Came here as a visitor to DC and was hyped because of the high reviews and fun pictures. It was honestly underwhelming. There was a huge party there when we were there & the look of the place is nothing special. I got a brown sugar iced latte less sweet and my husband got a cookies and cream iced blend drink. Mine was way too sweet and his was just mediocre in flavor. Overall, I was disappointed. Just an average coffee shop in my opinion. read more

Cute little café in downtown DC (near Franklin Park). While small with limited seating, it's definitely worth a visit as you can get takeout or attempt to snag one of the outdoor tables. As others have said, the Kopi Kedua is a *must* try. I've had it both iced (perfect for a humid summer DC day) or hot (delicious) and would heartily recommend either option. It is sweet without being cloying, and is basically an Indonesian latte. Would be five stars just for the coffee, but gave four because I had the empanada and it was just ok (their other food options might be better). This is a place for true coffee connoisseurs run by true connoisseurs! There's a nice selection of specialty and unique blends and everything tastes right. There's some amazing non coffee options too like some of the matcha drinks and the vibes are so positive, so I would still recommend checking them out even if you're not into the coffee! I had a really fantastic pour over, and there was a great selection of coffees to choose from. The barista was super helpful and gave me a recommendation based on what I liked. While I wish I could have sat inside and enjoyed more time in the shop, they were operating with no indoor seating which was understandable. Alfajores dulce de leche pastry was delicious and coconut-light and crumbly/lightly-sweet. Pischok was okay, too much heavy pastry and not enough chocolate. Mint mocha, hazelnut latte, and Kopi Kedua lattes were great, especially the Kopi Kedua (which I thought was absolutely delicious). The mint mocha was quite light and could've been heavier (just my preference). Hazelnut latte was nice and smooth and creamy. Kopi Kedua was like a lighter version of Vietnamese coffee and was nicely roasted (deeper and more complex than mint mocha). Also, I thought the latte foam here is the best compared to all other latte foams I've had at other places! I usually don't drink lattes, as I am not crazy about their light (in my mind, meaning diluted) roasted taste or the foamy layer; however, the foam here was surprisingly very enjoyable. Light and creamy with perfectly small, excitingly-popping bubbles. If all lattes were like the Kopi Kedua, I would drink lattes more often! read more

Nice place and love the people here. They are very nice. They very kindly and quickly handled an initially cranky/grumpy customer. They were out of their matcha and hibiscus cider drink but cold hibiscus tea with no ice was also very good. Halal beef empanadas so adorable and soft and good. Dua has given me a sense of normal during these crazy times. They have stayed open throughout much of the pandemic, and I try to visit anytime I head into my office less than a block away. I first stumbled upon them pre-pandemic when the internet at my office went out and I was searching for a place with wifi. The large chain coffee shop next door didn't have any tables, so I ended up discovering Dua! I am so glad I did. While their seating area is currently closed, it is a super cute space. It's very cozy with wooden tables and glass jars of plant propogations everywhere. I have had my fair share of bad cappuccinos over the years: too hot, too bitter, burnt, etc. At Dua, they know what they're doing and they know how to make a proper cappuccino. It's perfect every time!! My only suggestion for improvement is their online ordering system. They receive orders but may not notice them or start making your drink until after you arrive. This isn't a big deal right now since they are rarely busy, but hopefully they'll get the system down for when things reopen and office workers are downtown again. Granted, I usually only order one drink - so maybe things would be different if you had a large order. So the next time you're downtown, swing by Dua and try their amazing coffee! I'm sure this place will explode in popularity once offices in downtown DC reopen. read more

The coffee is all sourced from Indonesia, I believe. I've enjoyed my americano and latte so far.
