It hardly had any flavor. 3 stars Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and helpful - 5 stars Ambiance was very good, even tablecloths in our section - say 4 stars My fellow diners liked the bread (I didn't have any). None of us was enthusiastic about our appetizers or entrees. One seafood entree had to be returned as it was way overcooked. I had two appetizers: the calamari and the meatballs. After a few disappointing dinners I have not been back to Luigi Di Roma's in about a year but since I was nearby I gave it another try and it was surprisingly good. We tried several items and all were very good with a Rigatoni Broccoli Rabe being the standout. One thing consistent with the restaurant is they have the best staff and this from the host to the waiters and bartenders. Throw in reasonable prices, excellent drinks and easy parking and it's easy to see why the restaurant is popular. read more

This is definitely not the place to have a large group party. The service was very slow. My chicken was burnt. The food however was served hot except the rigatoni which was cold. We paid a lot of money for our dinner and it wasn't worth it. Large parties should have more servers. You shouldn't have to wait an hour for a salad. read more

Came here for dinner with my family and had a great experience. We came a little early for our reservation so we had to wait for our table, and decided to get drinks from the bar. We got 5 drinks for $30, and they gave us HH prices even though it was 8pm on a Saturday. Once we finally got our table, we had a great server and amazing food. The portions are enough for 2-3 people, or leftovers for days haha. They even were able to accommodate our off menu requests. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Would definitely come back again. read more

Unfortunately, the bartenders tonight, could use a bit more focus on customer engagement--something as simple as a smile and acknowledgment goes a long way. We understand how busy it can get; however, after years of coming here for personal parties and bar gatherings with friends, we've noticed a decline in that personal attention. Over the years, bartenders in this establishment have provided the level of attentiveness and quality customers deserve. Tonight, without mentioning names, has been so very different and sadly not welcoming. Bartending skills and attention to customers is very important. I Love Luigi's- always have. Came in here on Christmas Eve and Sabrina took great care of us. We were a large group and she was on it the whole time. We got a bottle of the house wine, which was pretty good, especially for the price. I got the eggplant Parmesana and rigatoni alla vodka. Both made perfect! I got an extra side of ricotta to go with my rigatoni and it was amazing. The table in general ordered a sampler, which was a great snack to start the table off as well as the calamari added. The calamari is LARGE! Overall an amazing experience and thank you so much for Sabrina for working with us on the check at the end and taking the time to organize everything. Went in tonight with my family, we ordered macaroni and meatballs, a salad, a soup and an Italian feast platter with meatballs, sausage, eggplant and peppers. The meatballs and macaroni were solid, the salad was good and the eggplant was our favorite from the family platter. The waiter was nice and the hostess looked very preoccupied like we were bothering her. The restaurant was standard Italian fare. Good overall, we liked it. read more

We were greeted as we walked into the doors by a most friendly Brenda, who I believe was the owner or Manager and our server, Travis that we were assigned was superb! The food was beyond our expectations (photos coming next). We chose a bottle of a house red that was an Italian Montipulc- can't spell or pronounce, but were given a sample to try, which ultimately was the deciding factor. The entertainment was wonderful with a singer that had an amazing voice, but we were across the restaurant so could only hear, not view. The decor was so "zen" with various types of couples, families, even a baby, but the baby didn't cry or disrupt the various festivities happening around us. It was a magical night and one we will definitely experience there again; especially, on Wine Wednesday! I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant! Luigi Di Roma is always satisfying. We feel very comfortable bringing friends and family to enjoy their fabulous menu. This evening I opted for the shrimp special. The butterflied shrimp was stuffed with crab meat and served with a side of pasta. I enjoyed every morsel . Hubby Opted for his favorite Chicken Scarpariello . Finally made it to Luigi di Roma...and SO glad we did!!!! Walked in, atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Clean (thats HUGE with me!), very welcoming by staff too. We sat down, our waiter Joseph was great and it was so attentive. Our meals came out in an orderly time and truly looked fantastic. My chicken milanese was superb. And the caesar salad was amazing too. It seems like a simple salad but they actually nailed it. My fiance got a panini caprese and fries and that simplicity again came out awesome. My mother in-law got the salmon with rigatoni and she loved it and she is 1 picky eater. Male, older bartender, with beard and graying hair was extremely rude. Asked to place order for drinks and he just walked away without acknowledging the order request. 10 minutes later he comes over to see what you wanted almost as if we were bothering him... Typically you will have a bartender that wants to take drink orders and be somewhat pleasant so they can make tips/money. Perhaps management can review with this bartender, that you need to be polite and not give back an ugly dead stare towards the customer...not much to expect or ask. read more

Excellent service and great food. 3 in our table ordered the Meatball-stuffed Eggplant Parm and I ordered a lovely Salmon Marco Polo sautéed in ginger, shallots and tomato. Each dish came with a choice of side (either veggie or pasta). That Eggplant Parm was exceptional! We would definitely come back for that again. My Salmon dish was very good too and cooked perfectly. This was by far the worst dining experience we have ever had. We made a 5:30 reservation for 5 adults and 2 young children. My son and grandchildren were visiting, and we wanted to have a nice dinner with them. We were previous customers. See what follows 1. We were seated at 5:30 pm and immediately told that we had to be out by 7:00 pm 2. Joe S the server came over and told us we needed to be out at 6:50 so they can reset the table. 3. He rushed us to order which we did and kept reminding us throughout thee meal. He was very frustrated as he made a mistake on his ipad and had to cancel it out. 4. A large salad and appetizer were served. We requested plates and utensils three times. 5. The main dishes came. We asked the food runner to please remove the dirty plates from the table. He had an attitude. He removed some of the dirty plates, left about half of them, that sat on our table the entire meal. He bolted in a hurry and there was no supervision or follow up. 6. We finished our dinner at 6:30 (before the 7:00 time limit. 7. He did not want to serve us dessert. 8. My elderly Mother want a cup of tea. Joe A. said no. 9. I complained to management and he came back and said he would bring the tea but she had to drink it quickly - within 10 minutes. She wouldn't order it. 10. They brought us the check; they comped 50% of the food cost but left the tip at 18% of the full amount. No discount is worth this aggravation! Came to see Estevan the singer. Sat at the north side of the bar. Can't hear the singer. Why does the bar hire an excellent singer then turn the sound down in the bar area. This has only been the case for the last two months. I brought my parents in, visiting for Indiana. They could not hear Estevan. We sat from 4:00 pm. Waiting for the show. Note the south area of the bar has standing reservations. So even if you are at the door when they open you can't get to that side of the bar. Horrible. Time to change where I go on Sunday's night. Shame as the bar tenders are great. The entertainment would be great if only you could hear him. Change your policy Luigi's on shutting out the sound on half of the bar. Awful experience. read more

We have come to this restaurant for a few years. The regular singer on Sunday nights is excellent. The issue is that people in the restaurant have complained about the singers volume in the restaurant. BIG PROBLEM because if you sit on the north side of the bar you can see him perform. But cannot hear him. After several complaints to management, still no resolution. If you come for the singer. Don't bother. Or sit outside without ordering food or drink.. Dined on a Friday night for an Italian craving. There was live music -- typical lounge singer catering to an older clientele demographic. Luckily the music wasn't too loud so I could have a conversation at the table. Hostess at front let me stand for a few minutes before seating me as she was on the phone; which was annoying, but she let me choose a table which I appreciated. The super Tuscan was chilled and had a nice fruit flavor. Enjoyed bread with olive oil and balsamic which was a nice touch. Our server Nick was amazing! Friendly, professional and on top of things. Started with the Margherita flatbread which was a unique take on the classic. It had a nice cheese flavor. The chicken parm was kind of disappointing as it was a thick cut with some chewiness to it. Excellent. This is an amazing local place. Tremendous food, lively atmosphere, and GREAT service. You can tell the owners take pride in their establishment and it shows. Nestled in a strip mall, there is a lot of parking and they also have valet. The Hostess (brown hair, works all of the time) is extremely personable and efficient. TIP: I would recommend reservations bc during prime time it gets packed. The bar is usually always busy (the bartender makes an amazing martini) and they have a musician on the weekends. Came here for NYE celebration with a few friends. When I called to book the reservation they said they were nearly full which I took as a good sign. There was a set menu of 4 courses for $115/pp and the menu seemed decent. First course was off to a bad start though. A couple of us ordered calamari that came out so pale and rubbery than we've ever had anywhere. My friend actually got sick immediately after because we think they were undercooked. Then came the main courses. We ordered a few ribeyes and the veal parm. The ribeye was GRAY and so overcooked.....the veal parm was huge portion but was undercooked and raw when you cut into it. One of the veals we sent back to be more cooked but pretty sure they just microwaved it. The only thing we enjoyed was the tiramisu dessert. Not worth the price tag. The waiter was kind. The drinks were decent. This seems petty to mention but even the countdown to the new year was off by a minute. Will not be returning- which is unfortunate as we live so close. read more

As you are no doubt aware, restaurants from fast food to fine dining are having a hard time. Hence, I am not reviewing a restaurant unless I can give a high rating. The reason I say this is that I ate at two Italian Restaurants in the past week. The first one in Lighthouse Point I will not review because only three tables were occupied and the portion size and preparation did not warrant a return visit. I do not want to put another nail in their coffin. Now to Luigi Di Roma The good: We could self park in the shopping center close to the restaurant on Thursday night at 6:30 pm. It is cold in Deerfield Beach so I assume many people are staying warm at home. However, when we arrived the main room had many of the tables occupied. Mostly with Sunshine Menu customers who had to be there by 6 pm to get that menu. We were seated quickly, and George our wait-person came quickly. He took our orders on his ipad, and as he turned to leave the table a server delivered our soup order. Wow! Cold night and hot soup. Pasta Fagioli was tasty and had plenty of beans and pasta. We had the linguini with clam sauce the was an abundant portion some of which we took home and it had little necks and claim pieces in the delicious sauce. We also ordered the special rib veal chop which a good size and was cooked as requested and very good. We enjoyed the coffee and dessert. The only miss was the calamari rings. It was slow in coming to the table. Not like the soup. It is called calamari because it sounds better than squid. For some reason that escapes me, the line cook that made it, poured salt crystals all over it. It was also chewy. If we wanted salt, each table has salt and pepper grinders. You put garlic powder if you are going to put anything on after it is cooked. In some reviews where a dish is criticized, I wonder if the reviewer knew how it should taste. Well, my go to dish that I have when available in any Italian Restaurant is always fried calamari rings. I have had it in more than 20 states and foreign countries that included Italy. I have also taught adult cooking classes. In case the restaurant reads this review the easy and fool proof way to make it tender is soak in milk for 5 hours with some baking soda. Also to make it take on color quicker (so it is not overcooked which makes it chewy) add corn starch to flour or crumb coating. When we got home we saw George took it off the bill. So, this is a restaurant that makes good food and if you like prime rib come on Friday night. read more
