and filling with R-49 insulation. From the entrance of the house to the attic access, they spent the time putting down a barrier to prevent any mess to the rest of the house. They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. After several days of frustrating phone calls trying to find someone to remove the old rat infested insulation from a 1939 home we were remodeling, a neighbor recommended Pedro for the job. Cute but pesky squirrels built a nest at the top of the tall column on my front porch using…read moreshredded cedar from my garden. Then they started gnawing through stucco and into the substructure. I tried various humane ways to get rid of them, from squirts from my hose to my impersonation of a wild predator, which amused my neighbor but wasn't effective. Finally I called Good Life. The technician they dispatched cleared out the nest and repaired the damaged stucco. He did an awesome job matching the existing stucco color. Then he applied a pest solution he called "hot foot" which apparently squirrels hate. It worked. The squirrels haven't been back. As an added bonus, the technician changed the second story light bulbs above my porch that required a super long ladder and some risky, heart stopping maneuvering near the top rung. He fearlessly accomplished the task for which I truly grateful. He installed LED lights with a 40-year lifespan so they should outlast me. Thank you, Good Life. Great work!
