Not a bad place to catch a donut just don't expect service with a smile. Young lady behind the counter was accommodating but didn't really make me feel like she wanted to be there that day. We have been to Duck Donuts on multiple occasions and have never had such an issue. The kiosk was the only way to order. We stood at the register and no one helped us, so we went to the kiosk to order, only ONE kiosk was open. The kiosk would only accept ONE type of build your own donut so we edited others to our specifications. I warned the manager that they might seem odd and she immediately got angry and frustrated. We could hear her talking negatively about us from behind the counter. It was a busy time, but every Duck Donuts we've ever been to has been as busy or busier. My family ordered a custom dozen. Wait time was around 30-40 minutes after ordering online, which wasn't ideal. However, my husband said they were made fresh per order, so it made it more bearable. My mother-in-law purchased a dozen donuts which my brother-in-law's fam who live in Florida had never had before. They loved it so much we came back two consecutive days after. The shop was bustling when we arrived on a Thursday morning around 9:30am. I can only imagine how busy it gets on the weekend. On Friday morning, there were not people waiting outside the store so I thought it would be a quick to place the order and pick up. However, that was not the case. We placed the order at 9:06 and our donuts were ready around 9:33. It may be best to place the order online unless you want to wait awhile. There are two kiosks to the right to place your order and pay. On Friday morning, the kiosk was glitchy so I placed the order at the counter. To the left of the store is the assembly station and pick up area. They offer donuts as singles, 1/2 dozen, or a dozen. They also serve sandwiches, ice cream, and coffee. Now that we know Duck Donuts is nearby, we will make this an annual visit when we come to SC for our annual summer vacay. read more

Small made-to-order donut shop on the end of a strip mall. I can't imagine it full of children, because even on this mid-afternoon weekday trip, just the few children in there and their indecision made me want to break out in hives! There were a few barstools for eating in. Used the kiosk to order. Went over the more popular flavors they listed, then chose a lemon blueberry, and a maple bacon. Sister ordered a Twix covered and vanilla sprinkle something. The lemon blueberry and the vanilla sprinkle won as our favs, and the other two we would never order again. I think the donuts are $2.50 ea which I thought was a bargain, and they were ready in 5 min. I've never eaten a hot fried donut except a plain Krispy Kreme. Dang, what a treat! Since it was National Donut Day, we were presented with 2 free cinnamon sugar donuts each, which I loved. After the fact, we saw more options displayed if you order by the dozen on the kiosk. These combinations need to be posted on the walls in several places so those of us only ordering a donut or two can see them for ideas. At any rate, great concept, glad we tried it, sugar overload, would do again, and wish they'd bring one to New Orleans, where we love our sugar. read more

Everyone is talking about Duck Donuts. There isn't a location close to my house, I finally got to try them on vacation. The hype is real. These are probably the best donuts I've ever had. They are made fresh in front of you while you wait. They all start with the base donut which is made fresh. You can taste how good the actual donut is without the toppings. That donut is then dipped in and flavored whichever way you choose. They are still warm after you get them. I had Bacon in the Sun. It's maple icing with chopped bacon & salted caramel drizzle. I tried a few others, but that was my favorite. They cost a little more than other competitors, but you get what you pay for. The store was clean and all the employees were friendly and helpful. Stopped in to see what all the hype is about. The donuts looked delish, although we didn't get any. We own a jeep and have been searching high and low for miniature ducks while out of town (#duckduckjeep). To our surprise they have a ton here and are less expensive than Walmart/Target online. Great donuts. Love them, but this location has issues for sure. They are: 1. There's basically no place to sit in here. There's like 3 bar stools. Might as well just be a walk up joint. 2. Drive through was closed the day I went, but a car was parked at the window making it look as though it was open. There was no sign saying the drive through was closed. Why not? Had to back my car up quite a ways and start all over looking for a parking spot. We purposely ordered ahead online so as to avoid having to go in since we were on a tight schedule. 3. No app from which to place an order ahead and their online ordering system is cumbersome and sheepishly slow. Stopped at this place twice during a one week vacation. First time got the Father's Day mix and another mix both of which come with assorted donuts such as maple bacon and other flavor combos. The second time I just got plain donuts with glaze (lemon, cinnamon sugar, strawberry and maple). I much preferred the ones with glaze only as opposed to ones with toppings and drizzles. Here a few tips for those new to Duck Donuts: 1. A dozen will cost you $20 2. The donuts are made to order so you cannot walk in and pick a bunch out of display case, but they do have pre-ordered packs like the Father's Day pack that come with certain flavors determined if you are indecisive. 3. Since they fix them as you order, you can wait a while at busy times, esp. in the AM. If you want then for breakfast, I recommend pre-order online. The staff are super nice and helpful but if you get behind an indecisive person in line, you will be there longer than you expect because there is nothing they can do to move them along. read more

About 2 bucks per donut here after tax, but they are custom made to order with toppings of your own choosing and if they aren't crazy busy, the donut prep dude/dudette will hook you up with some seriously ample toppings. (I know this is not a myrtle beach chain) We had an excellent experience here! We came at about 8-8:30 at night, and the line was almost out the door. The woman at the register was extremely pleasant, especially because the people in front of us waited in like probably 10-15 minutes, got to the register, and said "We have no idea what we want" while ordering for a large group. She was ready and willing to help us decide what we wanted (we were ready before getting to the counter ). It is cool being able to watch the employees get your donuts ready to eat! They keep the area clean for being quick and efficient. We loved the donuts, which are served warm.
