We came in expecting a great local diner, but instead were served overpriced, excessively greasy food that wasn't even prepared well. My oldest son ordered breakfast for dinner. The eggs were dry and overcooked, the waffles tasted like the frozen waffles you'd get from a budget hotel continental breakfast, and the bacon was so undercooked it was barely edible. My husband ordered the chicken-fried steak and was shocked by how small the portion was for the price. The flavor was just as disappointing, and he ended up leaving most of it on the plate. My daughter's club sandwich and my turkey Reuben were just mediocre--nothing special and certainly not worth what we paid. The entire restaurant felt like it was charging premium prices for cafeteria-quality food. By the time we left, our bill was around $140 including tip, and I honestly felt like we had completely wasted our money. It was, without question, the worst meal of our vacation. There are far too many excellent restaurants in Gulf Shores to spend your time and money here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is a review of all our dishes at the table from our group. The classic breakfast was good, the biscuit and grits were the favs of this dish. The chicken and waffles Benedict was good other than he wasn't a fan of this particular hollandaise sauce (no judgement everyone makes it different and that's ok). The biscuits and gravy were good! Hashbrowns were on point! We also ordered a Sunliner French Toast for the table, it was good but nothing to rave about. Atmosphere was great (if you don't mind a loud diner)! Cool busy spot! Plenty of seating so don't let the full parking lot scare you away. My party of 6 had a short 5 minute wait. Inside is decorated in a 50's diner theme. The vibes of this place are immaculate for sure. Old school 1950s-style diner, all vintaged out. It is a really awesome place to bring a family/friends just to experience it. However, the food really brought this restaurant down a couple notches. We ordered a bunch of different types of dishes: eggs Benedict, burgers, Reubens, shrimp, all coming to the same conclusion: decent at best. This version is served on top of hash browns instead of having potatoes inside. I like this very much as the potatoes are just a filler usually and it also makes this version easier for those in a low carb diet. The meat was good and not fatty and the peppers, both red and green, were diced quite finely. It did not have too strong a green pepper taste ( which I don't like).
