When a motor burns out in your home's furnace during one of the worst winter cold fronts, it could be a stressful situation. This crew had me up and running the same day. What really impressed me was how patient the techs are with all my questions and how thoroughly they explain your heating and AC system. I called first thing in the morning and Seth showed up about an hour after my call. He diagnosed the problem and tracked down my motor from one of their multiple supply houses. After advising me that either he or another tech would be back before the end of the day to replace the motor, the handoff was to Anthony who arrived to my house much earlier than expected. There wasn't a better feeling than hearing Anthony call in advance and say, "I just finished a call early so figured I would come by and get your heat back" after sitting in a 50 degree house for a few hours. When our 14 year old Lenovo AC died in June we got 4 estimates. We asked all 4 companies to estimates AC only, and full AC and furnace replacement. Always impressed by their responsiveness, class and professionalism. My Nest thermostat went on the fritz. First, they actually walked me through a manual reset free of charge. When the manual reset to my heater (not the nest) didn't work, they came in a few hours. As any homeowner is likely aware searching for and ultimately choosing a specialized contractor can be a daunting task. There seems to be no limit to the list of unscrupulous contractors at every turn. After researching for quite some time I decided to contract Duct Mate To fabricate some custom duct work connections in my finished basement. Pricing was very fair compared to at least three other HVAC contractors I spoke with, and most importantly the quality of the final result was perfect. This was a very difficult transition piece with multiple angles, reductions, and expansions In the main trunk line off of the furnace. There are many variables to consider When changing the dimensions in duct-work that can easily affect the heating and cooling of the entire house including air velocity, air volume, and resistance. Now that the new part is installed and it is getting colder by the day here in New Jersey I can say with confidence that the new Ductwork has not noticeably affected my heat in any way and I now have excellent vertical clearance in my basement! I would recommend them for any heating or cooling job. read more

Joes company did job for me 4,5 years ago and I was weary satisfied with work get done. I even recommended this company to my son 4 days ago when he ran to the motor problem with his AC unit. On the top of that, after my job was completed, and I was away from the country, my tenant ask Joe look at the heating system and Joe took care for not heating properly zone. But, now my new tenant call me with the second floor bulging and first floor water leak. I checked AC unit and find that drain pipe came off the unit ( the whole trim from AC unit to water trap was not glued. It was hold on only by friction) and let the condensate freely flowing to auxiliary pan with overflow safety system installed. Overflow system did not responded and unit did not turned down. On the top of that emergency drain pipe connection to auxiliary pane capered not tight and water was escaping to the wall inside, floor and sealing. It was a Saturday evening and went to Loves and bought piping glue and glued all pieces together. Before glue them together I make the picture of them and on Monday I send pictures to Joes office. To my surprise, when I spoke to Joe, he sad that job is old, and if I would ordered regular yearly service, it would not happen. Not happen what? Yes. I might agree that mechanic might be tested overflow safety, but it tested only with a little of water sprinkled on the wire, but not by fully filling auxiliary pan with water. If this would be done during installation- water leak from the auxiliary pan would be avoided. But my main concern, when I ask Joe to reseal connection of the emergency drain pipe to auxiliary pan, hi sad that it should be a special service call. I think for a such an reputable company with a such good record,- unglued pipe, which was a real cause of the water leak, and as a result of it, my property sustained extensive damages, which I do not claim, by the way should honor simple reseal of the piping connection to prevent future emergency leak. DuctMate did work for us 4 years ago. It was problem from the beginning. Condensing unit was not connected properly. We call them and they fixed problem. But there were other problems that could not be catched up. Technician who did work in our house did not glue the trim from AC unit to a water trap. As a result pipe was disengaged from unit condensing water started to flow into auxiliary pan. Pan became overflowed eventually and water ran thru from the attic to the first floor ceiling and damaged hard wood floor on second floor and ceiling on the first floor. When we call to DuctMate their respond was: "You have to have a service contract with us. We do not fix problems after 4 years" But the problem was from the beginning and DuctMate does not want to admit it. We sent DuctMate pictures of disengaged pipes and dameges. My recommendation: Avoid company who does low quality job and refuses to fix it. read more

My wife and I were looking to hire a local and reputable installer of central air conditioning systems. We met with three separate local air conditioning installers based upon the best online reviews. Duct Mate was one of the three companies we met with. In short, we could not be happier with the quality of products we purchased from Duct Mate and the level of service and professionalism they provided. We definitely made the right choice with Duct Mate. The owner of Duct Mate, Joe, was the person who came out to meet us at our house. He was personable, knowledgeable, and by far the most thorough in explaining how he would go about installing our system. He not only listened to our specific concerns (as to where the ductwork would be hidden, preferred location of vents, and size of units needed per zone), but he also understood our concerns and gave us several options on how to address them. He was ultimately able to answer every question of ours. While Duct Mate was not the cheapest quote we received, we felt most confident moving forward with them and believed that they offered the best value. It also helped that Duct Mate was the only company to assure us that everything would be included in the cost of the work. They explained how they would be available after installation during the warranty period to address any issues. Needless to say, we have had no issues with the system. Throughout the entire period of work, Joe and his team were courteous, professional, and competent. Joe, himself, was literally on his hands and knees at times to take care of the fine detail work. Joe's son and several other workers helped with the installation of our system--and every one of them was as respectful as the other. I will also note that there were no scuffs, scratches, or other damage caused to my home by Duct Mate despite constantly walking and moving of equipment up and down multiple flights of stairs. When Duct Mate's service was done, the systems worked perfectly. The vents were all precisely located and pointed in the correct directions. Any debris left behind was cleaned up, and Duct Mate even came back a few times to help us connect new thermostats to the system. I had Duct Mate install my central air a few years back and it was the best investment I ever made. They did a high effeciency AC for me (I'm very conscious about the enviroment...drive a Prius, use green cleaning products, etc) and I couldn't be happier. Not only is my house set to 68 degrees for the whole summer, but my electric bill has been minimized! Saves the environment and saves me money!!! I was very pleased with my entire experience with Duct Mate. Pat was very helpful over the phone. I just bought a new place so I wanted to have the system looked at to make sure it was running ok. Pat suggested making a seasonal service appt. rather than having an estimate done. I appreciate that she was trying to save me money. She sent the CIO to my building right away. Joe and his son came early and walked me through everything with my heating and ac system. They changed my filter and washed the old one so I had a spare.
