My reasons for the 5 stars. My donuts were freshly made and that made them soft and warm. A warm fresh donut is always better, I microwave my donuts at home. Second reason, you can choose the flavor to dip your donut into. I went with one maple and one peanut butter. They get a bonus for having a maple flavored topping. I hate donuts but we were doing the "touristy" thing on vacation and after dragging my teenage boys through yet another historical venue plus a winery I promised them Duck Donuts. I thought I'd let them get one or two each then we opted for a dozen. OH MY WORLD, I decided to try one even though I'm not a donut fan. Absolutely fantastic. The employee, Braeden, was so helpful and patient with us as new comers. We have 4 more days left here and will stop again. Went here looking for a some good donuts, my father was scared because it was around 3PM and figured all fresh donuts would be gone. When we arrived we were surprised to see they were all custom donuts and made to order. Fresh and tasty. We ordered half a dozen which ended up to be about $7.50, which we were both surprised at the cheap price for specialized donuts. So im not a huge fan of donuts, but when they are good...man they hit the spot. Duck Donuts is going to be a highly missed spot since i live on the West Coast. A friend took me here say i had to try them as they were one of his favorite places growing up in the area. The donuts are made fresh to order and are really hot and thick, they have a different kind of dough that is a lot thicker, but delicious. I got a donut with maple and bacon as a topping, and it was amazing. I really hope i can make it back to this place!!!! but just for the donuts. I also had a breakfast sandwich and coffee...and they came up short. I would probably not try anything else here but the donuts, they get a five star, but as far as the rest I had...ehhh I would pass. read more
