My regular mechanic was busy, so called these guys for a clicking noise I was hearing in the front. Dropped off car before they opened, and got a call from day around noon, saying could not identify cause of front noise, but have noticed rear brakes need replacement. Asked how long it may take as I had to be somewhere by 4PM. It was promised to be ready by 3, no need to call, just show up. Got there at 3 and car still on lift with tires off. repeatedly asked how long it may take and response kept being soon. Did not leave the shop until about 3:45 or so and missed the appointment I needed to get to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their price was on par with my regular mechanic, but communication definitely was not on par. They could have easily notified me that it will a bit longer, of if not able to do it when initially called, tell me instead of being worried they may lose some money.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Giving them a 3 as their work itself seems to be Ok, for now but I doubt I will be coming back here again as their communication leaves a lot to be desired[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

Do not bring your car here for anything more then an oil change. I brought my car here last week to have a ticking noise checked out, and to have an oil change done. The head honcho, Rob, called me and told me the ticking went away upon changing of the oil. This was a complete lie. Upon getting into my car, the ticking was arguably worse than it was when dropping the car off. Rob told me the issue was nothing to worry about and to let him know if it got any worse. Not even 4 days after this happened, with no warning, the rod bearings blew on the car, sending metal all throughout the engine. The car will now need an engine replacement, and is virtually useless until that is done. I brought my car in for the issue to be resolve, or at the bare minimum, diagnosed. instead, there was no diagnosis, and instead I was told to just keep an eye on it - and if it got worse, to let them know, as they would happily give me a quote on tearing the car down to diagnose the issue. I brought the car to BMW, and without tearing anything down, that effortlessly diagnosed the now, much worse problem. It would have been splendid if Rob and his crew did any kind of analysis on the car (which was requested), for it would have saved me 10's of thousands of dollars. I want to give a special thanks to Rob and his team for their neglect to the issue that I brought my car in for, as it has now lead to a much larger and much worse issue. I'm not sure if this was a lack of knowledge on their part, or some form of intentional neglect in hopes I would bring the car back to them for a more expensive repair - but whatever it is, I will never, ever, ever, bring one of my cars to DSC auto again. read more

Great service every time! Weather it's a simple tire rotation and oil change. To finding out why my car was leaking coolant. They know what their doing and will get it fixed if your willing to spend the money (depending on the car)! Even then the prices are more than reasonable for the simple stuff. Story time. My car would only leak coolant at certain times and I couldn't find the leak and at first they couldn't either. Thought it was the head gasket but nope! It passed pressure tests time and time again! And the cylinders had carbon in them so the head gasket was good. But later on they put a camera under the hood and drove it for a few minutes. As it turns out one of the coolant hoses to the reservoir would loosen up when the engine gets hot and as the pressure rises it would spray a small amount of coolant! But when the engine was cold or not on (as it would be during the pressure tests) the hose was sealed and nothing leaked! They put in a new hose and it's good as new! Great work as always! 100% recommend! read more

Of course I did not, I brought my car to DCS for maintenance service and mentioned to Rod, because all four tires pressure were inflated properly. I've been using DSC Auto in Westboro, MA for a number of years now. The search for a new service provider started when my car dealer was bought out a number of times and went from being very good to a company I could not trust. I bring in my Prius, DCE goes through it from top to bottom and does what is needed. They are both honest and competent. I no longer have unpleasant surprises every time I bring in my car and for items that never showed an issue or should not fail at that milage or get a story that makes no sense. When it comes to the actual service provided by DCS, there has never been an issue, unlike with the dealer. I don't often leave reviews, but they are so great, I had to tell everyone! read more

I have been bringing our cars to DSC for a long time now but had a recent experience that reconfirmed why Dan, Rob and crew are so awesome. If you don't want to read the story below, just know you are getting the most honest, hardworking, trustworthy, knowledgeable guys in the business when dealing with them. REPEAT!!!! I brought my 2020 Ford Explorer in for an oil change. Rob called me when it was ready but said that I should bring it to the dealership (the car was still under warranty) because the boot on the right cv axel was cracked and leaking grease. I called Ford and was able to get an appt that day. I told them exactly what Rob had told me. Ford had it for 4 hours (apparently there was also a recall issue with the transmission oil cooler). They called and said it was ready and that the recall issue had been fixed but that they didn't find any issue with the cv axel. I was surprised so I called Rob to let him know and he said he would be happy to look at it again and to bring it by the next day. When I picked my car up from Ford, I reconfirmed that there was no issue with the cv axel and the manager told me "No, the transmission oil cooler was probably causing oil to spew all over". I called Rob the next morning to let him know that I didn't need to bring it by because Ford said it was the recall issue that was causing the mess with the cv axel. Rob told me that would only make sense if it was oil on the cv axel not grease and he said he would be happy to throw it up on the lift if I wanted to bring it by. I did - and he showed me exactly what was as wrong. It was as clear as day. I immediately brought it over to Ford. They put it up on their lift and admitted that it was absolutely leaking - in their words "a blind man could have noticed that." My review for Ford is entirely separate and how that played out. Again, my point here is that Rob and Dan go so far beyond what is expected and are just the MOST honest and trustworthy people. It feels so good knowing that they are there and have your back - always! Can't recommend them enough!!!! read more

This place is wonderful! They are so friendly and patient with their customers. I brought in my 2010 Volkswagen Beetle to them after a disastrous experience at Colonial Volkswagen in Westborough. They fixed my headlight and gave me an oil change within an hour! They even pointed out to be that Colonial Volkswagen broke my control panel and fixed it for me free of charge! I randomly found this mechanic for my husband one day when he was in a panic about some light that popped up on his BMW 3 series. The rest was history. Dan and his wife are good quality people; amazing to work with. Justin now goes to him for everything (I think he would show up just to hang out) and dan always fits him in. They always seem wicked busy, but dan can help him out time after time. His prices are very reasonable and I've never trusted a mechanic more than him. He knows his stuff, and gets it done on time. This is the first issue I've had with my new (to me) VW EOS and I don't currently have a regular mechanic so I was a bit nervous about looking for a mechanic I could trust, and in a hurry. Thanks to all the reviews on yelp I found DSC Auto. I was able to bring my car in the same day which just happened to be a Friday afternoon. After taking a look at it, Rob explained to me what the issue was and expressed concerns about it breaking down on me if I drove it home and used it for the weekend so he offered me a loaner car for the weekend regardless of whether I decided to have the garage fix it or not. He also spoke to my BF at length on the phone to explain the problem so we both felt comfortable and understood the problems. He is extremely knowledgeable which made me very confident in his assessment of the problem. Very late at writing this review! Back in december, when I left the shop with the satisfaction, I had decided to write review for this place. A day before visiting DSC Auto, I took my honda accord to the dealer for airbag light coming on dashboard. Apart from faulty seatbelt switch, I was told that one of the wheel speed sensors was not working properly and that it would need to be replaced (not replacing would cause ABS and traction control to fail). When I took the car to DSC Auto, Dan pinpointed the exact problem and solved it without replacing any parts! He also recommended to replace ball joints which were worn out as I was going for a long drive next day. I really appreciate that he worked on my car until 9pm that day to make it available for travel next day. Thank you! read more

Time to write another review showcases Dan's awesomeness. I was on my way visiting a friend this month but my car broke down just outside of Albany, NY. I texted Dan and got his response quickly (it was 10 pm already); he diagnosed the issue through phone and to my surprise, he also told me he could come over the next day with tools and parts. How awesome is that?! I was truly amazed and speechless when he said that because I was so frustrated at the moment: I was staying at a place I'm unknown with, car was towed to a shop that I had no idea if they could fix my car right on time or not; and not to mention, Dan has to drive four hours round way. In the end, how often do you hear about things like this? The next day, Dan came as promised, and the issue with the car was exactly like what he predicted: the serp belt got torn up. This is a rather rare issue, but Dan had the knowledge and he fixed my car without a problem. I am very thankful for what he did and people who have heard about my story were also amazed, I can't imagine what could happen if he didn't come to rescue me; I could easily spent a lot more time, money and energy on this incident. Dan's shop is the only place I go for any service or repair on my car; since owning this car I've been to his shop for numerous maintenance services and upgrades, every single time I was treated with the same high level of quality and friendly service.
