Don't go anywhere else! We've been long time customers and they have never steered us wrong or screwed us. Recently I had my car at Webster square auto for tires and he said I needed front brakes $650, knowing that is absolutely insane I made appointment with Matt and Kurt. They told me back brakes needed to be done ASAP front could get me a few more months if I wanted to wait. I paid $720 for front AND back pads and rotors. This shop was about 30mi from me, and I went to it after 4 other shops gave me a totally contradictory diagnosis and pricing on my 2002 SC430 Lexus' raspy/loud noise. They are careful about booking well ahead, so I wouldn't use them for 'walk in service'! I was a little intimidated by the brusque, no nonsense q and a from the shop write up staffer. He seemed a bit like the actor J.K Simmons (in "Whiplash", Farmers Insurance, etc) and didn't seem to want to look at my paperwork or notes from other shops (see below). Took him a min to find my 'reservation' but wished me well on my bike ride home! Called them 11am, and got connected to actual shop tech, with prices which sounded fair, esp. compared to others' (again, see below). Went back to get car same day, complete, and saved $300 vs Lou's Marlboro. Unless the whole darn thing falls off the body from rust/age, this sounds great, and I can't tell if it's my wacky brain marbles frazzling, but I'd swear the car is running far more sweetly than before the operation! Properly run shops do happen...apparently exhaust work is like a plumber's craft, and you've got a lot of other shops who could care less about quality and quick turnaround, much less pricing. I hope these guys can stick around when ev's rule the world...maybe they'l learn how to swap batteries/engines into petrol vehicles. FOR NOW, this seems to be the best shop going in E/C. MA, afaict! Oh, and after I got a engine light (catalyst below spec code) and exhaust rasped and boomed, these are the fizzled other shops that were either much more money or just not interested/capable of handling the work: Pep boys: oh you need a cat back system ($1500-$6000) Lexus (on phone): Exhaust system is $6000 plus! Performance Engine (Ashland): tried to get parts but couldn't figure out how to get them for my car-referred to Lou's! Lou's (Waltham): total jerk attitude "I've been at this trust me 20 years you'll never get that cat engine light off even if I make a Y pipe for 2 grand...get rid of your car" (NEVER TRUST THIS SHOP..or any ONE shop, for just these b.s reasons above. They make stuff up to avoid dealing with your issues b/c they basically 'cant be bothered"! Lou's (Marlborough): I can do the Y pipe and remove front part of rusted clamps pipes etc, for $800, then intimated my back pipes (before the muffler) would be needing work soon-aka a few hundred more! read more

Had heard great things about Quality Muffler, but didn't need the service until now. Was quoted over $900 by my dealership for a flex pipe repair. My local mechanic suggested Quality and estimated they might charge $200. I called and got an appointment one week away. I was told to have the car there by 9 am. At 8:45 am, I received a call that the work was done at a cost of $125. No gimmicks, no up-sales, very happy. UPDATE: Could still hear a similar noise 3 months after first repair. Dropped vehicle overnight. Quality welded the issue at no charge and I was back in business, which is why they are too! read more

The Service here is unmatched and the workmanship has a great reputation. I had Quality Muffler replace my Catalytic Converter a year ago. When I had the work done Kurt was forthright in telling me that they were unable to find a new part do to back order and needed to use a "reburbished" part. Nearly a year after being replaced the check engine light came on and the issue was traced back to the converter. Quality Muffler immediately offered to replace the catalytic converter at no charge. I went here after, I believe, my car was botched by Firestone in Natick. My muffler was rattling badly immediately after driving away from that horrible business. After reading Yelp reviews of Quality Muffler and Brake, I decided to call and make an appointment. As a person who works primarily after 11 AM, their option for a 7:30 AM appointment was awesome. I arrived at 7:30 AM, and they began work immediately. I loved how the mechanic actually brought me back and showed me everything that was wrong with my exhaust. He even told me the price right then and there, and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. Everything he pointed out was obvious, and I didn't feel like I was getting cheated at all. It took them 30 minutes...30 FREAKIN' MINUTES...to do the work. And it was done perfectly. No more rattling muffler. $85 dollars later, I am a very, very satisfied customer and will recommend this business to anyone having exhaust or brake trouble. They are simply amazing. read more

Modern cars are mysterious; "software", ECUs, electrical relays, sensors, fuses, silent components that work .. until they fail - and fail quickly - costing $$$$ to fix. But, Mufflers and Brakes - we hear the sound of failure coming.. The pinhole (tailpipe) that happened in spring or the scraping sound (brakes). .. and when we do hear it - we all wish we could just "fix what's broken". We don't want to shop around. Then there's that sinking feeling. We fear the $600 front brake job (advertised for $325) or the $1500 cat-back exhaust from the dealer ("we don't "patch"). So, we forced to spend 1/3 of what the car is worth on what should be simple repairs. Before Quality Muffler, there were few options. This busy little shop fixes what's broken - quickly and reasonably - as if your kid brother had time and resources (torch, welder, etc) and only wanted cost-of-parts and a few bucks. Quality Muffler is as close to your kid brother fixing your car as you can get. Another reviewer mentioned "best in Worcester" .. I mean I honestly can say I don't know of another shop in Massachusetts that does this kind of work with this reputation for honesty and quality work. And, much like with a good baby-sitter, it's best you not tell your friends how good Quality is, it took me a week to get an appt... LOL read more

They are honest guys and the prices are the best in this area. I have had both exhaust and brake work done here with good results. The only minor issue with these guys are they always busy and sometimes it can be hard to get a appointment. They also don't do routine maintenance like oil changes but I typically do those myself anyway. They are very good about looking over the car and calling you before any work is to be done and they don't charge for an estimate like many dealers do. They also do custom exhaust so if you want a high flow system they can design it for you. read more

I went here after I got a recommendation from another auto repair place. The first place I went to quoted me at $550 so I tried elsewhere. was at Quality Muffers on Friday Nov 2nd 2012. Reason for the visit was excellent rating from a number a sources (A guy at AUTOZONE has recommended me their name and I googled it up and looked at reviews from a number of people). I have a Chrysler Town and Country AWD and its Muffler had gone bad (RUSTED, CRACKED and broken) and CAR was making a lot of noise whenever my feet would go on the paddle -- primarily because of the fact that silencer was not good anymore. I was somewhat convinced that whether price is right or not, quality would definitely right. I had called them up a couple weeks earlier but they were busy and earliest appointment I could get was for Monday of the following week. Because I had work in NY downtown during the week and because of my commute to NY, I could not do that. In the mean time I did call up a few repair shops and checked a few places and got some range of quotes with lowest being $170 and highest being upwards of $450+ for a job of replacing the muffler (cutting the exhaust pipe and soldering the new one). I was not certain if these shops/people were reliable. So I decided to wait (as this is my forth car and rarely gets used). Today I had some time and I called them up. To my surprise guy at Quality Muffer said that if I could bring my car in next 30 minutes, he could potentially work on it today itself while I wait (else I can come on Monday). I was free and decided to go for it. I arrived. They quickly noted my contact details and asked me to wait. Within 25 minutes, I was called in by the technician. They told me that they will cut the existing muffler and replace it a NEW ONE for $110+ tax and I could be out within 30 minutes. That was a PLEASANT surprise. This was $60 lower than the lowest price I got ( and I was not thinking that they would be able to beat this price). I gave the permission and was out within 30 minutes as promised. Obviously WORK was excellent and my problem was adequately resolved. It felt great to pay them (which you generally wont feel but Quality Muffler is a different breed all together). They are HONEST, know their JOB and will not RIP YOU OFF. While I waited for 30+25 minutes, I could see 7 or 8 customers coming in and going out. All with happy faces and coming there through recommendation of near and dear ones. Also as others have pointed out, they do a lot more than MUFFLER and BRAKES. Most of the auto repairs can be done by them (except for OIL CHANGE and GLASS work which they dont do). I would highly recommended them. I wish I had known them before. I am sure I will not be going anywhere else if Quality Mufflers would be ready to do my job. Another life long customer for them. Thank you Matt. read more
