I don't like to leave bad reviews but I feel that this is definitely valid. I came in last week to get my hair done for the first time. It's been over 5 years since I had my hair cut or dyed. I made sure I did my research through Instagram & previous yelp ratings. Although I had several options & received numerous replies from other local salons, I thought I had made a good choice. But a week later & I'm hating my hair & regretting my decision to come here. I asked for ash blonde balayage & spent $450 + tip + $30 on purple shampoo that was recommended. Now my hair looks horrible & I don't want to spend anymore money to fix it. I probably would've done a better job with a box dye kit. read more

Didn't get my hair colored right then had to do corrections but still overcharging me. It's super disrespectful and disappointing to pay the price $630 for the work that required me to go back again , they said it was cheaper than my quote then it became almost double price . Are you rubbing me for a hair session ? Seriously ?! They said it would be free correction next time but it's just ridiculous that I had to go through this. Totally unhappy experience and I won't go get my hair done here again. It's just a nightmare to pay a lot for a bad treatment. The lady charged me with that amount I just want to tell you , I may not argue with you but the way you treat customer and how you operate the business, I wish you good luck to see how many return customers you would have . Made an appointment the day before for a dry hair styling for a wedding the next day that was 10 minutes away at Pacific Palms. Driving straight there from out of town, I arrived 15 min late and called an hour before to let them know. Very understanding. There are three shopping centers right next to each other not connected and I didn't notice any signs outside but I found it with the Yelp address. There was some confusion as they thought I had booked a wash and dry but we cleared that up and went with the special occasion hair price $90. She quickly curled my hair in under an hour and pinned it up for me as I had a two day wedding to attend. I got so many compliments with it up that night. Curls lasted well the next day when I let it down. Thanks again for making my wedding guest experience complete! read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience at this salon. I came in with clear reference photos and explained exactly how I wanted my haircut, including the length and overall shape. Unfortunately, the final result looked very different from what we discussed. The cut was much shorter than I asked for, and the style didn't resemble the reference. It's also been difficult to manage and style on my own since the appointment. I reached out afterward to express my concerns and see if anything could be done to fix the situation, but I didn't feel like my concerns were taken seriously. I understand that not every haircut turns out perfectly, but I do expect some level of customer care when a client leaves unhappy. What made this experience even more frustrating was the billing dispute. After being unable to resolve the issue directly, I disputed the charge with my bank. Months later, the charge was reversed back to me after the business responded, so I ultimately ended up paying in full for a service I was unhappy with. read more

Jeanne is very experienced and she did my hair just like the picture I showed her. They also offer complimentary hair wash before your session! I initially found the store on Yelp and after checking out all the pictures I decided to give it a try and called. Give him an idea of what kind of cut you want and he'll give you something better than what you were imagining to get. Something that fits you. Been going to him for four years, and he takes his time and is definitely meticulous with his work. In my opinion, he's just as good as those NBA barbers, or maybe even better. Definitely a barber that builds relationships with his clients even outside of getting haircuts. Any family or friends that I've referred to Mark were never disappointed. Don't even think about it, just drop your barber and go to Mark. Also! I can't explain how much I love my hair. I've dyed and bleached my hair for years and this salon was by far the most amazing. Everyone did their best to give me the result I wanted. I love everything about my hair and most importantly it does not feel damaged. Before I went in I was worried my hair will be damaged after but I was so shocked at how my hair felt healthier then before. I just love the end results and the pricing was very reasonable. For those people that want balayage, ombré or anything that requires technique don't expect anything below $200. Second time coming here and wanted to try something a little new. My hair is naturally brown and black and honestly had no idea what I wanted to do. Two words, one barber. Mark Magcalas. Hands down loves his work and what he does. His attention to detail and creativity makes him a unique barber. Mark is not only a 5-STAR barber, but he will take the time to build a great rapport with his clients. It's the rapport he has with his clients are what brings me back to him. Great personality and easy to have conversation with. I know some barbers can come off intimidating and it'll be hard to find a common ground, but not with Mark. He's the type to take his time and figure out what haircut is best for you. He continuously is able to switch things up and use his creativity to give you different styles and looks that have you feeling brand new and confident as ever. I'm so grateful that I took my 2 boys (10 and 13 years old) to Jeanne for their haircut. Prior to Salon One 9, my boys were never happy with their haircut that were done at other salons. She asks if i can show her my inspo pics, i pull them show them to her, we talk about how blonde I want to achieve without damaging my hair much then immediately starts foiling my whole hair, I stop her and tell her that it's not what i want, I ask for baby highlights all over my hair, leaving Yes, she has to weave my whole hair and yet she still continues to foil my hair as if we didn't discuss anything. We get to the washing part the rinsing part and tell her immediately I don't like my hair there's too much darkness, I had to keep explaining what I wanted because why!? I thought she was a blonde specialist and knows what the customer me wanted from the inspo pics. Translation from pictures is obvious. She said she can fix it and there she goes again and rebleaches my hair, like seriously no care for my fragile hair and damaging it more then needed to begin with. At the end i check my hair all over, yes she got it blonder but was it necessary to reprocess my hair again. NO! To top it off I still had harsh lines and I o brought it up, just to be asked if I wanted to go darker!? Seriously!? What a waste of day and time! I spent 10 hrs there when my hair should have been done in the 6 hours. Still asking if I wanted to go darker!? No ! Do your job efficiently and right the first time. I left with harsh lines and over processed hair, and she calls herself a blonde specialist. Yeah you charge the price of a blonde specialist which I don't mind paying if the job was correctly done! But you definitely did not deserve my money! Lemma , you should be embarrassed for having your assistant refer me out to someone as professional as yourself.
