These are $2.75 per small cake donut with nice toppings. The toppings are the cool stuff and they do add some flavor (especially the maple). But seriously, Firecakes in downtown Naperville is much better imho. And Mariano's has good quality donuts too for much less $$$. But this is a novelty and may or may not not survive repeat customers. When I visited at 6pm the store was a hot mess and employees looked pretty frazzled because orders were stacked up several deep. On a good noted, you know you are getting freshly made / prepared donuts because mine were warm in the box. On a bad note, their app failed and there is NO customer support whatsoever. After downloading the app on my iphone and having my order fail, I decided to come in and order directly. I was told the app should work and went through it with one of the employees only to have it fail in front of them (see picture). They said they couldn't do anything about it and should contact customer service, but guess what? Online Order Support says: If you have any questions on your online order, please contact the specific location for assistance! Were the donuts good, yes but not amazing. Could the experience have been better, yes much much better. Not like crumble cookies. Owners need to be onsite and build a better rapport with customers, keep the store clean and genuinely HELP with these issues. Not sure what the future holds for duck donuts, but hopefully the customer experience will improve to warrant the cost of these donuts. read more

Definitely the typical novelty donut place. They have a great selection of flavors and we loved that they were fresh and made to order. They are a little pricey ($30 for a dozen & OJ) and small. We didn't find the staff overly friendly. The place itself is clean and bright. This seems more of a place to go for special occasion breakfast or when you get a craving for one of their flavors (my favorite was the peanut butter). read more

Went in to order six donuts recently, the woman working saw me come up to the register and just let me stand there. She never came over, so when I got tired of waiting I had to go up to her and ask for help. The blueberry and maple glaze donuts used to be my favorite, but they taste completely different now. Very processed and artificial. More importantly, we found a hair in two of the donuts. Sad that the place has gone down like it has. Won't be back. read more

My husband and I heard about a new donut shop that just opened in Naperville. Looking online, you can see they look very pretty. There is a fairly large assortment of donuts and they have some premade boxes if you aren't sure what you want to get. My husband and I ordered the pre-made donuts, but you make your own if none of the already made options tickle your fancy. Also, some of the donuts are seasonal and they may switch out. Others are "fan favorites" meaning they will be around all year. I tried the Sunrise (lemon/raspberry), Cinnamon Bun, and Coconut Island Bliss. It appears (at least with the donuts we got), they all are the same base donut with different icings and toppings. The base is light and sweet. They are definitely cakey donuts with a fluffy, pillowy texture. You can tell they were freshly made. Even though all three donuts had the same base, the different toppings did enough to make the flavor profile change. The sunrise was my favorite because I love the sweet/tart combination. For being 3.75 a donut they were rather on the small side.. I ordered a vanilla latte as well. This was standard good coffee. Overall, while the donuts were good, I don't know if they were good enough to justify the price. read more

This is a great place! The donuts are made to order and are always fresh. The service is good. Expect a little wait because again, it's made to order. Also, this place is popular so there can be a line on the weekends. Drinks are really good too. This is my new favorite place. Much better than the stale overpriced Firecakes in downtown. I've been to Duck Donuts a few times and always have a good experience. The owners were on site and are really nice. They have some cute merchandise as well. Definitely give them a try! read more

Very small for the price and not that impressive. It's cool to try and they have great options. I'm not really excited to go back, and my box of donuts was all sticky everywhere when we got it. It's fun to try but a $7 donut is a bit high to earn more than a couple visits in my opinion. read more

This place was ok. Nothing to really write home about. Pretty expensive, however they are made to order. But the made to order part is actually a bit of a downfall in my opinion. The time it took for me to order and then wait for them to be baked, then topped was close to 10 minutes. A bit too long. Only one person was "making" the donut flavors. Yet they had like 9 kids on staff cleaning. Would make more sense to have more hands actually making donuts to move orders along more swiftly. I don't see a place like this surviving very long. Also, a bit too many flavors. Made it overwhelming to choose. A great place will offer less because they put time and thought into what they offer. Not just a hundred options that they slop together. The donut itself was not bad tasting, but not sure I like warm donuts topped with cool icings and so forth. Not really a place for my tastes, but best of luck. read more

I ordered 8 donuts which were placed in a box made to hold a dozen which is fine however, there were marks in the box that showed there had been 12 donuts in the box at one point, so it makes me wonder if the box was reused. The donuts were much smaller than I expected considering the price, again I would have looked past it if the donuts had been good. The donuts were very greasy, they were all stuck to the bottom of the box so they fell apart as we tried to remove them. Wow, so many choices which made our decision difficult. Well, we ended up getting a dozen when we were just going to get half a dozen. All were gone by day's end! Donuts were freshly made and hot/warm. You can build your own or just choose from the extensive menu. Chocolate ones were my favorite and there were the Fall seasonal flavors. I didn't think the bacon donuts would be good but my friends loved it. Staff was super friendly! Service was quick despite they were made on demand. Donuts were not super sweet which was good. Also, one kind of stuck to the box. They're pretty chintzy for the price but they did taste good with the exception of the not cooked all the way through feeling. The donuts taste good, I'll admit. The price is ok, not the cheapest but not anything unexpected. But what I really didn't like was the service. When I walked in, an employee at the front and one filling up the napkins both turned to face me, and stared for a moment. I wish they greeted me and made me feel welcome. And when I went up to order, the employee also didn't talk until giving me my total, once again making me feel unwelcome. Would I go here again? Maybe.
