Shoes are great! You've got to wear something on your feet at least part of the time, and why not choose fantastic & fun footwear at an easy on the pocket price? This being my philosophy, I suppose it is no great wonder that I adore DSW. This store is my complete favorite! Ever! It has more space than the old location (just across 183) for an even better selection of strappy sandals, peep-toe pumps, & wicked wedges. Awesome! I rarely leave empty handed. DSW has great, low prices on designer shoes (and a small selection of handbags and accessories, too). At the rear of the store, you'll find the clearance section. The prices of these shoes are super cheap, often less than twenty-five dollars, which is a steal considering the quality of some pairs. The rest of the floor space at DSW is filled with rows upon rows of beautiful shoes. I usually have an idea of what I'm shopping for & find the store very easy to navigate. The staff is generally pleasant & helpful as well. Browsing among the cute slippers, trendy workout shoes, and devastating heels could definitely put a pinch on my pocketbook. They really do have everything here. The only thing better than actually shopping at DSW is going to the day spa for a pedicure before sporting your new purchase out on the town. And P.S. --- Whether you like shoes only a teeny bit, or almost as much as the Imeldas of the world, you should totally sign up for the DSW Rewards Program. They will give you gift certificates based on a points system when you buy shoes. That means you get to buy more shoes. I'd trade frequent flyer miles for DSW points. read more

I'm a guy that enjoys shoe shopping. Alright, I don't REALLY enjoy it, but I do like the carpet bombing approach to it that DSW affords me. I can go in there and in one hour find 6 pairs of shoes covering me for work, tradeshows, weekend wear, whatever. I enjoy the thrill of the bargain-hunt in the back indoor alleyway and can't tell you how much it pleases my accountant side that the shoes are cheap. Real cheap. Don't buy a pair of shoes before checking to see if these guys have it. They usually do. read more

I've been shopping here for YEARS, maybe 15...their rewards program is great - I get coupons mailed to me all the time and not only do they have a great selection of shoes, their clearance section is great, too. Plus, I've moved from LA to Vegas to Austin and the stores are easy to find ;) read more

I was completely disgusted by my shopping experience today. First, I walked into DSW today and was immediately so cold that I could barely concentrate on what shoes I was looking for. I really needed to find some new shoes for school though, so I kept going. I was so deeply disappointed by the horrible selection of Nike shoes. I searched the entire store and still couldn't find more than about five pairs of Nike's. Then I went to go look for some new Keds, and much to surprise, I couldn't find a single pair! By now I was absolutely freezing and still didn't have any shoes. My last hope was to find a pair of cute Converse. But, of course, there were none! I was so upset and cold that I immediately left the store in a huff and I will never ever be going back again!! read more

DSW has a ton of selections for any style/type of shoe you could be looking for. They don't always have a ton of sizes in a certain style, particularly more popular sizes (like size 7), or a variety of color options for one style, but surely you could find something you like here. The store is relatively clean for how large it is. The location up north is not as nicely finished as the South Austin location, so it definitely feels a bit more like a typical big box store. Prices are very reasonable and usually a bit cheaper than if you buy the shoe at other stores. The rewards program is free and has good coupons/deals. Nobody bothers you while you are shopping and trying on shoes, which is nice. They also sell purses and other small accessories. read more

I found the cutest pair of sneakers at DSW last week. They were exactly what I was looking for... trendy, comfortable, statement shoes that I could wear in Europe for 6 weeks. They were reasonably priced for what they are, so no complaints! I will be coming back next time I need a new pair of shoes for sure. read more

I normally shop the DSW in Dallas, but I was in Austin for a trip and needed a different pair of shoes that I brought. This store was super easy to get to and had the same great choices I was used to. If you've never been to a DSW you must check it out. They have the shoes arranged by style and heel height, from tennis shoes to flip flops and boots to platforms and high-end designers......you can see where "your" section is without having to search all over the huge store. read more

I'm having a difficult time getting the shoes I paid for that were supposed to be delivered by 10/26. They have my correct address yet FedEx returned to sender stating they couldn't find me. I get other ord er s from other entities with no trouble. I've been here for 3 years. When I contacted DSW customer service to have someone look I to I was told they couldn't do anything until I go to my local post office and ask why it didn't get delivered. DSW shipped it by FedEx Si now its a post office issue??I then asked for a manager and was put on hold for so long I finally gave up. I cannot believe I cannot just get the shoes I paid for. I buy a lot of shoes but it doesn't look like DSW is the place to spend my money. Such a shame. read more

This is the 2nd time ive bought shoes from the DSW at this location. In both instances, the location was out of my size so I paid for them in store that day and tried to have my size delivered to my residence. In both instances, the shoes were never delivered. The 1st time, I was able to get another pair sent - they were actually delivered that time - but i had to pay for the shoe again before i was refunded for the same shoe i never received the first time around. About 2 months later, I went to the same location to pick up a pair of booties on my lunch break. Again, my size was not in stock. I wear a size 7 or 7.5, so pretty common, and a pretty common size that should be in stock the majority of the time. So again, I paid in store that day for the booties and they were supposed to be delivered to my residence 3-5 business days later....Again, they never arrived. After going through extensive customer service reps, this time I was told I could not be refunded for the booties which I ordered and paid for in store but were never delivered..I was told that i would have to dispute the funds with my bank. At the point, I had to call my bank..call and talk about to multiple agents about my situation..verify name, s.s number, dob, etc. .. and wait a period of time before i was credited the amount by my bank. The situation is extremely unfortunate as i did really appreciate DSW at one point, but after multiple bad customer service experiences, I will certainly never buy from DSW again. read more

"no shoes, no service" this is my first "yelp," but not my dog's. he's "yelping" at me right now and doin' a pretty doggone good job of it. hopefully, i can do at least as good. i keep things simple. casual wear, including my shoes, nearly all the time. unfortunately, i haven't found a good pair of sandles since my birk's died several years back. i was in a pinch about three months back when i found a very affordable model at dsw that lasted all summer without the normal side effects of gettin' stinky and making my heels crack. this past weekend, while treking in vegas, my left sandle broke. i ran back to dsw, with a good limp of course cuz my sandle was busted, to get another pair. but no, no sandles at all except some crappy ones in back that didn't fit or cost like $60. when did austin "move" so far north that you can't even find a pair of sandles during the fall months. it felt like i was shopping for shoes in buffalo in january. boo dsw. boo, boo, boo, boo. read more

I just lost myself for an hour in a haze of shopping happiness - this DSW is huge, clean and neat, and has a wide variety of shoes and purses. The staff are very helpful and courteous. I was very happy to walk in with some specific needs, be able to find several options of each, and walk out with four items for $113. read more
