The compressor and air handler communicate to achieve this and the Daikin One thermostat is top of the line that displays outside temp and humidity along with indoor temp and humiDoty as the Daikin FIT system is also a dehumidifier. installing this system, as well as maintaining it, is more difficult than a standard AC unit so one wants to ensure they hire a company with extensive experience. That's we we decided on Daikin FIT and Ductmasters. We spoke with several other AC companies who tried to talk us out of the Daikin FIT system and instead tried to sell us the cheapest AC unit in the market, because that's all they knew how to install. Don't fall for the AC guy that tries to sell you on unit price because you will be sorry later. Ductmasters is a professional company that installed an entirely new duct system along with the Daikin system. The crew performed in a manner fitting of top notch commercial installers They arrived in 2 commercial vans and the crew immediately began to work like soldiers. The gutted the old duct system and carted it away. I know others leave it in the driveway for bulk trash pickup. They also brought 2 portable AC units to help cool the house for the 2 days we had no AC. It took them 3 days for the whole job and we couldnt be happier with the quality and performance. I had a million inane questions and concerns; he answered all of them. We narrowed the list to three 5-ton options. The most expensive one was of my choosing, an American Standard unit, and the other two were a Rheem and a GrandAire (which I hadn't heard of before, it's a subsidiary of Carrier). He recommended strongly that I go with the cheapest one, the GrandAire. He was absolutely correct! It saved thousands of dollars, and it works extremely well. He added a new Nest thermostat, as well. I couldn't be happier. The [minimum 2-year] warranty that he backs up his work with has to be one of the best. What started as a routine AC maintenance visit turned into a nightmare. The original techs who came out seemed competent and told us our unit needed to be replaced, which we accepted. The office then quoted us $7,600 for a new unit, and we agreed. During scheduling with Victor, we were very clear about two things: we wanted the same techs back, and we needed them to bring plastic and tarping to protect our apartment. We reminded them about this multiple times. On install day, none of that happened, thanks to Victor's lack of communication. Different techs showed up with no plastic or tarping and had to leave to get it. Then, partway through the install, we noticed the new compressor looked drastically smaller than every other unit in our building. We flagged it to the tech, and only then did he realize it was the wrong type of unit entirely. The office had misquoted us on a unit that wouldn't even work for our apartment. Their fix? A new quote of $12,000. After a lot of pushing back on our end, they brought it down to $8,600 -- still more than we originally agreed to, for a mistake that was entirely theirs. Julie, the office manager, told us we were the ones who provided the incorrect information on the unit needed (not true), despite their tech servicing our unit and communicating the type of new unit to the office. We are not professionals in HVAC. They are supposed to be. Julie also refused to let us speak with anyone above her. Meanwhile, they had already drained the freon from our existing unit and refused to put it back while we waited for the correct unit to come in (we had to call and tell them they left us with no freon -- why would they bother to communicate any solution to us?). We were left without AC for an entire day. Their solution was to either come after business hours for our building (not possible) or give us a portable AC unit that couldn't come close to cooling our apartment. The next day, the correct unit arrived -- but of course, they didn't bring the thermostat we had specifically requested during scheduling (where they told us we could have any thermostat we wanted). When we offered to go buy the thermostat we actually wanted, the office refused to install anything we provided, despite never telling us they didn't have ours and just giving us whatever they had in stock. Again, zero communication. After haggling, they eventually agreed to install ours at no additional cost. Throughout all of this, the office repeatedly told us they'd "make it right" and "make us happy," all while telling us things that weren't true at every turn. This is a deeply untrustworthy company. Save yourself the money, the time, and the stress. Go anywhere else.

SoFlow came on time and the installer was the same guy that initially inspected her old unit. Both gentlemen were very nice and they did a great job taking away the old unit and putting the new unit on a new pad and plumbing in the ducting and drain pipe.
