This was the last spot I hit with my friend. Kind of a mixture of all the other spots ventured during the outing. kinda loungey with lighting, a dance floor which was packed, divey corner with couples making out and a tiki-esque area complete with patio outdoor area. I only interacted with one of the bartenders and she was nice, but the crowd was kinda eh. I got a couple elbows because the dance floor was packed and you gotta walk through to get to the bar area. I understand you wanna get your groove on, but understand people are trying to walk through. Then while finishing up our drinks a girl pushed my friend. We knew it wasn't an accident because she looked back at us as if saying "what are you gonna do?". It was nearing last call so I don't know if this was the kinds of people who like to make their way in around this time, and don't want this to reflect on the venue itself but I have to say it made up part of our time here. Plenty of security at both exits, I counted 4 or 5 guys watching both ends, but if something pops off inside, I guess everyone involved gets the boot. Wouldn't be my first stop, but would give it another try with hopes for a more smooth visit and a more chill crowd. read more

Cool downtown bar! Better than a dive bar, they have relatively new decor, a nice crowd, but the same aupet amazing prices!!!$$$!!! They have happy hour 4-8 M-F which gets you $2 drafts....making the Guinness half off....meaning that Guinness is $4 to begin with! That was very cool. While waiting for our table to be ready at the restaurant next door, my friend and I decided to stop in for a beverage. They had great music going here, the bar staff was friendly, and they had a lot of options for those who drink more than beer. I would say that there could be more beer on tap options (or some better options at least). I had already had dinner and was looking for a bar to watch the Red Sox game at. Yelp led me to DT's down the street from my hotel and I'm so glad it did. It was a weeknight and there were only a few people at the bar, but this is expected as Greenville's nightlife during the week is pretty non existent. The crowd that was there was a few locals and F&B folks. Often times, as an outsider, you'd be excluded in a situation like that, but not at DT's. By the time I finished my first drink I was chatting with others at the bar about the game and was joining in on the "guess the song on the jukebox" game that seems to be an ongoing thing. I had a great time, met some fun people, and the Sox won the game too! read more

What I liked about this place was the outdoor/indoor experience. You could dance and socialize being indoors and then steps away you're going outside to the patio to continue the party and it just flows well. So theres outdoor seating and with the patio lights and just more room to breathe and socialize with different people that you didn't see earlier while indoors. While inside the ambience had the dimmer lights, the elongated bar, chairs set up on the wall to watch the dance floor and also tables to mingle at too throughout. The dance floor/area is small but fun. The indoor area was small but if you like socializing with strangers than it works because it's easier to talk with people since you're kinda close to one another. They played music that was easy to dance to, top 40 hip hop, it didnt have a lot of that edm mixed in which I like that it didnt because I like dancing to pure hip hop beats. I understand thats not everyones preference so there were people being wallflowers and when I asked why, I was told they wanted the music to flow better. I personally had no issue grooving to it. We were heading for ink n ivy but when we saw they were at max capacity and their line was at a stand still, I looked across the street and noticed this place. Happy to have noticed it. Had fun here. The crowd is mixed here with all types of backgrounds- mid to late 20s up to what looked like 50. All ethnicities mixed in. Beautiful women. Respectful men. I dig it. read more

Bartenders are a bunch of entitled jerks that order ubers and make the drivers wait while they suddenly decide to go out back and smoke when the driver arrives while they can be making money. When informed that the drivers can't wait, they tell the driver to start the "meter", except the drivers make only 4.20 cents a hour when standing still, hence further telling the driver " here's 60 cents while you wait for us to go smoke". They get ticked when you tell them you can only hold for 5 minutes and call you a "s**t d**k" and then try to physically threaten you. Captured this all on dash cam and will be posting to youtube. Attempted to threaten and intimidate me to remove a google review regarding the above incident on July 20th using their Facebook account. We made a tactical error the other night...we decided to go downtown on Christmas Parade night (none of us remembered it was parade night). After getting through the crowds, we wandered down E North to get away from all the parade watchers, and ended up at DT's. DT's is an unpretentious, perfectly acceptable corner bar. Although small, they have a full bar, decent selection of beers and (although we're not sure why) Sake. Our guess for the sake is that it's right down the street from Tsunami, so they perhaps get some pre or post sushi folks who want to continue on the same drink choice. Hey! What's up? DT's is kewl. Gay Billy is a very nice bartender and they have a better bar stock than several other places downtown I am too klassy to mention. While there are some customers who speak with a very loud voice that makes me flare my ears back, overall it is a good place for homosexuals to get their drink on. It is a little assey that you cannot bring drinks on the sidewalk and cannot smoke on the patio, but that is because Brown Street is an epicenter of Greenville downtown haute culture. Upon entering the establishment and sitting down at a clearly empty barstool the bartender asked the group of people next to me if the barstool was taken in the hopes of removing me from the seat. I can't even begin to explain how disappointed I am tonight after what I experienced at this bar. If I could leave 0 stars I would. It all started out fine, I sat down and attempted to call a bartender over. She blatantly ignored me & then proceeded to say "I can't serve you tonight". Okay. So I did what anyone would do and ask why. Ignored again. So I went to the bouncer and inquired about why I wouldn't be allowed to drink. He noted to the bartender I was good to drink. Great, simple solution. WRONG. I get my drink, hadn't even taken one sip, just to have it yanked out of my grasp & get told "you tryna be a sneaky bitch, you get no service". I am appalled, I have no idea why someone would be so rude to me, especially in the service industry, & especially considering I gave a 3 dollar tip to said bartender on a 6 dollar drink. So, keeping my cool at this point even though I felt/feel disrespected, I ask if I could please have my money back, since you know, I had not one sip. To that I was told "WHATEVER YOU CAN GET OUT, BYE! ...BYE!" Needless to say I get up and leave. I'm honestly still confused and baffled as to why I was treated so badly. Not only do I feel like the situation could have been handled better, but the employees should not have a job in this industry. You know I have been to TD's a dozen times and I really like it for what it is! An affordable and sometimes quiet and sometimes not, place to have a cocktail without pretentiousness. The bartenders are friendly and engaging, plus they have a great spot off Main St. To get your party started or wound down. The drinks are strong and priced right plus you can walk to wherever you want from here. If you want some real action wait until the SIN workers come out and really get the party going late night. It's is great on Friday and Saturday but can get packed as it is a hot spot! I really like Sundays and weekdays Bc you can find a spot for whatever mood you are in! There's an outdoor patio with an outdoor bar (if enough of a crowd). There's a dance floor when you first step in where you get a great mix of music no matter your age there's a song that will make you want to break it down. For when you're wanting to chill but still be in the environment there are these high top and low top tables around the bar that are great for hanging and talking with friends. Service is quick and friendly so I've never had to wait long for drinks. They have a great security team in place and continually are cleaning up so the place stays nice looking. I like this place. Seems very chill. Also tired if seeing the reviews that say "omg gays go here" get over it. The only downfall is how small it is as well as having to go around the building to smoke (can't smoke on the patio) but it's a decent atmosphere and decent prices. Nice little dive bar! Friendly staff, great happy hour prices. 4 people on one tab was less than $30 before tip! Small but cozy. They have a back patio that you can sitdown at with your dog. If you smoke, you must walk outside to the sidewalk. No smoking inside or on the back patio. Nice selection of liqours and beers to choose from. My friends and I were asked to leave if we did not have a drink in our hands at all times. Despite the fact that we had already purchased two drinks we were required to keep one at all times or leave the bar, including our designated driver. DT's has gone done over the years. They used to have a great DJ, less of a wait on drinks and more consistency. The dance floor is fun, don't get me wrong. but it can't fit many more people and it gets so hot. During the summer the patio is a good option but its not gonna draw crowds. The bartenders are unfriendly/rude and the clientele has gotten progressively sketchier. This used to be one of my preferred late night spots DT, but lately DT's hasn't even been in the running. read more

Had a dressy white shirt on, no collar. Got kicked out by a bouncer. He refused to explain why. Walked away as I was talking to him. I pointed out that women and several other men were wearing plain white t-shirts, far less dressy than my own. Walked away. No answer. A transgender was kicked out for wearing a dress at the same time. Very upset group. I have lived in Greenville my whole life and I have never seen such racial profiling and blatant discrimination up close and personal. Was told by the bartender and the bouncer that everyone in my group needed to be holding a drink or leave (I was already on my third drink there and it was sitting right next to me on the bar) and all but one friend was ordering drinks and he was a designated driver. The bouncer didn't care. We also found out that several of our friends were either turned away at the door because the bar was at full capacity (there were no more than 25-30 patrons in there at one time while we were there) or because it was ladies night (which was advertised as the night previous) and there weren't enough females in the bar, so they were made to wait outside in the cold until the bouncer decided it was OK for them to enter. I wouldn't recommend this spot and will not spend any more of my money in this establishment. Apparently they have a problem with gay customers. read more

DT's is my favorite place to have a drink. I go during Happy Hour, but I will have to go see what it looks like later after 8PM. The patio is wonderful for girl watching with all these haute coutures parading down beautiful Brown St in front of Jack and Diane's and Dilliard Jones. whoopee. The most beautiful women in the whirled live in Greenville, SC and take a look if you don't believe me. At the other end of the bar is the fabulous garage window where you can interact with the local, possibly attractive, natives and tourists. All this and $2 Guinesses and Sam Adams seasonals. This is my first negative Yelp review and hopefully the last. One of my friends suggested that we try DT's tavern last night. Having lived in Greenville for a number of years I thought it would be nice to try some place new. While waiting in line, the doorman walked over to me and stated that the bar's "dress code" did not allow black t-shirts or camouflage and unfortunate for me I had on both (black V-neck t-shirt and camouflage board shorts). I'm glad Nike shoes were not barred from the dress code otherwise I'd have 3 strikes. I can understand if I was underdressed going to a high end bar but this was not the case. While waiting for a friend that was already in the bar, this same doorman allowed two guys wearing black t-shirts into the bar. Five minutes later as we passed the bar to head back to the car, the doorman stated that the owner was now allowing people to go in with black shirts and camouflage, however, he did not offer me to enter, nor at this point would I have gone in anyway. I am glad that Greenville is diverse and growing with many great options for bars and restaurants. Fortunately, we went to another local bar, Connolly's Irish pub, and had a great experience there. For those visiting our beautiful city, suggest calling DT's and ask what its current "dress code" is prior to going or just simply pick a better choice. read more
