I considered the colonial Williamsburg pancake House to be a must stop every time we visit the area but after our visit this morning I don't think we will return. The staff is friendly but after our food came out we never saw the waitress again to get re-fills for the kids drinks. The manager brought us the check and when I inquired about a refill he informed me it would be an additional charge. After waiting for 30min for the check we didn't feel as if it was worth it and left. The food was ok but lacked seasoning and my son couldn't finish his pancakes because he was waiting for a refill on his drink. For the prices I would expect more, they did have a few larger tables that were taking away from the staffs ability to keep up. Plenty of other places in Williamsburg to try.

My little brother and I came here because we recently heard that Williamsburg was the pancake capital of the world, and this place was the highest rated. It's super quaint inside, and it was packed out for a Tuesday morning when we went. We had to wait about 30 minutes of a table. I got the "Two, Two, and Two" combo with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and the "Very Berry" pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. While the service was friendly and the food wasn't horrible, I think all the hype had me had me feeling like this breakfast was going to be better than it was. Titles like "Pancake Capital of the World" and all the amazing Yelp and Google reviews had my expectations too high. I would definitely come here again and try something else on their menu. Their efficiency and friendliness is enough to draw me back in.

Coffee is great, food was great, I had eggs, sunny side up sunny, not runny & shockingly they came out sunny, not runny, which doesn't happen often. Or in my case ever. I wish the bacon was a little crispier, but that's a personal issue. I also wish the home fries didn't have onions in them. That again is a personal issue. But I do wish they came out hotter. My daughter loved her half of a waffle The waitress Aleyna was GREAT.

There's nothing like waking up to delicious breakfast food. Our hotel breakfast was pretty weak so we came on a Sunday morning but were still seated relatively quickly. Their food is that classic breakfast food which really hit the spot. I got the 2 eggs with home fries and a biscuit and my fiance got the omelet. We also got one pancake each - he got the chocolate chip and I got the apple pie pancake. I absolutely loved that you can get just one pancake, so many places make you get 3 so we don't bother but this was a perfect way to try them out without needing to commit. The food was delicious and the pancake were just right. Our server was very friendly and this place has a nice homey vibe. This was a great way to finish up our Williamsburg trip.

With a touch of Americana and a very, very friendly staff. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere - but don't let that stop you. Worth the trip. It has its own charm (without the hokey stuff) with a nice, relaxing vibe. I had the simple Two, Two, and Two : pancakes eggs and bacon which was perfectly prepared. The Chocolate Chip pancakes were richly flavored. We both loved the fluffy and tasty pancakes. Perfect for families visiting the area.

We had the egg and bacon breakfast with a side of pancakes, also apple pie pancakes and a carafe of fresh coffee. It was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing, everyone was so kind and even they said 35 min wait, we were seated in 20 which we really appreciated. Our order came out hot and quickly and couldn't be more pleased at how wonderful it was. We will be coming again to this lovely, homey and wonderful pancake house!

We came here for breakfast before Busch gardens and it was perfect. The service was friendly and quick, we were able to get a table immediately (around 8am on a Saturday), and the food was great! We ordered the biscuit and gravy, very berry pancakes, and the apple pie pancakes. The biscuits and gravy gave us the "made at your grandmas house" vibe, and it was everything my wife was craving. Our son had the apple pie pancakes with ice cream and he said they were very good, but he would share them next time because they were very sweet. I had the very berry pancakes and a bit of each of theirs--perfect combo! We will be back!

The menu also has so many food options, making it easy to find something for everyone. The food overall was great and very enjoyable. However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

Our food was very good, the poutine was honestly one of the best things I had to eat in a long time. Mixed with the fried egg every bite was genuinely a "perfect bite". Disappointing plus not much in the way of tater tots. They didnt have the doggie menu I saw online which is why I came here but they did make up a beef patty with rice. My dogs ate the beef and played with the rice. And tap water was served which wouldn't have been so bad bit again it was served at room temp which made it taste odd. So much to love about this new discovery besides the fact that it's NOT a Starbucks lol and for those that know me, you know I love and love to support and discover tucked away indie coffee places (see my reviews!). This place is also a roastery and sells their own bean blends. I don't know the history behind the shop and name but was told it is chemistry themed and owned by W&M alum - yassssss! Service is SUPER friendly and excellent so that's a bonus! I lovvvvvvve that the latte menu is chock full of super creative seasonal flavors - so many to choose from!! I stopped by twice while in town and staying just down the street. Had a hot Rose Macaron latte and the next day had the Lemon Bar. Both were DELICIOUS. NOT OVERLY SWEET BUT WITH SUBTLE FLAVORS AND BOLD ESPRESSO TASTE. NOTTTTTT WIMPY WEAK. Both days I had the OG Bacon Egg Cheese sando on an ET bagel that was a decent accompaniment to my seasonal lattes which were clearly the stars of the show. I was there during the week - once mid afternoon, the other day late morning and it was not crowded at all both days. The seating area is HUGE. 2 separate adjacent rooms - walk through the front ordering area and you'll find a large, super cozy and inviting "living room" type space with comfy couches, armchairs, dining tables with chairs and even cubes for studying. Dark and moody vibes. SUPER COZY, RELAXING AND KEPT VERY CLEAN AND TIDY. The other seating area has a bunch of tables and chairs, lots of windows, brighter and more conducive for gathering. I took and posted a bunch of pics and some vids so check them out. So glad to have discovered this coffee spot and gem! Will definitely be back when I visit Williamsburg again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
