Ernie, is a nice guy and at one time did a lot of work for us at our home and rental property over the years. However, after asking numerous times for a receipt he did not reply and never provided receipts. His guys are great and always did a good job, but he would not return calls and his service seemed to go downhill. This is the second time I have contacted Duarte Electric for residential service repair. I was greeted again by a very friendly-sounding voice which I assume is Ernie but I don't know that for sure. He was able to get Eddie out to my house within a couple of hours. Eddie, who is every bit as friendly as the voice on the phone, arrived and got right to work troubleshooting. Patio heater to our 13' x 14' covered patio so we could enjoy being outside during the late Fall to early Spring months. I purchased a 6,000 W. Infratech heater and called Ernie Duarte for an estimate. He was out the next morning, took time to understand what I wanted, and emailed a bid in two days. The price was fair and work started about ten days later. Ernie brought two experienced tradesmen with him that were respectful, pleasant, and focused on their work. Three hours later, an old sub-panel was replaced, rigid and flexible conduit was run, the switch was installed, the heater mounted, and the final connection was made. When I originally phoned Ernest to install the Ev charge in the garage, he was immediately attentive and able to complete all of the work on schedule. He came across as quite professional and volunteered to obtain the permit as well. After he installed the EV charger, I followed up with him on the permission, but he lied and said he had just returned from vacation and would check on the permit status. I contacted the city of Elk Grove and discovered that he had never applied for the permit. I also requested the invoice, but I never received a response from him. Fortunately, I only had to pay for the service fees and not the permit expenses. If you intend to utilize this service, do not pay in full until you have received all of the papers you require. My family used Duarte Electric since we moved to Sacramento years ago. This round, I wanted to extend 2 outdoor floodlights. On 20th Nov 2020 was extension of less than 6 feet of first floodlight. On 5th Jan 2021 was the second extension of another outdoor floodlight. Ernie has a price for 6 feet of conduit and under, additional cost of $55 for 6-15 feet. When Eddie and Carlos arrived and took measurement, this second project was 5 inches over 6 feet. They had brought with them a packet of 6 feet conduit. By now I was looking for a way not to incur that 5 inches. Eddie and Carlos called Ernie who graciously said no extra charge for the 5 inches extra so that I get to put my floodlight where I like it.
