    Cajun Mahi Mahi

We got the pimento cheese hushpuppies and they were good, but I couldn't tell you they actually had pimento cheese in them, couldn't taste that at all. The pepper jelly they came with, however, was good. Ordered the cajun mahi mahi which turned out to be cobia as they had no mahi mahi. All good, it was still very tasty and fresh tasting. The grits and collards were amazing. My husband got the jambalaya pasta and that was also delicious! Our server was nice, it just seemed he kept forgetting about us. We had empty water glasses for the remainder of our meal once we finished ours. Hoping that is just a one time thing and we caught him on a bad day. We will definitely be returning for the food, however!

Took the wife and 3 grandkids. I ordered the Mac & cheese with chicken. Was great I would order and eat here again. Wait staff was pleasant and atmosphere was great after a long day in the sun. Would highly recommend.

Came here on a Thursday night. Food served as ordered. Great beer selection and live music if seated outside. Small portions on the sides. Food quality is good. Price point on par for what you pay at the beach.

Luna's is a "Must" if you are in the Orange Beach area. Menu has basic choices and unique choices. I chose the blackened Mahi Mahi as it is one of my favorite proteins and it came with collards (another one of my faves). I asked for the crawfish etouffe to the side, as I wanted to enjoy the flavor of the fish. Dish was amazing to the palette!! Our server was extremely pleasant, attentive and informative. Ambiance was very pleasant with a down to earth, southern feel. I even purchased a Luna's tshirt from their gift shop!! Highly recommend.

Luna's has been one of my main go-to spots on Canal Road for years. I stopped in recently to grab dinner and see some of the new changes they've made to the place. The biggest difference is definitely outside. They really upgraded the outdoor experience with a nice grassy courtyard and a stage for live performances. It is perfect for families now because they added a massive raised sandpit. You can actually sit back in one of the Adirondack chairs or at a picnic table while the kids run around. Inside, the vibe is still that warm Southern hospitality I am used to. As for the food, it is consistent and fresh. You absolutely have to try the pimento cheese hushpuppies because they are amazing. I also love the Tomato Pie. It sounds simple, but it is crazy good year-round. The menu covers all the bases from Nashville Hot Chicken to fresh Gulf seafood and steaks. It makes sense that the food is dialed in since these guys are owned by the same group that runs Cosmo's and Cobalt's. You can tell they know what they are doing. If you are in Orange Beach, this place is a solid choice. It is laid back, the service is friendly, and the food hits the spot. Highly recommended.

First time visiting this establishment, and thought it was great! The service was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has a fun quirky vibe. We had the Creole BBQ Gulf Shrimp as an appetizer, very delicious. I had the fried catfish with an assortment of southern sides. The blueberry pepper jelly is delicious!

We dined here this evening. The bar tender was our server & she was amazing! I had the jambalaya Mac & cheese, it was the best thing I've ordered since being here this trip. Get it, you'll be happy you did! It's that great!! It's a very family oriented restaurant with nice outdoor seating. A lot of parking as well. We will hit this place again before we leave!

My husband and I went to Luna's for a late lunch. We were greeted by a sweet hostess who sat us in the perfect spot on the patio. A beautiful view over the back area. Our server was super sweet and knew what we were going to order for dessert! He ordered filet with blackened shrimp, mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. I ordered catfish, Mac n cheese, cheese grits and corn nuggets. We shared Holy Smokes and it was so good I'm going to be dreaming of it tonight! EVERYTHING was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I sure wished we lived close to this place because we would visit often. The magnolia tree in the back is gorgeous!! We both left saying it was the best all around meal and experience we have had in a long time. Thanks for a great afternoon

I'm in Orange Beach for my birthday weekend and I came up a day earlier than my friends, so I was looking for a good place to celebrate my birthday alone. Luna's seemed like the place to go. It had a good menu, good reviews, so I took a chance and went. Since it was just me, I didn't have a long wait for a table and I was seated within twenty minutes. My friendly server came up and greeted me right away and I ordered a soda to drink and the seafood gumbo to start. The gumbo came out hot and it was flavored well and there was crab, shrimp and okra throughout. Great start. When it came time to order the entree, I had my heart set on the Delmonico Ribeye, but I asked my server whether he would go with that or the Cajun mahi mahi. He recommended the mahi mahi so I forewent my preference and opted for that. As you can see, it came out looking great, but a big bite in, and it tasted extremely fishy. So I nibbled around a bit and ate mostly the grits and greens and decided that it was a miss. I really didn't want to create a whole thing about it, but now I know to go with my gut next time and just get the ribeye. I'd go back again just to give that a try, but overall, great experience, from the friendly manager/hostess who sat me, to the server, selection and ambiance. Definitely a good place to try out thats "off the beating path" when you're in Orange Beach.

I finally got to try the tomato pie! It was delicious. Cup of gumbo was missing chunks of seafood, oh well. The fried pecan pie with ice cream was outstanding and the perfect end to a nice summer meal.

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

I have a few faves like the cheesy mushrooms and the BBQ shrimp, and nowadaya you can't just look at the regular menu. You have to check out their daily specials board because they are constantly knocking it out of the park with creative new dishes and fresh catches. The atmosphere is just even more welcoming, but the outdoor seating is much improved with some sand and stage, perfect for enjoying the coastal breeze. They updated their operating hours too, so they are now open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM. My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.
