This rating is for breakfast only as we have never gone for lunch but regularly dine in or pick up breakfast. This place has been around for years and for years they have done breakfast right! They have wonderful bacon and always cook it to perfection. If you order it well-done, you get it well-done. Poached eggs soft, medium or hard-cooked are always as requested. The grits are perfectly cooked and creamy. For something different try the Berry Biscuits. This is innovative and as delicious as it is beautiful (fried biscuits with a slightly creamy pecan syrup and loads of berries). Such a delight!!! Whether dining in or taking out, we have never been disappointed in thirty plus years. Its a cozy little space with friendly, attentive staff. Don't miss!!

The ad for this place popped up in my social media and one look at the menu and I was hooked (dang algorithms ...). We got there a few minutes before they opened and there were already vehicles in the parking lot waiting. Since we were one of the first people there, I snapped a picture of the inside with no customers but it quickly filled up with what looked like local folks. Very cute place and fun decor. Both the hostess and our server were super friendly. My husband ordered the Riley Special, with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a waffle. I ordered the Creole Shrimp and Grit Cakes with a side of avocado slices. He loved the Riley, but maybe could have eaten a little more? He said it was probably enough for a normal person. The quality was great, though. My shrimp & grit cakes were outstanding: perfect sauce and a LOT of shrimp. I was surprised because I have had shrimp plates at other locations that barely have any shrimp at all. FYI though: the avocado slices were $3.50 when added as a side. The menu didn't really say (I don't think), so I was a little surprised. The rest of the menu looked so good, we're talking about going back for lunch one day!

Service was really good! promptly seated and greeted ! we enjoyed the mimosa flight for starters. he had the creole omelette with hash brown casserole. the casserole was a bit dry but omelette was good with a nice cream sauce. i had the special omelette with feta, spinach and tomato. the restaurant was clean with outdoor benches available for seating while you wait. breakfast is served all day.

Last morning at the beach, fam wanted to do brunch before we rolled out and Duck's wound up being the call. Somewhat surprisingly, this was the only spot we had any meaningful trouble getting into all weekend; there was a 25 minute wait at around 11 AM on a Sunday. There's seating outside and a nice loud speaker so no worries about missing your name being called. They were true to form with the wait time, though (right at 25 min) and eventually we got all 9 of us seated. It's a little cramped inside and can get quite loud but the decorations are fun and kitschy. The highlight of the experience for me was the service; everyone we interacted with was incredibly pleasant and working hard and very efficiently. I ordered a breakfast platter that came with eggs, hash browns, bacon and a piece of French toast. Hubs got something somewhat similar -- don't remember what -- but sans French toast/pancake/waffle. I think my mother in law got chicken and waffles and my father in law got some type of steak or pork chop sandwich. That stands out because whatever it was he said he rarely saw it on menus despite loving it. I don't recall what the rest of the group got other than Sis-in-law and baby cousin got some kind of fancy cold brew drink and liked it. The food was fine but I thought mostly unremarkable. The sweet tea was good. My eggs were cooked nicely but my husband's were veryyyy oily and he didn't care for them at all. My bacon was fine but a little underdone for my preferences. I did enjoy my hash browns; nice and super crispy the way I like them. I added bananas to my French toast and really wish I hadn't. The bananas were some of the most unripe bananas I've ever eaten in my life -- hard, bland, almost sour. I scraped them off and just enjoyed the French toast instead. Overall, no huge complaints, but nothing to sing to the skies about either. Pleasant family atmosphere and simple, familiar food; the service was the best part for me! Not a bad option but wouldn't necessarily be my first choice in the future.

We had lunch here. My partner had a shrimp poboy that was good. I had a cowboy burger that was not really great. It was a little salty and the beef did not have a lot of flavor.

Loved it here! It feels like your grandparents decided to convert their home into a diner. Lots of duck decorations! Tables are set up in the main house section and on the two enclosed porches. Bathrooms were clean! Waiters and waitresses were all helpful and attentive! So kind and even gave us suggestions on popular menu items. Banana stuffed French toast was delicious!! It tasted sort of like a cinnamon sugar donut with bananas and foster sauce. It was also topped with pecans. The biscuits were super fluffy and soft on the inside. Hash brown casserole was a favorite for the whole table. You'll see that some of the scrambled eggs were well done, but that was as requested. Best breakfast some of us had all week!

Came here all 3 days we were in town Nice little quaint place, wait staff is great. Food is obviously good! I'm in love with the yogurt parfait and even asked what yogurt they use, they didn't know so I'm super sad about that!!

Great little dive! We stopped here on our way home from our short vacation in Orange Beach. It is a small diner, but with lots of character. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient! The food was pretty yummy too! My husband got the Creole Shrimp & Grit Cakes - DELICIOUS!! I wish I had stepped out of my breakfast comfort zone, but glad I got a bite of his. I got the Duck Special which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 1 slice of French toast. The French toast did not disappoint!! It had a cinnamon flavor that was delicious, wish I had ordered more of the French toast. My daughter got the chicken and waffles and she ate every bite! My son got the steak and eggs and was not disappointed. The orange juice reminded me of the frozen concentrate from a can, but it brought me back to a time long ago. Reminded me of the OJ my mom used to make. Now, the coffee I was a little disappointed in. Didn't have much flavor, just a basic coffee. Serve a better coffee and you've got a PERFECT breakfast diner!! Overall everything was great and I can't wait to go back and try the banana stuffed French toast when we go back to Orange Beach! read more

service bad. table was a mess and not cleaned up. tables are so close you cannot have a conversation, waitress charged my credit card to someone elses bill and my bill both and that has not been cleared up yet after 5 days. owner was rude when it was brought to their attention food was tasteless. local resident wont go back read more

We have eaten here a number of times, always for breakfast. Today we went for lunch. I had a meat and three.... Country fried steak, mashed potatoes, sliced tomatoes, and side salad with house made ranch dressing. I have to say this was the best country fried steak i have ever had, and i've had a lot! I love " meat and three" places, and especially country fried steak... or hamburger steak. Either one is my top choice. You can't go wrong with this place. My wife had fried eggs with bacon... a ton of bacon! She said the eggs were just great! Fruit bowl as her side had the usual, plus pineapple. Our server was Betty... did a great job, and was very warm and personable. The place was kind of empty, but it is just before Memorial Day, and the hordes have not yet descended, and their internet was down, forcing cash only transactions! read more

We enjoyed the atmosphere & decoration of this unique diner. The server was very very friendly and attentive. She kept our coffee refilled. We did think they were a bit overpriced, but that was expected given the location. My wife ordered the French toast , and it was $12, and it did not come with any sides . It was very bland . I ordered the omelette, which was $15 , but was a better value . read more

We walked in on a Monday morning and it was a small crowd. The person greeting at the door acted annoyed to deal with us. She must have been having a bad day. Our waitress on the other hand (I forgot to get her name) was fabulous. She was very attentive. My wife ordered the breakfast hash. She said it was quite good. Her eggs were just as ordered. I had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns. The biscuits were fluffier than I care for, but that is my personal preference, so I'm not holding that against them. Another reviewer said they were Pillsbury frozen biscuits. He is an idiot. I use Pillsbury at home and these are far better. All in all, I would have given 5 stars had we been welcomed with a smile. Might sound like a small thing, but if you are going to be in the hospitality business, you have to hide your true feelings. read more

It was OK but nowhere nearly good enough to ever endure the wait time and long lines that seem to constantly form here of course I'm wanting lunch not breakfast food. There are better and there are worse joints in Orange Beach but few have lines like this place gets so I guess it hits all tje buttons for the breakfast crowd folks which I just ain't. read more

Not too busy so that was nice. It's a busy time of year so the pace was appreciated. Pancakes were a hit and the bacon was cooked to just between wiggly and crispy. The building has a run off outside that really stinks and made me cringe as my kids walked through it. (I carried them on the way out. Otherwise, a good dining experience. read more

A busy place, had to wait about 50 minutes but it was well worth it. We went for breakfast but lunch was being served by the time we sat down. Luck us. We both had the Shrimp and grits cake and boy was it delicious. Great friendly staff. read more

No wait walked in with 6 and got a table straightwaY. Staff was nice and respectful. Our drinks came out quick. Food was amazing our kids who usually order more than they can handle ate almost all of their food. Once we got in the car they all raved about how well the gravy tasted. read more

Can I please get more than 5 stars on this place?!?!! Our waitress Heather was wonderful! So sweet and a great smile! Now to the food, OH MY STARS!!! Any southern person loves to see deep fried..... how about some deep fried biscuits!!! Better than any French toast ever! We got those for an appetizer.... For the main dish, I got the Creole Grit Cakes and Shrimp and the hubs got the Creole Omelette..... cute little building and the wait time was less than 5 minutes to get in the door to a seat! read more

Arrived just before noon on a Sunday. Nice little building on Easy Street. Quaint building and we were promptly seated in the back room. Waitress arrived and brought me milk and water and my wife tea - half and half. She ordered 4 veggies with tea and jalapeño cornbread - all for $7.95. I ordered hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, purple hull peas, and a roll for $9.95. All came out timely. I had to go ask for butter. Food was warm and tasty. We then ordered key lime pie - out!!!! Then ordered banana pudding. It was ok Clean place. Nice ambience for a diner. Server was mostly distracted but good enough. read more

I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

But it was brought with the meal. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a surprise of a small Peppa dew pepper. Blazing red with a little heat and delicious. Haven't seen them in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

Tacos Birra - second or third time for my husband having these here because he likes them so dang much. And a 3 item combo with 2 soft shell corn tacos and a chile rellano. They were kind enough to allow my son to go slightly off menu with a carnitas taco instead of the basic ground beef or chicken and he very much liked it. My chile rellano was quite good as well. And since the chips and salsa always matter to my husband - we also enjoyed these throughout our meal. In fact, I even liked the salsa and don't usually eat it.

Party of 2 on a Sunday about 1130. Had a 40 min wait. People we're called in front of us that got there after us. I questioned it and we were the "next people" in line to be seated. They had 3 hostesses, 4 waitresses and 1 girl cleaning tables. It was not super crowded as we were told a 40 min wait. I saw 7 open tables and 3 seats at the bar. Total tables in the places was about 20. The waitresses were doing a fab job. I asked for napkins as one of the hostesses walked by - the napkins were by the hostess stand 20 feet away from us. We watched him walk by 7 times and never got the napkins. It seemed management had the "it's not my job" Attitude. Since I observe workers and whose doing what it was pretty clear that certain jobs were beneath who. John Taffer would not be happy. Food was average. I have our waitress a hefty tip because she was doing just about everything for everyone. They are lucky to have her. . read more
