The sales associate was so nice and even though the likelihood that the size he needed would be available was slim, the associate went and checked in the warehouse for us. And they had it! He was patient and friendly and I appreciated him. Unfortunately the heel was slightly wide so we didn't end up purchasing them but for the amazing service I'm giving them give stars. I have always loved DSW. Easy place to shop with wide variety. But, recently, because of their online return policy, I will no longer be shopping there. I've been looking for a dark navy heel to match a dress. I've had to order a variety of shoes online from many different stores as they are not in stock at the stores. This last month, I returned 6 pairs of shoes to DSW. The clerk told me that I was returning to many pairs of shoes and it is possible that the store might refuse to accept future returns. This is disappointing to say the least. I can not find what I'm looking for in their store. To limit how many shoes I can order online, limits my ability to find what I need. The cashier said many online stores are doing this but I've also ordered from 5 other retailers and not one of the retailers has this policy. I love DSW but they have to change this policy. Online shopping is too popular to limit how many orders can be returned. read more

DSW at Park Meadows in Lonetree, Colorado 1/4/2026. I returned a pair of Sketchers I bought on 1/2/26 because the right shoe fit very loose compared to the left. Also the instep on the shoe did not cover the booties I wear with sports shoes. I have never had a problem with one shoe being that loose. I found another pair I wanted to purchase. They were $85.00 and more than the discounted shoes I was returning. I noticed the soles on the new shoes were very dirty and the front top part dirty too. Even though they did not look new, i was willing to buy them. I asked for a little discount since it looked they were used and returned. The cashier asked Jasmine, (assistant mgr?) who said no, that the store floors were very dirty and folks try on shoes on and walk around the store and get the shoes dirty. She could not see anything that would warrant a discount. She also said something like 'they get upset if we discount'. I asked who is "they"? She said Corporate '. I asked for her Mgr and she said she was not in nor could she give me her schedule as to when she would be in. She said I would be receiving a survey and I could reply there about my store experience. Jasmine offered to order a brand new pair and issue me a store credit. I declined and asked for the refund on my personal card that I originally paid for the shoes I returned. She complied. I don't think a little 5-10% discount on a pair of $85.00 shoes would break the bank for DSW. In my opinion, DSW and Jasmine feels a pidly few dollars are more important to DSW than keeping a customer happy and loyal. There are so many other stores to purchase shoes from that will be getting my business. Thank goodness DSW isn't the only 'show in town'! Also coordinate your website hours for the Lonetree store with the tacky, unprofessional sheet secured on the entrance door with scotch tape! I have a lot of shoes. Many, many shoes. I LOVE shoes. And boots. But I'm very picky. I don't wear manmade shoes. I avoid certain brands for various reasons. I sometimes wear a difficult size--10.5--which only a few companies make. DSW is WONDERFUL for shoe and boot fiends. While only the Mexico Ave location carries designer shoes AFAIK (I bought a cherished pair of navy patent Gucci pumps there years ago), there are occasional real finds at this location. Expensive shoes are my weakness, but I don't want to pay retail. DSW has a lot of mainstream brands and manmade shoes, but if you're willing to hunt a bit, you can find Sergio Ricci, Cole Haan, and several European all-leather brands. I always go straight to the Clearance rack first. Yellow stickers used to be 80% off, then 70%, and now they're 60% off. Oh well. I once got a pair of $400 boots for $80. And that was the DSW price. They retailed for $650 or higher. So those days are gone, and those boots would now cost $160. Still better than $650! The associates are always nice and very helpful. I have been shopping at this store for YEARS. At one point, I was at their top tier of VIP, which had quite a few perks. But you have to spend $1000 or so a year (I forget) and I don't do that anymore. I went there today to find a pair of slip-ons. Didn't find exactly what I wanted, because the 10s were a little too small and the 11s a little too big, but I did find Cole Haan Zerogrande laced sneakers for 60% off. Jeremiah was extremely helpful in finding the price, since the box and shoes both lacked price stickers. Now I HAVE to go to the gym, since I have these splendid new cushiony sneakers! read more

We arrived when the store opened, we were the second customers to walk in on a Saturday morning. There was little pieces of paper, all over the floors, the bathrooms (both men and women's) were filthy, toilet paper on the floors and un-flushed toilets. Whole back area smelled like urine. I have a confession: I hate shoes. If possible I would live in a world where I could flips 24/7 but that's really not feasible. So when I do have to buy shoes, it's usually a painful process that I hope goes by quickly. Enter in DSW. I've never been to a DSW before but after stopping by a few places I thought I would check it out and holy crap, I can see why people love this place. Rows and rows of shoes that made me want to say "OMG. Shoes" They have reasonably priced shoes ranging from boots to sneakers plus they have tons of clearance options. Being the frugal girl I am, the first thing I did was head to the back of the store. Hello clearance shoes, you are so beautiful to me! I found three pairs which is usually unheard of and after much debate finally went with one pair which was 50% much to the delight of my wallet. When I told the cashier that it was my first time there she hooked me up with a $5 off coupon for it being my first visit so a pair of shoes originally $40 just for $16? I am actually kind of surprised DSW doesn't have a higher star rating, but after reading the reviews I suppose I get it on some level. DSW stands for Designer Shoe Warehouse. It is not a fancy schmancy shoe store known for service or hand holding. It is a big ass store with tons of selection - rows and rows and rows of it. It is overwhelming at times! There is so much there. Still that is what I love, I can get a running shoe, a sexy pump and discounted designer bag all in one store. It ain't pretty - by any means and yes you might have to track someone down if you have a question, but it is awesome for what it is! I love their rewards program - earn points for free gift certificates and other perks throughout the year. Awesome!!! I had a return from an online purchase; the only confusing part for the sales associate was that I paid in 2 different forms; a gift card and my debit card. When I wanted to purchase a purse that was secured and needed to be unlocked, I asked an associate with an apron (Smitty) who ignored me. When I asked again, she walked away. So I stood in the front of the store and asked loudly for help and no one came to help. No one. So I stood in the checkout line hoping I could get help from them then Smitty approached me and said I heard you need help. She said only managersp can unlock it. That's not a reason to ignore me. DSW is always hit or miss. Sometimes I find great things; many times I find nothing. This location is most convenient for me, but there are other DSW locations that are nicer. Even so I USED to come fairly regularly to browse. And, I'm part of their reward program. I had $20 in reward certificates and a $5 birthday coupon, so went in a few days ago and thought I found some fab kitten heels. Got them home, walked around my living room, and discovered that they made weird noises with each step. Went back today and tried to find something else for an exchange, but came up empty so decided to return. Here is where the story gets bad. I was given 3 options: find an exchange TODAY (well that was already unsuccessful), hold on to the shoes and exchange later (why do I want shoes taking up space if I won't wear them? More likely I'll forget all about them), OR get a refund and FORFEIT my certificates. I asked about getting a gift card, even with an expiration date, for the certificate value. NO! The cashier was nice and asked her manager, who then also got some other manager, but the answer was the same. Really, three people giving me the same answer was unnecessary. I returned the shoes and lost my $20-$25 towards a future purchase. With so many places to buy shoes it will be a LONG time before I return to DSW, if ever. I told both managers such and they really didn't seem to care. Now I know it's the corporate policy that's flawed, but the customer service wasn't good either. For the longest time I boycotted this place on principal that their commercials were stupid; women raving about shoes. I guess if you care about brand names immensely you will probably be happy or find what you are looking for here. When I went in I was looking for shoes to wear with my wedding dress, of course, everything I tried on was incredibly uncomfortable. I enjoy the fact that this store has rows of clearance shoes, even in my size, which is on the longer end. The clearance prices are still not so 'clearance' to me but at least I have a broader selection. What I do not enjoy about this location is the parking lot which is always packed. I usually end up making a parking spot along the left side of the building and praying I don't get towed or blocked in. The staff isn't very attentive or welcoming in my experience, though, they haven't done anything to really come off as rude either. I went in today to pick up my online order, I stood in the separate line to do so...did customer service just go out the window? There are 4 employees behind the registers, I did not even receive a "we will be with you in a moment" or a "hi, welcome in." I worked retail in my college days and that was like the number one rule. The manager came out of her office, shoulder length maroon hair, and said "have you been helped?" I said no and she got my order for me. I informed her of the lack of customer service and she was obviously irritated I was complaining, "well we are really busy." Ok? And? I found the perfect Cole Haan purse at the cherry creek location however someone else purchased it before I could. I called the customer service number and spoke to Rebecca she was unable to do a product search in the other stores because it wasn't for a special occasion. I was so frustrated. I called around to many of their stores and not one store had it or was able to help me find it. I finally called the Colorado Springs store and one of their lovely employees did a search and found it at the Park Meadows location. Made a call to Michelle at Park Meadows and she had it. She also worked with her manager to make an exception to ship it to me in Breckenridge. I really appreciate them going out of their way to do that. It made me feel like all the money I have spent with DSW over the years was worth every penny. Great customer service, I'll continue being a loyal customer to DSW! read more

I've bought several pairs of shoes from DSW stores, and thought they were great - gazillions of shoes to choose from, and the staff are super nice. Their customer reward program is good too (it's my birthday shortly, and they sent me a $15 off coupon). Their online ordering and customer service, however, sucks ass ROYALLY. The last time I ordered shoes from them online - shoes which, according to their website, were in stock - it took a full 12 days for them to be delivered. They never answered my emails querying the order status, and their telephone reps couldn't give me any information either. I should have learned my lesson... It's now been four days since I placed an order for sneakers which again, according to their website, are in stock, yet they haven't been shipped. Utter rubbish. In the future, I'll stick to zappo.com. Their prices are higher but you can receive your order the next day. read more

I bought a pair of men's casual shoes 9 weeks ago and worn them about 15 times during that time. Two weeks ago I noticed my right heel was slipping down further than my left and the shoe was squeeking with every step. Maybe I've been lucky because I never had this happen to me before. Anyway, I took them back to DSW with my receipt to see what they would do. To me it was an obvious manufacturer defect but they didn't see it that way. They needed to see a visible tear to be considered a defect. So now I spent $50 on a pair of shoes that I don't want to wear and the store refuses to stand behind the product they sell.
