Wish I could give this place 0 stars. There is no customer service at all. I am already uncomfortable taking my toddlers to ANY store to shop and the employee made me feel worse by making an assumption I am switching shoe boxes or taking shoes when I am going to purchase the shoes that my toddlers are REFUSING to take off (I was actively holding the correct boxes for purchase and clearly told the employee that as well when she approached me). Customer service is supposed to have a little bit of empathy to a certain extent depending on the situation. Just because my toddlers are loud and running around does not give a worker the right to have a negative judgement on what kind of shopper I am. I've been in retail for 7 years and on going, I would never make a PARENT or anyone who is obviously having a difficult time feel the way I did throughout this experience. I understand each shoe has to be checked when purchased but there is a much nicer way to ask instead of asking in a forceful manner with sarcasm/attitude especially during the situation I was having. read more

Seemed like a smaller DSW store, was clean and well-stocked. Not much in the clearance aisle (darn haha). Not much for runners (I recommend Dicks Sporting Goods or an actual running store). I do like their dressier shoes both for work and shoes for a night out. My girlfriend found a nice pair of Merrells for under $30. Definitely a good deal. Cashiers and employees on the floor were friendly. read more

I came in to search for one pair of low heel Mary Janes. They had a buy one get one 50%off deal on all shoes including clearance! I walked out with a pair of Mary Janes, slip on Sketchers sneakers, and 2 pair of black boots! They really had a GREAT selection of shoes on clearance... Lots of racks. Service was awesome. Shoes, shoes, shoes! If you're a shoe lover like myself, you probably like this chain. They always offer up aisle after aisle of options, most of which are easily recognizable brand names. Pricing is usually pretty decent, too! This location had a similar set up and feel as its sister stores. The front had bags, accessories, sunglasses, socks and the like. Just beyond that started the shoe aisles. Behind the regular priced shoes and at the back of the store are the clearance shoes and bathroom. We saw a few staff members on the sales floor but most were cleaning and restocking. We talked to one about seeing if there were additional sizes elsewhere but she said there weren't and then just walked away. Hubs tried on a few pairs of shoes for work but none were quite the right thing. Overall: B Clean easy to shop store with an a ok experience. read more

This DSW is less than half the size of your average DSW and they've got the worst, most useless clearance section ever. I swear, the other DSWs must send their lingering clearance crap here to live on forever. There's absolutely nothing good dwelling in that back room, trust me. On the other hand, you don't have to walk as much here because there aren't as many aisles and the selection is paired down nicely and well organized, as well as their staff who are always helpful and know a thing or too about shoes. read more

I bought a pair of espadrille type shoes in their clearance room and thought they'd stretch a bit because I really needed a 8.5, not a 8- but there was no way! Horrible experience... I walk in here.... There's this lady, maybe in her 50' black short hair, she is supposed to greet customers walking in the store right? Well, she greeted the Caucasian older couple that walked in.... But didn't greet me... Store was not busy, this was last weekend.... The couple and myself were the only ones who walked in the store. I was dolled up.. Wearing Burberry coat, Burberry scarf, Louis Vuitton bag .... You get the picture right? But since I'm Asian.... This lady didn't bother with me... I'm sure she doesn't know how much I make and how most probably those older couple, depends on social security. I'm sorry, I'm just aggitated on how some people treat Asians. Don't ever buy shoes from here unless you're absolutely sure they fit. I walked around in the shoes I bought for about 10 whole minutes and found them to be far too small. Upon trying to return them I was told that, since theyd been worn, they were unable to return them. Never mind the fact that I've returned shoes beforehand to other stores, and these were clean. They look for any sort of reason to not allow a return. Outside of returns, their customer service is terrible. Nothing beats waiting in line for 10 minutes while there's one open person behind the counter typing away on the computer with no explanation as to why. Their selection is strangely limited as well, given their status as a shoe store. With as many different shoe stores the Promenade has to offer, their lack of customer service and sub par selection will eventually lead to their downfall, and to that I say good riddance. read more

"Hello lover." Words spoken by Carrie Bradshaw to a pair of Manolos. In my case, it was a pair of Chinese Laundry flats. The difference? A few hundred bucks! This store is a little bit smaller than the Naperville store, but I still walked out with a pair of loafers that I've been lusting after for my fall wardrobe. The Chinese Laundry flats I mentioned were out of stock in my size. I didn't have problems finding anything else in my size, so I have no complaints about the inventory. I've had good luck in their clearance section as well. I picked up a yellow, point toe Chinese Laundry flats at this store a few seasons ago and still get compliments on them. My second clearance bargain was a pair of black platform BCBG heels. The cashier who helped me was very nice and patient - and more than willing to call another store to see if they had my size. I've worked in retail in the past, and being asked to call another store brought on either a feeling of dread or happiness. It was dreadful if you were in the middle of helping someone else, but it was blissful because it sucked up some time during your shift. I think she was content with the timesuck. She found the shoes in Naperville for me, so I'm very grateful for her help. And now, I'm gonna call you out on your nonsense, DSW: The employees working in the aisles were useless! They completely ignored me. I counted: Dude 1 walked past me FOUR times. Chicks 1 and 2 walked past me THREE times. The three of them looked like they were assigned to a project that involved taking apart a display and making room. The dude was just grumbling that they had no room, and the two chicks just looked miserable and lost. While I SHOULD have asked one of them to call another store for me (because I knew it would slow down the line to ask the cashier), I decided not to, since NONE of them even muttered a "Hello" to me. I LIKE being ignored in stores, I really do, I'm a self-sufficient shopper. You can say "hello" without following up with "can I help you?" The worst part is that I suspected Dude 1, and possibly the 2 girls, were of some kind of manager status. read more

I almost don't even want to write this review. I kinda want to keep this my little secret. But secrets don't keep friends, so you can thank me later fellow shoe enthusiast. First of all, I didn't even know this DSW was here. There's a tiny little sign that points you down an alley near Charlotte Russe, and then you turn left and there it is, across from Bass Pro Shop. If you've ever been to Canal Steet in NYC, you know that walking down alleys leads to untold bargains. Upon entering this location, it seems a lot smaller than the Naperville and Schaumburg DSW's. I browsed a bit in the rows of regular price offerings, nothing OMG worthy. But, oh the clearance section was a saucy minx today. I ended up with these gorgeous supple tan leather stack heeled gladiator sandals by Aldo. Originally $100, for $20. I know, I can hardly believe it myself. Also a stunning pair of leather tan and rose gold ankle wrap flats by Royal for $15! Both pairs were 70% off. Plus I'm a size 8. Since that's the most common size it's usually super picked thru. I will say that u usually don't have much luck at DSW, but I will be stopping here again. read more

Best place to find shoes... I ALWAYS start out in the clearance section. Rarely do I not find something I'll want to take home. The best part - they are always more than 30% off! I can only attest to the fact that they carry many cute shoes in size 6.5, because that is what I wear. I recommend checking it out yourself to see if they have a great variety in your size! I do, however, tend to do most of my shopping online. But don't worry, you can always return or exchange in store! read more

I could of not been treated better! The store had two employees working and I came in with my daughter 15 minutes before closing. The young gal said oh don't rush I'll help you. The other gal was offering her opinion and getting sizes. I never write reviews but to stay late on Saint Patrick day and be so kind. I live in the city and has never had a positive experience at DSW. The bowlingbrook store employees were exceptional people. I was purchasing my daughters graduation shoes and I will always remember their professionalism and dedication to making shopping a memorable experience again. I have not had such great service anywhere in the past 10 years. Thank you for caring. We left the store 30 minutes after closing with two pairs of shoes. We will definitely be back! read more

I LOVE this store. I just purchased a dress that I was having a hard time finding shoes for. When I walked into the store I was surprised by the wide array of selection that the store had. I will admit that I was a bit overwhelmed. There was a tall, Hispanic gentleman that sensed my plight. He asked me if I needed help, and I explained the situation. I had even brought the dress with me. I showed it to him, and he was able to pick out the exact shoes that would work! He even had me model them, and complimented me on how well they looked. I had a coupon card for $10 off if I spent 49 dollars and $20 off if I spent $99. I was going to buy a second pair of shoes. My total would have been around $150 for both pairs. I asked Gigi behind the counter if she could make a deal and she was unwilling. I asked her if a manager could maybe make a deal and she said no. Came here on the hunt for Sorel's. I guess none were sent to this store at all this year. The layout was weird with big pillars at the end of a few isles blocking you. So you walk down an isle then have to turn around and go back. It was awkward. The selection was just, meh. Nothing going on in clearance, at all. I walked out with zero pairs of shoes. That's how bad it is. The staff was kind of friendly, and I think they tried to be helpful. They sort of acted like I've lost my mind because I couldn't remember the name of the town for the last DSW I was in. I will never be back to this store. I have never owned a pair of brand name shoes up until now. Most of my shoes come from Payless, but after discovering the joy of shoe shopping at this DSW, my mind has been changed forever. This is a brand new location, and it shows. Everything was arranged neatly by shoe type, all the prices and brands were clearly marked, and everywhere you went there were members of the sales staff there to help you out if you needed. I was there shopping for a pair of heels to go with my wedding dress, and I was caught off guard by the selection they had in my size. I walked out of the store with the cutest, most perfect pair of sparkly, strappy, open toed heels you could imagine. I also was able to sign up for their discount card, which entitles me to a half off discount after buying ten pairs of shoes and as well as special promotions.
