The coffee is extremely sweet. Great if you like sweet coffee, but I could barely taste the coffee itself. Even though I asked for 50% sugar, it was still overwhelmingly sweet. When I stopped by, I noticed they were using a La Marzocco espresso machine. It's a shame they're not using it to its full potential. read more

DC is loaded with coffee shops. Many of them close by 5. We were headed for a different coffee shop but wanted to linger. So we chose this location (right by Metro Center). The seasonal drinks are fun. There is additional seating in the back of the coffee shop. If you want a pastry, visit earlier. There aren't many choices at 5pm. I noticed the National guard on this visit. read more

Listen I'm all for a good matcha and listen this Mango Matcha I had from here was delicious buttttttttttt honeyyyyyy the way my little 16oz drink was just ice I will never spend $7 on a cup of 3 sips and everything ICE again!!!!! Literally my whole cup was ice!!! I know I took 3 sips and my drink was gone! But next no ice or separate cup for ice! Drink was delicious atmosphere was lively and employees was super sweet! 11/30/2025 - Sunday night and a wonderful person helped me. My first time here. If you enter the right hand side door there is a step to a lower level. Watch out! Take the door to the left to enter and exit. No step and go order. I ordered a 16 oz Latte. No issues. Very good and great service. Very clean and vibrant inside. They are open 7 days a week and open at 7am. They plan to open at 6am down the road. read more

Good coffee shop in the Metro Center area. I had an oat milk latte and my friend had a burrito. The food/coffee were good, though a little pricey. I'd rather go to Tatte for a better latte, but it's decent if you don't want to walk up there or want to avoid the crowd. Vibe is good, love the decor. Overlooks the metro, so not a great view but that's not their fault. Service was prompt. read more

Came here during our sighting tour in Washington. It's a small nice café. We had a flat white, an americano and two spinach feta pastries. Everything was good and staff was nice. As we had no plates and disposable cups only, I take a star off, giving 4 well meant stars. read more

I was walking around downtown and found this place. It was close to the metro and the service was impeccable. The name of their matcha latte is called disco and the server even made a funny joke about it dancing (which worked well as a dancer myself). It's only named Disco but is their regular matcha. I got mine with oat milk and hot and I'd go back. It is a smaller location so not much seating -- keep that in mind. read more

I love this coffee shop and it is very conveniently located next to the Metro Center Station! I came here earlier today and it was my first time visiting this particular coffee shop, too. Although it is on the pricey side, so it will have to be an occasional treat for me. I had the Aztec Latte, which is made with chocolate and jalapeno peppers. As for food, I had the turkey sausage breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese. I will definitely be back again! I love a good coffee shop and this is definitely one of them. First timer here: Walked by, noticed the sign on the sidewalk that said "Fan's Favorite is Back .... Lavender Haze" and I must say .... I'm a new fan and it is indeed my favorite!!! Whew! The strong coffee taste, just enough of sweetness and lavender. Gimme moreeeee!!! Service was quick, everyone was so polite! The Coffee Republic has great energy and is welcoming. This is a great spot to pregame your carination before entering the metro or meet someone who is disembarking. They sell the best versions of mocha and what they sell called 'Disco Coffee' its a bit high in price but I do not mind as it was good but could be bigger in portion when being packaged. The baristas were so good at what they do and happy and patient to explain what drink combinations to order. read more

This coffee shop is right next to the Metro Center transit entrance so it's very convenient if you need coffee right when you hop off the metro. There's a few seats in coffee shop if you want to dine in. For drinks, I ordered the pumpkin spice latte and my friend ordered another specialty latte. I liked the vibe of the coffee shop and the staff were very nice so I really wanted to like this place, but both drinks were bad. I took a few sips and immediately wanted to toss the drink...it tasted like watered down, slightly spiced milk. My friend's drink wasn't any better, it tasted like steamed milk. Based on the coffee I'd give it 2.5 stars. I also tried the fruity cereal macaron which was wonderful, I'd purchase a box of that in a heartbeat. Skip the pink lemonade macaron it's not worth it. read more

Ordered a large Sugar Daddy and a breakfast sandwich. The place wasn't super busy for the normal morning rush so that was excellent. Had my sandwich and drink in my hands in a relatively quickly time. The place is quaint and seems to be a nice chill place to get a coffee. I visited DC for the first time the other day and had a very hard time finding a good coffee shop. I stumbled upon this place and it looked super cute and was reasonably busy so I thought it had to be good. The workers were so incredibly nice. The coffee however after I paid $9.60, was not nice. Lots of specialty coffees and teas and I enjoyed that the iced tea had a choice of five different loose teas they brew for you; however, two of my friends ordered the strawberry matcha latte and both got the strawberry fields chai instead. When they came out they weren't even slightly green so they asked a worker if these were correct and he confirmed they were matcha. After taking a sip it was clear they were chai instead of matcha. Luckily, another worker remade the drinks for them and all was well, but it was weird that a worker confirmed they were the strawberry matcha latte when the initial drink they were given was chai. read more

I ordered the bonanza coffee summer special and it was delicious! What I'm upset about is the $10 I paid for the smallest breakfast sandwich in the world... Called the powerhouse. It was supposed to feature steak, which it barely had any of. It also boasted of egg, cheese, horseradish, and bacon jam. It had more bacon crumbles than it did steak. We stopped by to get coffee and a snack. Conveniently right off of metro center station. It's clean on the inside and filled with modern decor. Service was good. The barista and cashier got our food and coffees made. We got there at the tail end of a rush. They have some fun/interesting fall coffees. We tried the "fall in a cup" and "smokey s'mores" also shared a spinach and feta pastry. The spinach and feta a pastry was good, we got it heated. The fall in a cup coffee was good. I got it with oat milk and it was not overly sweet and had notes of cinnamon and other spices. The Smokey s'mores was not bad. There were chocolate and marshmallow flavors, I just wish there was a toastiness that I think of when I think of "s'mores". Overall it's good just a little expensive for coffee and pastries. The coffee was for 16oz and ran about $7/8, and milk substitute was $1.20. read more

The gf and I were craving our next caffeine fix and decided to stop by here while on our day trip to Georgetown. I got the hot Nutty Truffle latte that tasted good but to be honest nothing that wowed me and the gf got one of their seasonal cold lattes that felt similarly to what I thought. Overall good coffee and would go back if I was in the area but not something I would crave. The service was amazing though. They were super chill and even conversed with us some since were not from the area some things to see. Lastly the style of this place might be one of the coolest coffee shops I've seen. Interesting and different selection of coffee other than your typical fare from the big chains. Of course if you want to have something safe, they have that too. I had the snickerdoodle latte and I wouldn't have expected to taste like anything else other than a snickerdoodle. Limited selection of pastries, but that's okay. A lot of colors and neon as soon as you step in, too. Highly recommend to stop by and try something different. Friendly service to top it off. Give it a try! read more

As someone who works in the industry and is very familiar with coffee and coffee shops, I was genuinely shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff was. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed -- perfect for a quiet morning coffee, catching up with a friend, or getting a bit of work done. The coffee itself is excellent -- rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. You can tell the baristas take pride in what they do. My latte was perfectly balanced, and the espresso had a deep flavor without any bitterness. Their pastries and breakfast sandwiches are fresh and flavorful, too -- not your typical grab-and-go fare. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff are genuinely friendly, always greet you with a smile, and remember their regulars. It's the kind of neighborhood spot that makes DC feel a little smaller and a lot more personal.
