A great place for breakfast if you are in the area. We were staying across from lulu's during our vacation in Myrtle beach so we had to give the place a try. The service was quick and our waiter was very friendly. We ordered banana bread French toast, biscuits and gravy and rise and shine egg platter which came with a side of grits. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were light and fluffy, gravy was delicious, with a little bit of hot sauce on top it was out of this world. Asked the waiter best location to park and she pointed out their parking lot (located on both sides of its building. Essentially, the sandy lots are their lots and not exclusively belong to the hotels next door). We have driven by this cute place so many times and never been able to stop either because of our timing or because it was full!! This trip we finally did and it was so good! The service was wonderful, the vibe was relaxing and nice, there is parking available right on-site (if you're not staying along Ocean Blvd), the food was really good and there's a nice bar! What's not to love?! You can enjoy your meal inside in the comfortable and chic dining room or outside on the cute terrace. Lulu is a cozy little gem with excellent food. It is family-owned and has such a great vibe. I had the chocolate chip pancakes--fluffy and delicious. However, the biscuits and gravy take the cake--easily the best I've had. My husband had the Simply Southern biscuit and gravy with bacon and egg. Sooo gooood! The coffee was strong, the service was super friendly, and the atmosphere made you want to hang out all morning. My friend and I wanted a quick bite before hitting the road to our next location. We waited about 20-30 minutes for an indoor table as it was a very busy Saturday morning. Our waitress suggested the Banana Bread French Toast Breakfast which my friend and I shared. I was happy with the French toast as it was a unique dish to their restaurant. The bread was soft and cooked all the way through. The slices of banana, whip cream and sprinkle of powdered sugar were nice touches adding to the aesthetic. For entrees, I ordered the Big Chicken Biscuit Breakfast with grits and my friend had the 8 oz. Steak and Eggs Breakfast Plate with grits and Fresh Fruit Bowl Breakfast. I was a little disappointed by the chicken sandwich. Even with the gravy, I found it to be dry and taste like any microwaveable gravy purchased in the grocery store. Grits were heavily loaded in butter as expected and topped with some shredded cheddar. After 10 minutes, the butter solidified turning it into a single inedible unit so anticipate to eat it quick! Somehow the hollandaise was not too heavy and had a homey feeling to it. Definitely appreciate the less greasy entree. The crab cake was light and meaty too. Egg was nicely poached and it was a pretty decent dish. 2) The Elvis French toast is bomb provided you like bananas and peanut butter. Lol. What an indulgent dish. Disappointing stuff: 1) We were highly disappointed with the home fries which IMO were stale and hence tasted bad. They might not have been so bad if they were fresh. Lulu's is of the yummiest brunch spots I've been to in a while! Don't be deterred by the fact that they don't do reservations...they have a decent amount of tables (especially if you don't mind sitting inside), so the wait wasn't more than 15 mins. I had the chicken biscuit which was delicious & super filling. The gravy was really flavorful & thick, the chicken was fried perfectly, the biscuits were fluffy & moist, & the fried tomatoes added an extra punch of brightness/acidity. I would definitely recommend getting a side of home fries (anyone who knows me knows I love breakfast potatoes) for dragging through the gravy at the end. The drinks here were also phenomenal. They have tons of fun mimosa flavors (the pink guava was my favorite!) and the bloody mary was also super flavorful, tangy, & garlicky. The service is quick and the servers are friendly, and they didn't rush us out even though we were still finishing up eating technically after they close (they do close at 1:00 so be sure to get in early!). The only negative would be that the ambiance is slightly lacking. The online description stated they had a beachside patio with a live band, neither of which are accurate. Great breakfast about 500 feet from the Breakers and the Courtyard Marriott. Walked the beach that morning so I felt like I deserved the banana bread French toast - it was melt on your tongue good! No syrup needed - please don't cover that deliciousness with syrup. I counted it as my fruit and potassium for the day. My cousin loved her standard breakfast also. Probably my favorite meal I had in Myrtle Beach! From the service to the food, I had a great experience here! Plus, their gravy is CHEFS KISS. The cafe is located on the street parallel to the beach so you could go swimming right after you eat! Parking is FREE in their gravel lot right next to the cafe. What a great brunch spot in Myrtle beach! I ended up having the crab cakes Benedict and it was absolutely divine. They had like ten different kinds of mimosas (my fav was the pear). The wait staff was super attentive and it was super cute and retro inside.
