She explained that they had 15 cars towed in that day along with all of the appointments. Uggh. She offered me a discount for my next service. Great value with the coupon. I had a relatively bad experience here. Car was having trouble restarting with auto start/stop, so we replaced the battery which did not solve the issue. The car stopped starting all together, so we had it towed here. Being a AAA member, I had sole trust they could diagnose a pretty simple problem and resolve it relatively cheaply. Their diagnosis was it was a bad battery. When they called to let us know, I explained that was likely the least possible scenario. Surely they checked the starter? Anyway, they charged me over $100 to pay for a diagnostic fee, to tell me the battery was bad - a free service at any auto parts store and also on a brand new battery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had no choice but to pay because it was a weekend, and was closing soon, and I needed to get it towed to a different shop to get the starter replaced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the service manager to explain, and ask they refund the diagnostic fee since it was wrong and poorly diagnosed. He was too busy to talk and said he would call back. Still waiting for that call[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I don't think they intentionally tried to take advantage of me, but that was a pretty incompetent diagnosis of a car that wouldn't start and will not rely on them again. read more

i was on my way to church services on February 1. The care went haywire. I got home. I called roadside service they came when they said they would be there. I had the car taken to Grandview AAA. They were extremely busy due to the bad weather. To make a long story short my car was serviced on Tuesday and I was able to pick it up on Wednesday afternoon after work. It was a valve and serpentine belt issue. It was repaired. Going to work on Thursday morning, the battery and engine light came on. I took it back to Grandview. As BUSY as they were they bumped me to the front of the line. It seems the belt had come off. They ordered the part needed. I was able to wait for my car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Denise, the Manager, offered me a ride home and pickup when the car was ready, but I declined. I was there so I waited but I appreciated the offer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The problem was resolved and I was able to leave with only 3 hours down time. They were very concerned about ME. I want to state the car is 18 years old. The reason I have had the car for 18 years is the service I have received at AAA. On April 18th I had my battery and alternator replaced at this shop. The alternator they put in was defective after about a week. I had it replaced at my usual mechanic because they are reliable and fast. My mechanic said it was just a defective part and that there weren't any issues with the installation. They tested the part and provided me with the test strips showing that the alternator wasn't charging. I went back to AAA to ask about getting a refund for the part. I did everything as they requested at that point. I took my car in with the paperwork from my mechanic and the defective alternator. I gave the part to Michael at AAA because he said they would try to get a credit for it from the manufacturer. He made copies of my paperwork and said they would contact me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has been a month now without any update. When trying to call this shop I consistently have to wait on hold for over twenty minutes until I eventually lose patience and give up. Today I have tried to call twice and have been on hold for over 40 minutes collectively.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]About two weeks ago, I managed to get connected with another employee, Ryan, who took my information and told me that they would call me back. They never called back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prior to that day I tried to call and use the automated waitlist for a call back. Later on, their number came up on my phone for only a split second but not long enough for me to answer it. When I redialed, I was again placed on hold. I don't have a claim number or an estimate on how long I should wait before getting an answer. I'm trying to be patient about this, and I'm prepared to wait as long as it takes, but none of this is professional or organized. I wouldn't be as frustrated if they told me that I couldn't get a refund because at least that would be an answer. However, since Michael said they would be trying to get a credit for the part it seems like there is a possibility that they are getting a credit for a part that I paid for while I get nothing. If possible, I would like the part back so I can try to get a refund from the manufacturer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't understand how a company of this size does not have a better process for this and easier ways to contact customer service. The numbers listed for the different departments on the AAA website are not accurate and the "email us" button links to an FAQ page with no option to actually contact someone as far as I can tell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have never written a review and would have rather just spoken with someone from the shop, but there is no easy way to do that, as I described.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in Grandview, it's worth paying a little more at Tom and Jerry or one of the other shops in the area. More upsetting was the print out of what they did to our vehicle was for a different customer with their name, phone number, address, vehicle vin #, all the information right, handed right to us. beside their check in station was a waste paper basket with invoices right there. Great shop and likely going to make this my go to for most repairs and servicing. Make sure to call and set up a time as it's a busy shop. My most recent service was for a coolant system flush, and a brake flush. It was at least half the price of what the dealership quoted. All the technicians at AAA car care plus are ASE-certified which is awesome (and expected) so you are in good hands. I have also bought our car batteries from AAA over the past two years and am a big fan of the warranty. In addition to batteries, oil changes, and car repairs, we got our passport photos here as well. They even offer all types of travel services. Very frustrating that two days after a snow storm- you still can't get scheduled for service. I understand that those stranded on roadways are priority- but to simply deny service to all others in need of services is completely unacceptable. You buy this service for times when your broken down or need help. Roadways have been clear for well over 24 hrs and traffic flow is safe and back to normal. AAA needs to rethink this policy. They've serviced our cars for years. AAA on 3rd is our preferred auto service provider even after we moved away from Grandview. Whether we're getting an oil change, seasonal maintenance or brake repair, the car is always ready when they say it will be. I may be jinxing myself, but we've never had to go back and ask them to fix something that didn't get done correctly the first time. They do have minimal staff on Saturdays (and they'll tell you if they're down to one person working) so don't expect a big job to get done over the weekend. The sales manager, S. Miller, attempted to charge me in excess of $86.00 for an oil change for my BMW. When I questioned the price he said he had to charge extra because my car requires an extra 1 1/2 quarts of oil. I had to show him on the app that the price for an oil change for an AAA member was $44.99 so he was over charging me. He states that they changed their prices two weeks ago but then quickly adjusted my invoice to the correct amount. Once I received my receipt I noticed there was no documentation that they had performed the promised 39 point inspection or topped off my fluids as promised. There was no documentation as to what my tire pressure, tread depth or brake pad thickness were. Terrible experience. Luckily I prevented Mr. Miller from stealing over $30.00 from me. Beware!! I dread taking my car in for maintenance. It's usually inconvenient, super expensive and without fail, there is always something devastating found that needs fixed and wasn't accounted for. This AAA Repair shop has been fantastic the past 2 times I have needed work done. I did have to schedule an appointment a week in advance but they got all the work done in 1 day and the guy at the desk, Steve, was great about calling me with the unexpected repair that needed fixed and an estimate. There were no surprises when I picked up my car and his estimate was spot on. They open early (7:30) so it's easy for me to drop my car off before work and pick it up the next morning. I love that AAA members get 10% off of labor and as I was paying, Steve let me know they had a coupon running for an additional $25 off. Yes, please! My mom buys me a AAA membership every year. Sounds like a crap gift, right? Wrong! Probably the most useful gift you could give a loved one. On a number of occasions my local AAA representative has come forth any day or night to my rescue. It might be something as simple as jumping my car when no one else was around. They've tightened the cables to my battery before because they had come loose. Yes, I've locked my keys in my car while it was running and a AAA representative came promptly to let me back in. But the most glowing experience I've had from AAA happened just recently. I had a flat tire due to a giant screw that I ran over. Someone from AAA came over, took out the screw, and tried to patch the tire for me. Normally they do charge for patching a tire (not all services are free) and it would have cost me something like $12 and some change. But the patch didn't take. So instead he inflated my flat tire and I followed him in my car to the nearest tire store, free of charge. He was really kind and beyond helpful. I'm not sure if all AAA Auto Club members experience the same luck as I do, but from this reviewer they deserve 5 stars. read more

Went up for a routiine oil change and have also had other maintenance and repairs there. They get the highest marks for communication. This is easily the WORST experience I have ever had with car repair. they have ZERO communication skills, tell you they are going to call and then 3 days later you have to call and sit on hold for 15 minutes just to tell you it's still not ready. They have had my car for OVER TWO WEEKS for an alternator. The first one they put in was bad- they didn't even test drive the car when done because the batter light IMMEDIATELY WENT ON. Tried to extort just under $250 for a battery then when we bring in our own they 'forget' to put the battery in the car to get the core deposit back so they can get me to come back for a 'free' oil change. SPEAKING OF THAT, I paid $80 for a diagnostic and these clowns don't note I'm 3k over an oil change and maybe they could mention that in their diagnostic report?! The folks at this AAA facility were exceptionally nice. In fact, they were so nice that that alone sets them at 5 stars. I decided to try out AAA because I'm a member and I was looking for an oil change as well as to get a weird clanking noise checked out. The oil change was quick enough and wasn't much more than you would spend at a Jiffy Lube (my total came to $34). As it turns out, being a member didn't do much for me (I saved $1). They couldn't fix the issue I had with the clanking noise though and couldn't identify the source of the issue. Before I left they said they thought they might have taken care of it, but weren't sure. Nope. Just as bad as ever, which was frustrating given they didn't have much in the way of suggestions for me when I called back in later to ask what my options were. So you can see that I had somewhat of a mixed experience, but overall the oil change went well and they are incredibly nice. I would go back to them for an oil change for sure. read more

They had my car for 12 (TWELVE) days and offered me ZERO accommodations for this ridiculous amount of time to be without transportation. The workers here continually gave me vague answers about when my car would be ready, saying "hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow" on four separate days. They made it so I wouldn't know how long it was actually going to be to keep me from taking my car elsewhere. My bill was $3,500 and they wanted my money. I consistently had to call them to receive updates on the status of my car, as they NEVER called to tell me what was going on. Each time I would call they would tell me another issue came up. Towards the end of the 12 days they even started screening my calls and would only pick up when I dialed *67. DO NOT take your car to their Car Care Plus to have ANY work done unless you want to be overcharged and neglected! Worst service I have ever experienced I hope nobody has to go through what I did at this place. read more

I've been taking my vehicles here for almost a decade. They are always super honest, quick and friendly. In once instance I had a car that had very noisy brakes, and I was convinced that I needed new rotors, calipers, the whole works. They took a look at it, and it turns out that my model of car (crappy ford focus), the noise was common and my brakes were safe and good. Any other shop would have just replaced everything (even though it would be unnecessary) and charged me full price. I haven't gone anywhere else since then! These guys rock! read more

I only needed an oil change before an upcoming road trip, I swear! I've always taken my car to another establishment in Lancaster for my oil changes because they did exactly that - I got an oil change in about 25 minutes, no sales push for other services, no pressure for extras I don't need. The issue with this establishment? Living in Grandview makes it beyond inconvenient to get a quick service before a trip...so I searched for something just as good, but a whole lot closer. Thankfully, I found it at AAA Car Care Plus in Grandview. Using their Triple Play coupon, I was able to get an oil change, tire rotation, and road trip check for $39 completed under an hour. I was notified that my front brakes needed new pads and rotors and Steve was able to schedule me for that repair 48 hours later. I called and added an AC recharge to my scheduled work with no problem. I was given a 3 hour time frame for the work on my car and Jim was in touch with me several times during the process to keep me updated, verify issues, and permit repairs. That may be annoying to some, but I was pleased that I wouldn't be walking into a huge surprise when picking up my car. My car was finished an hour early, I was able to use another coupon (my total was what was quoted to me earlier - no hidden fees or surprises) and another non-safety issue popped up that the mechanic took care of for me free of charge. These gentlemen are fantastic! I can't say enough about the wonderful service I received from AAA CCP-Grandview. They are honest, thorough, and fast. One time my gas gauge was acting up, so I went to Tuffy. They were going to charge me $800. Then I went to AAA Grandview. They told me that I just had to bang on the tank a few times, and BOOM! It was fixed. They didn't charge me a dime. I'll add that it is worth paying the $90 diagnostic fee once in awhile if your check engine light is on. They'll do a complete checkup on the whole car, and won't pressure you into spending a ton of money to fix it. I've been a customer now since 2007 and I'm very happy with the service. read more
