If you need cheap shoes and you don't care if you can get an entire season's wear out of them, this is your place. When I purchased a dress, pale pick shoes, to pick up on the color in the dress, were recommended. So I asked, where can I find pink shoes? Everywhere, I was told. I'm here to tell you, not true. I was greeted by a very friendly salesperson, I think, who took me to the section of the type of shoe I was looking for and she explained that most manufacturers have cut back on styles in colors. I liked that they had a shoe on display right on the boxes where you would find the available sizes. They do have a nice variety. Prices are VERY reasonable, quality is average. I didn't find what I was looking for but I did find another pair. Check out is S-L-O-W and some people didn't get the check-out line process. I can't fault the store for that but really, one of the 3 people in the group was still shopping when it was their turn and they were still with the only other cashier as I left. read more

Great shoe selection. Bought a few bikes from here at a great price!! Staff was a little young and dismissive... I walked in and there was a group of staff huddling at the door talking and just starred at me as I walked in as if we were in high school and I was wedding about of date hideous outfit...( which I wasn't haha)! Young girl at cash out didn't look at me once while doing the transaction and just threw my boxes around mumbling off the return guidelines. Like I said.... I've been drooling over the selection of pumps and boots displayed in the windows and finally made it in. A number of nice pumps and boots, $25-$30. Boots are mostly all-synthetic made in China, which is good if you don't wear leather (I don't) but I'm not sure the quality is there. Sadly most of the good stuff is what you see in the window; there's a little more but not much (it's a very nice, large window). Didn't look at the athletic shoes or socks. A couple of sale tables; clearance section in the back is all thrown together instead of sorted by size, and not displayed - mostly just boxes on shelves. Hard to cruise so I didn't. More impressive than the Shoe Carnival I visited in Indiana; I'll stop by periodically when the window looks interesting. . read more

Ugh!!! I am just so pissed!!! I tried returning 2 pairs of shoes that I purchased September 12th... The manager told me that I will not get a refund but I can exchange. I'm like... I want my refund. Danielle the manager, said the black boots were used and the brown boots are not. I'm like... Of course I had to try it at home and walk a few steps to figure out if it feels good. Both didn't. Danielle said... Welp we will give you a refund for the $20 brown boots but not the $59 black boots... Go figure!!!!! So as much as I want to just scream at this annoying manager... I looked around for a replacement. All of their clearance items are all used... Like the sole are dirty and really worn and has marks all over. I wanted to go back to Danielle and say... Look at the black boots I'm returning and look at these gross clearance items??!?!?! Nothing in comparison .... Clearly they sell REALLY used shoes.... Their new boots are $80-$120!!! Really? No known brands.... Really? I got another pair of boots and did the exchange quickly and left... Never again!!!! They should replace the manager... Danielle doesn't act like a manager at all. Raising her voice at me? WTF I go to DSW in Oakbrook all the time... They definitely have nicer shoes anyways... Plus returns are a breeze... No questions and very pleasant to deal with. An exceptional deal here is when they have their buy 1, get 1 50% off sale...I don't think I've ever walked out of this place without buying a second pair. For example...this past week I finally earned my $10 coupon with their rewards card program and I got a pair of asics and a pair of work shoes for $70 total....not bad. The work shoes were on sale for $20, so half off = $10. One problem I do have here often is finding my size which is 9 1/2. I always seem to find alternatives though when it comes to athletic shoes. I also compare their selection to kohl's ...they may not have the best and newest of shoes that just come out, they seem to be a season behind or something. In fact, I'm pretty sure I did not find athletic shoes that I liked and opted for Kohls or Famous Footwear. But, of all my visits here the staff are friendly, don't bother you like they're trying to sell you shoes or anything like that. I will continue to come here though as an option for shoes, especially when they're having a sale! read more

My feet are all messed up - extremely wide, very flat, I've had two ankle surgeries, and I have plantar fasciitis and a heel spur. So I was in desperate need of some good shoes, and came here. The girl that helped us was super helpful. I told her all of my foot woes, she measured them, and came back with numerous shoes for me to try. We narrowed it down to two pairs, and she helped me make the final decision and I have been very happy with them. Without her help, I wouldn't have really known what to look for. I really appreciate they have such knowledgeable staff working there. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing good shoes. They even had enough in the store to keep my 2 year old entertained while I tried on shoes. I am not giving 5 stars though, because their selection of wide shoes was pretty small. They'd definitely get a 5 if they stocked more wides. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOE STORE TO ANYONE. This was by far the worst customer service I have experienced in years, and it was from a number of employees. Each interaction served as a demeaning experience that was both rude and unhelpful. I wanted to talk to them about their behavior, but I knew they would be defensive and not want to listen to this customers' feedback, and most likely wouldn't change anything about their habits as shoe sales people, but maybe this honest review tarnishing their reputation (even if only in the slightest), will have them think a little harder about the effort they put out there to make their customers feel 1.) Respected, 2.) Supported and 3.) Genuinely cared for (you know, not the rude, habitual protocol of communication they are expected and trained to practice)- HINT LADIES: It's called being authentic, you should try it. 1st Incident: I walk into this store for the first time in years, and I notice a discount wheel near the register that a kid is playing with. I see an employee and ask her, "Hi, I've never been here before. I was curious what you guys do with the wheel?" As we talk about the wheel, she makes a statement, "we are the ONLY retail store that offers in store/immediate discounts". I start telling her, "That's really cool. I was wondering as I'm a business psychologist and I'm interested in learning about what companies do. You know Aldo actually does that too. They have a discount wheel that every customer gets to spin when they are in the store, and get anywhere from 15%-40% off their purchase, but I believe its only a holiday promotional." She looks at me and nods her head but with a look of confusion. "I just mentioned it because you said you guys were the only retail store that offered it, and I had this experience at Aldo last season that was pretty similar." With a snarky look and distasteful eyes, she says, " MY company has been around since 1979 and we were the first to ever do it!" "Whooooooaaaaaa, hold on there Lady, its really not that serious. I was just sharing an experience that related to what we were talking about." This woman couldn't be more fake or ingenuine. At least that's what she portrayed to this customer. Maybe she should ask herself if that's how she wants customers and/or strangers to perceive her. Or maybe her boss should question his decision of having her manage the store? Yes, that's right. She's a manager. Ouch! 2nd Incident: I walked up to a male and female coworker speaking to one another. I asked them if they had a tape measurer I could use. The woman asked where I was, to which I pointed out in the back by the kids' shoes. She said she would get it and bring it to me. To which she turned back to her coworker and kept talking. Aren't customers supposed to be a priority? Or at least aren't you supposed to make me think that customers are a priority? No, she didn't do what she said. She forgot and moved on to lining up shoe boxes. This is where I'm attempting to buy my just-started-walking-baby a pair of shoes without him being there, a task that is probably just a waste of time, but I wanted to try and get a pair that I thought "might" fit him, as to avoid having to come back to the store another day. I had his actual foot measurement and was going to try my best to figure out the size most likely to be his. The girl that had initially "not helped me" along with the lady/manager from my first unpleasant experience are just rolling their eyes at eachother and looking at me like I have three heads. Thanks ladies. I already knew it was a bad idea. I'm simply asking for assistance in guessing what shoe size "might" fit my son's foot. I finally here the one girl say that shoes are typically 1-1/2 inches longer than the foot inside. THANK YOU! That was actually helpful information! There was more absurd communication coming from the manager, but the last part I'd like to share is her judgment against me for not knowing what "Espirit" shoes were, which are apparently really popular boat shoes. Excuse me, miss, yes you the one who has been working with shoes and in customer service for 10 years, is it really that shocking to meet a customer that doesn't know something you know about shoes- even something that is known and popular to a lot of other people? And if it is, maybe you should keep that outward thought processing away from your interaction with customers. You repeatedly were saying statements that were making me seem foolish, and it was intentional. Worse, it felt like it was something you had been doing for a long time. Your social intelligence is very low. And no, its not just me, I heard her talking in a demeaning way to another customer who wasn't grasping the concept of $10 off when she's buys two pairs and returns one of them. Your job is to help people, not bash their intelligence.You just look stupid. YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY SHOULD BE SPENT IN BETTER HANDS THAN THIS PLACE. read more
