After spending $1800 a different shop, the noises were still there. We decided we needed a second opinion. The people at Bexley were amazing! They checked the previous work and found the actual problem. The repair service and the staff were wonderful. More importantly, the owner (Kyle), went above and beyond for the comfort of my mother. She was dealing with the car for me and does not like to drive in the city. On the first day that they had the car Kyle called her and told her he wanted to show her the issue, when she said she would grab an Uber, he insisted on picking her up! After he walked her through the issues with the car, he drove her back! During their time in the car together he asked how she was liking Columbus. She said she had not had much time to explore since she had been dealing with the car. She had really wanted to check out the Conservatory but didn't think she would make it after all. The next day Kyle drove her there and bought her the ticket! Then after she had spent the day, he brought her my repaired car! Thank you Kyle for treating my mom (and my car) so well!

On March 30th, I took the car to Cheeseman's after AAA had told me that I had a bad pulley. I asked that the pulley be repaired, and also asked that the brakes be checked, as I had heard them grinding. Later the same day, I was told that my AC compressor had to be replaced, and that all the brakes were fine except that the front ones would need to be replaced fairly soon. I opted to just have the compressor repaired at this time. When I drove the car that evening, I still heard the back brakes grinding, smoke coming from the engine, and the turn signals and hazard lights were no longer working properly. I thought about taking the car back to Cheeseman's, but before I got a chance, they called me and told me that they had forgotten to charge the AC compressor, and asked that I bring my car back in so they could do that. I agreed, and dropped my car off first thing this morning. A short time later, I returned their call to learn that the AC condenser needed to be replaced. I was also told that the back brake shoes and drums had to be replaced. I found this odd as I was told the day before that there was no problem with the back brakes. I had also asked that the relay switch for the turn signals and hazard lights be checked, but I'm not sure if that was even done. They asked for another $750 to fix the condenser and $450 to repair the back brakes, after I had already paid $1100. When I first took the car in, I had asked them initially to let me know what the full cost of repair was going to be, as I wanted to make a decision as to whether or not it was worth it to have such an old car repaired. If I had known that the back brakes needed to be repaired, I would have had them do that the first time I took the car in, but the lady I spoke with on the phone assured me several times the brakes were fine and that the grinding noise was probably due to dust and debris buildup. Not only am I very disappointed that my car is not repaired, the turn signals and hazard lights no longer function properly and I can't even drive it because of the brakes. I feel pretty stupid and embarrassed for trusting Cheesman's with my car, and was literally holding back tears when I went to retrieve it. They had had great reviews and recommendations on my neighborhood Facebook page. I will be taking my car to another shop to have my car properly repaired, as well as to check the work done by Cheeseman's. Honestly, if I had known that the total repairs would be well over $2000, I prwould have started purchasing another car instead.

One thing to note there's not really a waiting area at this shop but the location is only a 8 min walk from a great coffee shop and the library where you can spend time until your vehicle is finished. He stated that the mechanic who…read moredid the work on my vehicle no longer works for him and Mike is refunding me the cost of having to put the second set of pads on as well as the entire cost of the caliper that never should have been put on the car in the first place. I find it ironic that the owner Mike states in his history blurb that he started the shop because he was tired of seeing people get ripped off, well that's exactly how I feel, ripped off by Sanderson Automotive. I thought we were doing a good thing by trying to support a local mechanics shop when my Focus, that I had been taking to Ricart for service for years needed new brake rotors and pads. I will say that Sanderson got us in quickly, but then also found that we needed a new battery and they stated that the lug nuts on the wheels were swollen and needed replaced, so that's also a lie when they state that they don't "find" things that need replaced on your car, they do. So this was a $986 bill. The very next day when I was driving to work the car was making a horrible scraping noise, as if i were dragging a sheet of metal behind the car. So I called them and they did get me in the same day to look at the car. By the time I had left work early to get this issue looked at the car had stopped making the noise, so naturally they didn't find anything. Next, a few weeks later the car started making a horrible rattling noise every time I went over the smallest bump. So once again I have to take my car back to them and they said this time that it was the brake caliper over retracting and causing it to rattle. The noise definitely came from the rear passenger side, and when they diagnosed the problem they asked if i wanted to have both calipers replaced. I said no because it was already going to be $371, and why would I replace something that wasn't broke? Sure enough within two days of having the caliper replaced the same exact noise was coming from the driver side of the car. At this point this all seems far too coincidental, the manager, Josh, that I had been dealing with the entire time, stated that there was no harm in driving with the car like this as it was not a safety issue. So by this point I'm tried of having my car into their shop, so I just let it go for a while. We finally decide it's time to have the issue taken care of so we take the car back to Ricart, at this point I don't trust Sanderson. I explained to Ricart what they had previously done to the car and after their inspection they called and said that there was nothing wrong with the brake caliper, and that whoever had installed my brake pads last time forgot to put the anti-rattle clips on the pads. Sure enough two days later and not a single rattling noise. So at this point I have had brake pads installed on the car twice in six months and a caliper replaced for no reason and I'm out $679 and hours of my time because of Sanderson's incompetence. Also, we were contacted by the owner, Mike, via text a few months ago about how our experience was and we mentioned that it was not good and we have received no response. As of writing this we also called and left a voicemail asking for them to call us and explain why they didn't installed the clips and then missed it a second time when I went back and they decided to charge us for a caliper. It has been two days with no response. In summary, Sanderson's will be happy to take your money, charge you for things you don't need and never call you back. Save yourself they hassle and don't patronize them.

They now have a bigger facility, nice customer lounge with TV and free cold beverages. They recently got a new logo, and business is booming. All their mechanics are ASE certified, and they know what they are doing. I have three vehicles that I have serviced here regularly for brakes, tune ups, air conditioning, suspension and occasionally oil changes. In one of my vehicles I needed a new engine and they gave me three options depending on your budget: Junk yard used engine with 30 day warranty, reconditioned engine with one year warranty or new engine with three year warranty. I opted for the new engine. My vehicle now runs very good and have had no other issues with the engine since the engine was replaced. Their prices are very very reasonable compared to other mechanics. I always shop around and they almost always come in below what other shops charge. I trust them and I won't go anywhere else. Customer for life.

They told me the diagnosis would cost $110.00, it would take an hour or so to check the suspension and the charge would be credited towards repairs that would be scheduled at a later date. When I arrived a few minutes early for my scheduled appointment time they asked if I could leave my vehicle for the weekend as they didn't have time for my scheduled appointment. They tried to explain that they had a technician leave a week before they made my appointment. No phone call before I got there to advise me of their problems. It's apparent that customer service is not one of their top priorities. I'm going to steer clear of this place and definitely would not recommend them to anyone!
