A Five-Star Couples Experience at K'ALMA Spa - Miami Beach…read more My daughter gave my husband and me a couples massage package for Christmas, and I was so excited when I finally decided to use our certificate on Friday, April 17, 2026. We had a 1:30 PM appointment at K'ALMA Spa, located inside the Viktor Hotel at 1144 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. Let me start by saying--I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this certificate! From the moment my husband and I arrived, the experience was wonderful. There is valet parking directly in front of the hotel, and we paid $50 for all-day parking, which was convenient because we were able to enjoy the area without worrying about moving our car. When we walked into the hotel, the young lady at the front desk was extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful. We were escorted to the spa's changing area, which was beautiful and had all the amenities you would expect in a comfortable home bathroom. We were provided with lockers where we could safely store our belongings and change into our spa attire. After changing, we were taken into the Tea Room, where our relaxing experience really began. We were then given a mini tour of the spa. K'ALMA Spa is located one level below the hotel's lobby entrance, and when you walk into the spa, you immediately notice how beautiful, spacious, peaceful, and inviting the atmosphere is. There are even tables where you can purchase products to take home, including spa lotions, exfoliators, candles, incense, and other relaxing goodies. Another lovely young lady gave us a tour of the different rooms, and I thought the attention to detail was amazing. Each room had its own purpose. There was a meditation room, as well as a peaceful reading room where guests can sit, relax, and read something inspirational. Then came the part we were really looking forward to--our couples massage! Our massage therapists were Mr. Nirioldis Turro, who was my therapist, and Ms. Arlettis Bautista Velazquez, who was my husband's therapist. Mr. Turro was absolutely wonderful. Before beginning, he asked me several important questions about the reason for my visit and what areas I wanted him to focus on. I really appreciated that because he wasn't simply giving me a standard massage--he was listening to what I needed. And let me tell you, he was AMAZING from head to toe! He focused on all of my sore areas, especially my shoulders, lower back, and neck. He worked on my muscles, incorporated stretching, and paid attention to the areas where I was experiencing tension. There was honestly nothing about the massage that I did not enjoy. I LOVED IT ALL! My husband had the same wonderful experience with Ms. Arlettis. She listened to the areas he wanted addressed and definitely went to work! By the end of the massage, he felt rejuvenated, relaxed, and completely at ease. The atmosphere made the experience even better. There was soft, peaceful music playing, along with beautiful water sounds that reminded us of water flowing down a mountain. At one point, Ms. Arlettis had my husband so relaxed that he actually started snoring! And you know a massage is GOOD when your husband falls asleep during it! After our massages, we discovered another wonderful surprise about the package my daughter gave us for Christmas. It wasn't just a massage--it came with additional rewards and benefits, including access to the Viktor Hotel's restaurants, pool, and bar. And the location couldn't be better! You are right on Ocean Drive, where there is always something happening. There are restaurants, entertainment, stores, boutiques, beautiful scenery, and so much more. You can easily make an entire day out of the experience. But let me get back to K'ALMA Spa, because this place deserves its own recognition. This was truly a FIVE-STAR SPA EXPERIENCE! From the welcoming staff, beautiful surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, thoughtful tour, comfortable facilities, and, most importantly, the exceptional massage therapists, my husband and I were extremely impressed. I assumed I wasn't relaxed yet and he would finish later. Then he went to my right arm. For less than 10 minutes a asked for more pressure because it was more like a back rub. It was only harder for a few minutes. Then my left arm. Again. Like a back rub. Not a deep tissue. So light I fell asleep. You should not be able to fall asleep during a deep tissue massage. There also shouldn't be a problem with me falling asleep. But. When I complained he kept saying I fell asleep like that was a problem. The table is also extremely narrow. Barely enough room for my arms at my side. Laying on your back trying to hold your arms up is not comfortable When he took the the eye Mask off and told me he was finished. I Burst into tears. I didn't feel much better than when I went in. He tried to justify it by tell me that the rest of my body felt better. Right. Then tried to blame it on me falling asleep. If you were traveling for work and staying at this hotel, and needed a day to just forget that everyone existed, this would be great for that. My friends and I flew down from Richmond during a crazy winter storm and decided to get a day pass here among other things. The day pass included spa access during their open hours, as well as pool access. Unfortunately, because of the unseasonably cool weather, the hotel had not opened the pool which pretty much made the spa the only option for anyone else who had purchased the resort pass too, and I'm just not sure the facilities were up to that task. The spa itself had a relaxation area, which was three lounge chairs in the room with a hot tub and a cold tub. In the room next to that, there was a dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a shower. I'm not a huge fan of the dry sauna, dry heat isn't really my thing, but I did rather like the wet sauna room. It was nice and large, and the hot steamy air felt great on my poor frozen winter storm lungs. The cold plunge pool is also not my thing, but the hot tub was awesome, but it had a couple of pretty huge problems. The first was that it was up a flight of stairs. Everyone in our party has limited mobility in some fashion and One of our party uses a walker and isn't super mobile at all, so it was very difficult to actually make it to the hot tub. Might have been nice to know it wasn't actually accessible before we booked the spa. Luckily, even though she isn't super mobile, she is able to haul herself very slowly up stairs, provided it has a nice sturdy railing... Which it did have a railing... unfortunately the railing was completely loose at the bottom and not particularly sturdy since it was only partially connected. It had stone steps, and due to the nature of the room, they were a bit wet so they had nonskid stickers on them, but it had unfortunately peeled up and was mostly loose. Ultimately, our friend ended up using us as the steady banister to get up the stairs, but that probably wasn't any safer since it wasn't like we had anything to hold onto because again... slippery stairs and loose banister. We made it up safely, and then try to get in the hot tub. The tub itself is square, has a ladder railing, but we couldn't actually see any ladder steps, so we kind of had to guess where was safe to get in the pool. Being the most mobile of the group, I ended up sitting on the edge of the tub and feeling around with my feet until I figured out that the tub has three walls with stone benches around it that we could step on and get in. We only actually figured out after getting out that the pool had sunken footholds in the wall, not an actual ladder. Never would have found those getting in, but learn from our ignorance. The hot tub is awesome, the jets were great and absolutely the thing we needed after the plane flight and freezing winter storms, but everyone else felt that way too, so we were unable to get back in it again like we would have liked. We ended up heading out earlier than we intended and just sitting outside for the rest of our stay. Overall, the place is small, which makes it hit or miss as to whether or not you can use the facilities, which makes it hit or miss as to whether it is a good value for the day pass. You may luck out, or you may strike out.

I asked for firm pressure and to focus on my upper back and neck on my intake form and that's exactly what he did which I appreciated a lot because I've been to many spas where the massage therapist seems to not even read the intake form! After my massage Abel gave me a paper with a few product recommendations to promote relaxation, which was very nice! My advice is to ask for Abel and get the 80 minute massage as 50 goes by in the blink of an eye! While visiting the spa you also have access to the locker rooms with showers, bathrooms, beauty bar complete with hair dryers, shampoo, etc, a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The attendant in the women's locker area, Gigi, was super kind and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, she was great! Besides the incredible staff, the ambience of the spa is nice but pretty underwhelming. My mom and I both noticed that the jacuzzi located inside the women's facility had very uncomfortable seating. For example, some jacuzzis are fully tiled on the inside so you can sit on the stairs or the seating but all is tile and flat. The jacuzzi at the spa had a prickly plaster-like interior on the seating, steps, and bottom of the hot tub that was very uncomfortable to sit on so I didn't spend long in here. The outside jacuzzi by the adult pool is much better. While the overall ambiance and decor was nice, like I said I felt underwhelmed. The service was incredible but I wish they'd do more with the space!
