Excellent service from calling and speaking to Bonnie who went above and beyond to assist me giving me options for this busy holiday season. From Diane (reminded me of my Mom with a good ear and willing to listen to your ramblings) who I gave and received my keys . Also John who came out to my car when I thought their still was a dent his words were" lets go take a look" (of course me power walking from Mass Ave and panting must of made me see wrong or at least hazy). Because of a hit and run accident, my car needed a new driver side door. I was unsure of where to go and felt hesitant to use the "recommended" list that my insurance agency provided. However, based upon their yelp reviews, perfect BBB record, and the fact that they are only 2 miles from where I lived, I decided to give Dudley Street Auto Body a try. When I called the shop, I was assisted by James, who immediately put me at ease. I needed the car to be repaired in a rather short amount of time, as i was supposed to travel to Maine in a matter of days. As soon as I arrived, James called in an order for the new door, and assured me that all could be completed within my time frame. He was wonderful in his followup, completed the work Early!, and made sure that i was thrilled with the outcome. Although I used to swear by the Acura dealership, I will probably give more of my business to Dudley's from now on. They were professional, reasonably priced, and provided exceptional customer service.. *for body work, i believe it is cash or check only... so keep that in mind :) read more

Outstanding ! These folks have repaired by 2008 Honda Odyssey twice in it's short (so far) life. The first time was a small dent we were paying for ourselves. Very reasonable and actually came in a little below the estimate. Second time was an insurance repair - someone rear ended me. They fixed the car in exactly 5 days. I was shocked that there wasn't some delay "beyond our control" or something like that. Not only does the car look great again, but they cleaned the car inside and out - shampooed (?) the seats and rugs - no extra charge. I can't believe this repair was this painless. I got into a fairly extensive accident in Brighton, MA and called a few places in the area for the work. They all seemed very short on the phone and disinterested in my situation. I had used Dudley before for a smaller accident and figured I would call even though they were a little farther from my apartment. Without a doubt it was worth it, both times they have been extremely helpful and sympathetic towards my situation. Both accidents were not my fault and had fairly extensive damage (~$10,000 between the 2 accidents). I was able to spend about an hour each time talking to James (owner) who walked me through the process (how insurance works, what to expect, time frames, etc), listened to what I had to say, and also answered all my my questions and concerns. The work they do is also amazing. James knows his stuff and makes sure the parts he receives are acceptable and returns parts that don't meet his standard. The work speaks for itself and looks brand new. I had concerns during this second accident (~$8,500) because it was a very bad accident and I wasn't sure if he would work on it or take it. He accepted the job, gave me a 2 week time frame and took care of everything along the way. This is by far the best auto body to use in the area and highly recommended for any size job. read more

A very satisfying experience in a situation that is always stressful--auto repair. I took my car in after a few collisions with snow banks had ruined the bumper. The manager handled it quickly (I was lucky, I suppose that the shop didn't happen to be busy), had me come back when the parts arrived, and got the car back to me the next day. He also took some money off the estimate because he didn't have to do as much work as he expected. read more

Dudley Street had done good body work for us several years previously so we took our Mazda to them recently for a rear bumper repair. Work was fine, but took several days longer than I was originally told, due to a parts problem. However James never bothered to call me about the delay - or to tell me the car was ready. Apparently at Dudley the onus is now on the customer to call. And when I arrived to pay and pick up - surprise - they wouldn't take a credit card. (No signs anywhere in the office about their no credit card policy. ) So I spent another 45 minutes making a round trip to our bank, and was late for work. How easy would it have been for James to call and let me know my car was finally ready, and explain that I needed to bring a check or cash ? Or for Dudley to simply put up a sign about the credit card policy - so all customers know ? read more

Have brought my car(s) here in the past to have work done and the work was always good, but the place was dark, dirty and the people were not the most friendly. What is different now under new management is the appearance (bright, clean, user friendly) and the professionalism of the management. James is direct, up front, and explains exactly what will be done to your car. I took my 2017 Honda CRV in to repair 3 scratches to the rear side panel. When the vehicle was returned the new paint surface was rough and 'bitty' and also pock marked. I was informed the gel coat needed polishing and would take 20 minutes. After 1.5 hours of a technician power polishing the paint he agreed that not only was the gel coat defective but also the sub coat. They have offered to repaint the panel. While I have little confidence they are capable of a professional job I will let them try and if not pursue a total refund of all costs. read more

Dudley Street Auto Body - A shop you can trust - need I say more? Probably not, yet I really have to. I've had my cars serviced at Dudley for more than 6 years, thankfully not often! So this 5-star review is long overdue, and well deserved. every visit has been a pleasant and satisfying experience. My most recent visit within the last two weeks came as the result of a pole hitting my car. Sort of.... A pole in the middle of a driveway, yeah, right, like you expect that to be there :( For the heck of it, I first took the car to a body shop in Somerville. Seemed like the guy was really making a big deal out of it, became distrustful right away. Said I had to replace the entire door with a new door (I mean I was moving at like 5 MPH?!) I next took the car to my go-to auto body shop near my work. John took a look and commented 'you did a good job'. John too said a new door was in order, and explained that if he took the time to fix the door, it would actually end up costing more than a new door. The door was not badly damaged but was damaged in the worst spots to repair, a body line of the car and the area by the door handle. Didn't look like much, but looks are deceiving. I knew I could trust Dudley and John. They fixed the car, did their usual stellar job, AND charged me $700 less than the first estimate. $700 is a big chunk of change on a repair under $2000. First estimate $2500 John's estimate about $1800 Total $1800 and change When I picked up the car, there was a new annoying vibration on the driver side, so I took it back to John, worrying they might have to take the door off, a big job. John asked to take the car for a ride. When he came back, he announced he had fixed it, just a loose clip -- AND couldn't have been nicer about it. If your car needs body work, you can't go wrong taking it to Dudley. They're as honest as you'll find, do very good work (not bragging but I have two nice vehicles and I care about quality), and will treat you like they value your business. Service with a smile. And today in my mail delivery, a Thank You card from Dudley. Who does THAT? Not any body shop I ever went to. No, thank YOU, Dudley Auto Body. read more

Based on reviews that I have read from others, I took my car here to have the rear bumper replaced because of an accident. I went in yesterday and talked to James who took a look at the car, gave me a thorough analysis of what it would take to repair the bumper and gave me the price to fix it...which was half of what I had been told at other places. I was thinking I would have to wait a few weeks to get in for the repair but James said I could bring the car the next morning and it would be ready for me after work the same day! I show up to get the car (15 minutes after they closed) and James is waiting to show me what they had done. I could not have been more satisfied with the price and the service. I only give Dudley four stars because they are only open Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm and they only accept cash or personal check but rest assured if I need any future bodywork done, I will be going to Dudley! read more

After looking up auto body shops close to my house on Google and then reading the reviews on this site, I decided to give this place a shot. I had bottomed out on a driveway and managed to tear the brackets that held the bumper in. The damage wasn't terrible, I just needed someone to put the bumper back in and mcguyver it so that it would stay put. The first place I took it to said, no, it was broken, I need to order a whole new bumper. The second place I took it to said that they would put it back, but I had to bring it back in 2 days so they could do it. I finally took it to James. He looked at it, explained what happened and explained that I could pay $20 and get new brackets for it and then he put it back together, put a couple screws in to hold it in place and it was done. VERY SIMPLE and that is all I wanted. It took all of 10 min to do. read more

I've been meaning to write this review since last April. A new driver in the family backed in to another car in a supermarket parking lot and made a good dent in our car. Brought my car here for a new bumper after it got destroyed trying to get into an icy driveway. The bumper had previously been repaired by a different shop about a year ago and the work didn't hold up very well, so I thought I would try a new place. I was extremely pleased with the beautiful and careful work done by Dudley Street Auto Body. The work was done promptly and I was very comfortable with the estimation and price for the work. Strange experiences, strange manipulative vibe from James, the office guy and would not recommend this repair shop. Don't think he's aware of customer service let alone phone etiquette. Was told I would be called x5, never received one call. Met James then spoke to him on the phone yet, he never could recall who I was. Was told they could get my car in the following week after they took a look at the car, then when I called (since the guy never followed up as he said) he told me the first they could get the car in was two weeks out. The repairs were minor, yet was told two to three days for the repairs. Got the feeling that even if they would get the car done I wasn't going to get it any sooner, like it was a control thing for this guy. Was told that he would call when the car was done, took a chance and showed up - there was the car sitting in the lot. Noticed that they didn't realign something and they were good about taking care of it on the spot. But also got the sense that I should stay with the car so the car would receive only the realignment that was necessary. Eeks!!! read more
