As a 47 yr old man, I've had many trainers over the past 20 years, but Ali has been my favorite since he is very mild mannered...he is not over the top...he is down-to-earth and focused on results. He comes up with strategies if he notices anything that needs to be fixed, i.e. if muscle gain is slowing down he points out what could be improved nutrition-wise (more protein, adding creatine). Or if muscle growth seems asymmetrical he notices and makes adjustments accordingly. Again, I can't emphasize enough how "normal" he is, as opposed to many of the OC trainers who are covered in tattoos, clubbing at night, and telling you about their personal problems. Ali is very wholesome and successful, so there is no drama with him. His boutique gym has everything you need, especially if you understand how compound movements really increase growth, so plenty of free weights, racks, cages, bands, kettles, etc, not to mention 24 hr access and a great sound system.

During my walk, I noticed a small office packed with gym equipment. Out of curiosity, I poked my head inside and this fitness/trainer dude popped out of nowhere. He said his name was Rob and he asked me if I wanted to check out his new operation. He showed me all of his Nautilus equipment and claimed that he'd been a trainer for many years. Anyway, he offered me a free training session and explained how his program works (slow motion reps on each of the machines and it will take at least a minute and a half to two minutes to complete the reps on each machine). His session options are brief: 15/25/35 minutes. Since I was in no shape to train at that moment, I made an appointment to return the following week (on August 9)......which is TODAY! I made it through the one hour training demo and it was enlightening. Rob is very knowledgeable and I felt very safe using each machine. I'm over 60 and have a tight/nagging shoulder issue and Rob helped me work around my discomfort. I decided to join and opted for the 15 minute sessions twice a week (6 machine movements spread across 13-15 minutes). I can't wait to see how I look and feel in the coming months. Stay tuned.....

Gym's response alludes to the manager informing me about the 50% off disclaimer over the phone. She did tell me the offer wont apply online because I did the trial class but she did not inform me it only applies to the unlimited class. Both the email and over the phone communication had no mention of what membership offer applies to. After my initial trial class, I was interested in signing up for membership. I received an email with a 50% off your first month offer with zero disclaimers or details such as what type of membership offer applies to. When I clicked the link, offer didnt work so I called the gym. Person over the phone said they can apply the offer in person. When I went to class, front desk told me offer only applies to the unlimited membership. I informed her the email and the person I spoke to didnt tell me that. She asked if I would like to join the class while she checks with the manager. After class she confirmed it only applies to unlimited membership. I told her if the email or person over the phone told me then I would have planned this better bc I will be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Ultimately I did not sign up. The lack of clear communication made me concerned about how future situations might be handled and ended up having to pay for the single class price.
