I've been to several DSW locations but this one is probably the biggest and most organzied location I've been to. There's plenty of friendly staff available should you need any assistance. The selections for everyone on the family are huge and the clearance section is pretty awesome. It's also super easy to find the size you're looking for and if what you need isn't on the sales floor, the associates are more than happy to check what they have available in the back room or they'll check to see if it's at another store. What was irritating was waiting in line today for 15 minutes to actually pay for the shoes I wanted to buy. Isn't that the basic purpose of a store? Take the customer's money in return for the product? And why does the cashier have to say "Next shoe lover in line"? This is my favorite DSW. I love it more than all the others. Even though they've changed the store layout, I still love it. But to be honest, I love DSW in general. Great shoes at a great price - this is when a cheesy store slogan is appropriate. I'm a DSW rewards member, and I buy more than a few new pairs of shoes a year, and it seems like I'm always getting coupons or a $10 rewards certificate. I also order online a lot and when something doesn't look or work like I expected, I have returned it to this store without a mishap. I was in this store last week to buy new running shoes, and I was in this store this week to return an online purchase and buy a new umbrella. (I'm starting to think I spend too much time here.) I love that this DSW has a large selection of everything - purses, socks, heels, athletic shoes, and casual shoes. If I can't find something that fits in this store, I believe it hasn't arrived yet, and I should check back next week. I have noticed that the sales people at this store are less aggressive than at the others - specifically Perimeter and Atlantic Station. The only persons who seem annoying are the managers. Located in the Buckhead Station shopping center. There is ground level and underground parking. I have only parked below once when it was absolutely crazy. In general, I do not suggest parking underground, particularly if you are a female by yourself. However, with the number of businesses in this center, things can get crazy. On the weekends, expect to wait for a spot and to have someone waiting for your spot when you leave. This DSW is well organized and well stocked. Great clearance section. I mostly shop that cause the deals are so good. Even the clearance section is well organized with great signage. Staff is constantly walking around the store cleaning up and putting things back where they belong. Besides shoes, you can also find accessories like jewelry, hats, backs, socks, wallets, etc. Cashiers are nice and never had any issues making returns. Though Atlantic Station is closer to me, this is my DSW of choice. read more

My favorite DSW. Not a fan of dealing with the parking in this lot - there's not enough between all the stores and the visitors for the condos- but it's worth it. This DSW in particular has some of the better brands - Kate Spade, Coach, and the like- at great deals. They also have a good extra-discounted section (happily, for a girl with a 9.5-10 sized foot, a good amount of options) and a nice array of purses. I've found everything from flats to workout shoes to work-shoes. Check the far right wall of the store for the fancier brands, and the middle rows for good choices of flats, sneakers and casual attire. read more

This DSW is still not my ideal discount shoe store, nor my favorite DSW ever, but I think it is the best one around Atlanta. They have a ton of shoes in current styles (I did see many shoes here which I had also just seen at Lenox Square), and a good sized clearance section. My main complaint about this store is that they don't have as many higher-end selections as I have seen at DSW stores in other cities, and they don't have as many Italian-made or Brazilian-made shoes, either. I am a bit of a shoe quality snob and I am willing to pay extra for shoes made in Italy or Brazil (also France and Spain, but those are even rarer). This is simply based on experience with shoes made in these places holding up better than others and also providing more comfort. There just isn't a lot for me to choose from here. But, I did find two pairs made in Brazil that were both on clearance on my last visit so I left satisfied. In general, not considering where the shoes are made, they do have a very wide selection of attractive and fashionable shoes. This store is also nice because they have a lot of cash registers open on busy days and you get through the line quickly. I do love the DSW rewards program, too. The worst thing about this store is the parking, and it's totally not their fault. The lot and deck here are just a little crazy because there are so many big stores with customers competing for parking spaces. I think that problem goes away, though, if you can avoid coming here on weekends. read more

As DSWs go, this is a pretty great one, I have to say. I agree that the parking lot is normally a pain in the butt, but when you want a humongous selection of shoes in every size, shape and color, plus purses, bags, scarves, toe socks and other accoutrements, this place is hard to beat. And the prices are pretty sweet too. This particular DSW (since it's in Buckhead) carries more designer brands than some other stores: Kate Spade, Coach, Michael Kors, BCBG, Guess, etc. One of my favorite parts is that I never feel harassed while I'm eagerly shoving my feet into various shoes at DSW like I do at many shoe stores where the over eager clerks hover hoping to make a sale. Don't fuss over me, just let me teeter around in hooker heels, stomp around in thigh highs and laugh at the ridiculousness of some shoe designs. The selection is quite hit or miss - sometimes you find something that's in right now and at a great discout price and other times: nada - it's all out of style or just out of your size. In general though, I like DSW and I can usually find something I should buy even if I didn't come in with a particular goal in mind. Good but ever-changing selection of shoes, purses, and accessories (including hats). If you see something you like, don't wait to purchase, as it probably won't be there when you come back! People with hard to find sizes will appreciate the brightly colored stickers they stick on the boxes for those women's shoes in sizes 11 and 12, as it let's you see at a glance if your hard to track down size is there. In these sizes, I've actually found that their selection in store is much better than what's available online, and I almost always walk out with at least one pair. For a store that's gotten so much of my shoe shopping budget lately, why only three stars? Well, because a couple of times now, I've fallen in love with a purse or pair of shoes and walked next door to either Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx and found the exact same thing for another 30-50% off. So make sure you shop around before you buy. You'll definitely want to join their free rewards program, as they frequently send out $5-$10 off coupons, with no minimum purchase. read more

I was at the Buckhead Loop location looking for some Frye boots today, and while I didn't walk out with any purchases, I did find one incredible shoe salesman. This sweet man spent at least 1/2 hour helping me look through the Clearance rack to see if there were any Frye boots left (they apparently don't sell them anymore at DSW). He even grabbed the store iPad to see if he could find anything remotely close to the Frye style I was looking for. He was polite, and really went out of his way to help me. If you want some really great personalized help finding shoes- go to this location- everyone was extremely helpful there, not just the guy who worked directly with me. It's a discount shoe place. They have about 2 acres of discounted shoes. We went because my wife needed some new boots and we didn't want to double the trade deficit. She found a great pair of boots that met her needs at a reasonable rate. I found a great pair of driving shoes but they didn't have my size. It's hit or miss, here. What they have on display is their inventory. It's a discount place, and that's part of the deal - you kind of treasure hunt for something you need and maybe you'll get lucky. This is the best DSW in Atlanta. The selection of shoes and handbags is the largest I have seen. Prices are great, as they usually are at DSW. The customer service is great. The salespeople don't nag whatsoever, but are very polite if you need help. When I needed to order some shoes in another size, they were quick about it. At some retail stores, ordering something is a frustrating process due to the incompetency of the cashiers. Not the case at this DSW store. I was also signed up for the DSW rewards program and they made that quick and painless as well. I really have no complaints about this store. The only setback is that since it's located in Buckhead Station, you can expect it to be very crowded on Saturdays! read more

I have always loved this particular DSW but had not been in a while. Some things have not changed in the last few years. It still has the biggest selection of any of the stores in Atlanta and the parking lot is still an accident waiting to happen. One thing that stood out this time was the customer service. I think this was the first time I was ever approached by anyone to ask if I needed help. And funny - I wasn't just asked once - I was asked three times. Normally this might get on my nerves but I just happened to be looking for running shoes and I needed to see specific styles that I had researched prior to going to the store. Not only did I get to see every single pair I wanted, I was even shown a pair that I had not seen before. I had never really put customer service and DSW in the same sentence before but I will from now on. Definitely recommend this DSW over all of the other ones but just be prepared for a lousy parking lot. Oh! And the clearance section still rocks. read more

It is a large store. About the same size as other DSW's (yes it is a chain). They have a large selection and constantly have people walking around the store to help you. At times it can be hard to find people to help depending on how busy they are, but it is pretty much self serve. All the shoe sizes are stacked together in groupings. My best tips for this place is to sign up for their list because they periodically send coupons in the mail plus random gift certificate like things when you spend enough and also to look on their website for additional shoes after you visit the store. Online they have a lot of offerings that they do not have in store. Shipping is reasonably fast and my orders seem to process within 24 hours. My shipments came UPS ground from Columbus, Ohio. So if you want to know a ballpark of how long it takes, you can look on UPS's website. My orders also came in a box unlike some other stores that just put the shoe boxes in a bubble mailer, so even the shoe boxes come in good condition (sometimes they get bent in bubble mailers; matters if you ever leave the shoes in the boxes and stack them in the closet). read more

I first encountered DSW in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and was a regular at DSW in Austin, Tx, before moving back to Atlanta. The DSW in Buckhead, from a guy's point of view, is very disappointing. The number of shoes other than sneakers for men is very thin, and what they do have is uninspiring. I've bought a couple of pairs there, but it is unclear to me what demographic they are serving. The service also varies, which is to be expected from a minimum-wage level business, but it has never been bad. I'll give it another try or two, but if the BBB were not adjacent to it, I'd likely not return because of the poor selection. read more

I easily get 2/3 of my shoes from here. The aisles are somewhat organized by type of shoes. So starting at the far right of the store, you have the high-end designers . . . Pucci, Stewart Weizman, etc. You know, the $600+ shoes that you can get at DSW for $200-300. Moving left, it seems to go by heel height, starting with stilettos and working their way to flats and eventually, athletic shoes. It's self-serve, which I really like. I go up and down the aisles perusing the shoes and I don't have to wait for someone to go to the back to find my size. I just look at the boxes underneath the display shoe to find my size. For me, it's a really efficient way to shop. They have huge black mesh bags you can use to cart around the shoes you like. I've found the staff to be very helpful and they seem to be constantly putting shoes away and keeping the selection organized and neat. (You know how we can be, throwing paper and plastic out of the shoe boxes and generally making a mess of things.) They recently redesigned the store. Instead of long aisles, they have semi-aisles that stop periodically with a semi-circle display. In the back, they have shoes that are even more discounted than the rest (clearance). I rarely pay more than $40 for a pair of shoes here - and these are shoes I'd easily pay $60-80 for in a mall (or more). They have a KILLER frequent shopping program (it's free). Sign up and periodically, you will receive gift certificates that vary in value from $5 on up (based on the value of the shoes you've bought). It's not uncommon for me to head to the really expensive shoes on the right side of the store, $20 coupon in hand, and score a ridiculous deal. In short, I love the selection, the prices, the layout, the frequent shopping program and cleanliness of the store. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because their selection of men's shoes is limited. It's not bad - we have found a couple of pair for my husband - but I wish they had another aisle! Parking is easy; skip the outside deck (which gets crazy) and head below to the parking garage. Plenty of spaces and you can keep your car cool or out of the rain. read more

Call me picky, but I'd rather pay full price for shoes that I *really* like than pay a discounted price for reject shoes that I sorta kinda like. They're not all necessarily reject shoes; they may just be from last season or whatever, but seriously, they have probably about 300-400 pairs of shoes in the place, and I'm rarely taken with any. Either that, or I'll like a pair and they won't have it in my bigfoot size 10. DSW is worth checking out if you really like shoes, but be prepared to be disappointed if you're anything like me. I started my day with a trip to the Big Peach running store (love them) for a new pair of running shoes. Later in the day I made my way over to DSW and spotted the exact same pair of shoes for $40 less than the ones purchased at Big Peach!! I don't usually shop here much but I will definitely be returning more frequently after that discovery. They also have cute purses and a wide variety of men's and women's shoes - although there's no grantee they'll have all the sizes. I was shocked to see they carry brands like Gucci marked at 50% off. I am giving this location four stars based on the great deals I find here for designer shoes, not for the service. I shop at this location most often because I've found really nice shoes at deep discounts. I did have one experience last summer when I was standing in line and the sales clerk took the lady behind me. The woman behind me actually had to walk around me to get in front of me. The clerk said the woman was the first one that walked to the register when she called. The manager was standing right by the door so when I left I told him what happened and I have not had a negative experience there since. I must admit though, when I first started shopping at this location in '08 customer service was much better.I recently found a pair of Stuart Weitzman flat sandals reduced from $320.00.
