My experience here definitely reached my standards! I love how they are open somewhat late compared to other hair salons. I was able to walk in after I got off work and I just requested a regular haircut. Their hair cut included shampooing, cut, and blow dry. I showed the lady who cut my hair (Tracy) and she did exactly what I asked for! My hair has never looked and felt better. The interior is nice & bright as well plus the seats are pretty comfy. The sink they use to wash your hair is also super nice too and doesn't hurt your neck. They are mainly mandarin speakers but their english is pretty good. I had a terrible first experience at this salon. Since I was a walk-in, I was paired with a stylist (Jackson refused to give me his name) who spoke limited English. When I politely asked for a simple adjustment--shortening the back and thinning one side to make it even--the stylist became visibly irritated and hostile. The situation escalated when he stayed angry even after Jackson translated for him. Despite his rudeness, I still tipped $10 and tried to say goodbye, but he completely ignored me. When I asked another employee why he was acting this way, she told me to stop talking because they "didn't want to upset him more." It is shocking that this business prioritizes a stylist's bad mood over a customer's feelings. I received zero apologies for this unprofessional behavior. When I arrived, I walked up to the stand to check in. A gentleman with blonde hair greeted me and told me to sit in a chair. We talked about how much I wanted to cut, and he took me to shampoo my hair. The shampoo was nice and relaxing. After he shampooed my hair, he began to cut it in small sections. After he cut it, he began to style it while blow drying it. Since I was offered a free treatment via Yelp, I asked about it, and he said that they were out of it for now. I figured I would just ignore it and asked to come back for my hair treatment another time. However, after he finished styling my hair, he offered the hair treatment if I had time. I said I had time so he took me to rinse out my hair. He put product in my hair and left the hair treatment for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, he rinsed out my hair and sent me back to the chair. He styled it and we were done. The haircut and hair treatment cost $65 and took 1.5 hours. I'd probably return since this place isn't too far from home. My only gripe is that during the hair treatment, people were outside smoking and they left the back door open. This forced me to breathe in the cigarette smoke for 15 minutes which made me pretty uncomfortable. read more

It felt like they really try to understand your vision and even recommend what they think would look good. The first time I had my hair done here, I had Jackson doing my hair. I wanted a specific red color, and he recommended a dark pink shade that would look good on top of my black hair. I was skeptical at first, but it turned out exactly the shade of red that I was looking for. When I went back for a recoloring with Tracy months later, the color came out just as good, if not better. As someone who's really particular about where and who I get my services from, I cannot recommend DT Hair enough for their hair cut, styling, and treatments. Previously I've bleached my hair twice a couple years ago, leaving me with lots of split-ends and extremely dry ends :( I booked a chemical treatment appointment half a week in advance because I wanted to restore my hair's health. DT hair was very responsive, it was very easy to communicate on Yelp to book my appointment here. We specifically requested for Tracy because she had done such an amazing job for my boyfriend the week prior. Tracy went above and beyond, exceeding all my expectations for this chemical treatment. She was super thorough with every single step. She washed my hair twice to begin with and was gentle, the entire process felt like a relaxing massage. When we did the treatment, she was also very careful to not get any chemicals on my face or neck, and we steamed my hair for 30minutes. After we washed off all the chemical, she ran her hands through my hair so many times to get rid of all my tangly hair. I came out of DT Hair with the smoothest, best smelling hair I've had in years. This place is so good that I almost want to gatekeep but they deserve recognition for all their amazing and hard work. read more
