But their interaction with our building maintenance crew proved amicable and efficient.) Bottom line: the job was completed in less than 25 minutes...well under/within their original estimate. What was expected to be a fairly straight forward clog took much more time than planned. They finished late Thursday and the bill came electronically on Friday. I had calculated what to expect given they had 2 plumbers the entire time, 1 plumber for part of the time and the owner for about 2 hours. The bill was about half of what I calculated. They suggested getting hydroscout (this is a high tech service equivalent to a colonoscopy in my field where they use a camera in the sewer pipe and can create a map of the sewer layout) to come out before the remodel so they can redesign the master bathroom sewer pipes (I already have them scheduled). Mark suggested placing a proper 2 way clean out. My wife prefers that I take him up on it so I can move on to other projects. By Monday, Jade had already called to set up the time to place it. Three of them had to come in and out of the house many times but they did not track in dirt or make a mess. Despite the frustration with troubleshooting the previous DIY work, the heat and multiple dead ends trying to clear the blockage, they were always friendly and positive. I really have no suggestions on how they can improve- they have mastered their business.

I asked Roto-Clear to solve s hot water problem I had. They determined that the shower valve was…read morebad, some pipes needed to be replaced, and the external tankless water heater needed to be replaced. They quoted a total price of $3000 and I paid them in cash. They replaced my external tankless water heater with an internal (it should only be mounted inside a house) tanless water heater, fixed the shower valve and decided they did NOT need to do the pipes because that part would be difficult. When I asked for a refund on the pipes, suddenly they became important. I elected not to let them work on the pipes. After several times not having hot water in other parts of the house, I discovered the fact that they had installed a clearly marked Internal Only Tankless water heater outside and they did that improperly as well. When I asked for a refund, they refused. I contacted Okaloosa Gas to install the correct type of tankless water heater. When they came out to make an estimate, they immediately condemned the water heater installed by Roto-Clear as being unsafe and capped it off. The Okaloosa Gas folks installed the correct tankless water heater for $1000 less than Roto-Clear. I returned the Internal Only water heater back to the Roto-Clear office and again asked for a refund. They again refused. Both my wife and I are in our mid 70s and it is clear to me that Roto-Clear just took advantage of us. I am now forced to seek legal remedies and all the hassle that entails. I will do it because it is unfair and inappropriate for me to have to pay for Roto-Clear's negligence. Also, hopefully this might help stop this from happening to some other people. The shower valve does works great...but not $3000 great! Avoid Roto-Clear and save yourself some headaches!

I thought it could be something quickly fixed, but it turned out that the entire unit needed replacing. They were able to get out the very next day in the morning. The plumber, Austin was very nice and thorough. He was great at explaining his recommendations and the differences in the brands. He also was knowledgeable about the various warranties for the tankless water heaters as well as his service. I found him to be friendly and timely. He also provided great communication in regards to when he could obtain the recommended tankless water heater and when he would be out to install it the next day. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their service and my interaction with Austin. He was very helpful in helping me move some items. He also left the work area cleaned and disposed of the old water heater. The old water heater installation was very unorganized so he did put the pipes and everything back on the wall and left them better than they were before. It took him about two hours to install the new tankless water heater. If I have another issue, I will certainly reach out to Emerald Bay Plumbing as I feel like Austin provided good advice and seemed to Reflect a trustworthy spirit of this business.

When they finished installing the water heater, they turned on power to it and sparks flew everywhere. It tripped the breaker feeding power to my entire unit. The Plumber's quickly packed up and left, saying it was not their fault and there was nothing they could do. I had guests checking in mere hours later. I called my Electrician and he quickly came and saw that they had wired the unit incorrectly, causing the breaker to trip. When I confronted them about the issue, they said I would have to take it up with the branch manager, Matt. I spoke with Matt multiple times on different occasions and he assured me that he would care for my electricians emergency service call charge on New Year's Eve. He never followed through on his promise. I escalated the matter to the regional manager, and he too promised the bill would be cared for. They never followed thru. After months of bugging them, they have finally stopped taking my calls. In short, they deliver sub-par work, charge out the nose for it, and do not stand behind their work.
