Too small. Between the staff folding clothes on the table in front of the main entrance to barely being able to get a cart by the dryers there was not good spacing. The staff talks to customers like they are idiots. I was told soap goes in the machine. I guess I looked like I was going to eat it or put it in the coin changer. Staff needs to keep their opinion clothes that are brought in for drop off to themselves as well. The lady working there had had several snide comments about the clothes a customer dropped off and made sure everyone there knew them. read more

I've been coming to Duds & Duds Laundromat regularly since I moved back in November, and I've never had an issue--until today. An Indian man came in and was impatient with me from the start. The moment he arrived, he made a comment about not being able to "step over" so I could put my clothes in the washer because "him and his friend were there first." In reality, I had already started loading my clothes before him--he was still getting change. Fast forward to when my clothes were in the dryer: I stepped away for only about 3-5 minutes after the cycle ended, and this same man took ALL of my clothes out of the dryer without my permission just so he could use it. This wasn't necessary--there were 3 large dryers and over 10 small dryers available. It felt deliberate and unnecessary, especially since he could have used any other machine. To make it worse, the owner/worker seemed to side with him, saying she "asked everyone" whose clothes they were. She knows my face, she knows I come here often, and my clothes are never left sitting more than 5-7 minutes. I'm a woman, and my underwear and personal items were handled by a complete stranger--something that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. When I got home, a few of my jogging pants were still damp, meaning I clearly needed more drying time. This whole situation was avoidable and very disappointing. I like to take my large king size comforters to the laundry mat as they don't fit well into my personal washer/dryer. I've been going to Dud's n Suds for about 4 years now. I learned on my last visit that they are under new managemant. There is always an employee/attendant available to help and the employee there on my last visit was friendly and gave me suggestions on the washers and load sizes. They have various size washer and dryers. They have individual washers, "large load" washers and even HUGE washers that you can wash multiple king size comforters in. I love using the HUGE washer as it's nto too expensive ($6/load) and I can put 2 comforters in there. I also like that they have HUGE dryers. I can put all 3 of my comforters into one huge dryer and it only takes about 30 minutes for them to dry all the way through. They have a change machine at the front which is super helpful, carts/wheeled baskets to move your laundry around in and also tables for folding. I believe they all take in laundry and do it for you for a cost but I have not used that service. The area is always clean which is a MUST! Only thing I don't like is the bathroom is very outdated and looks dirty most of the time - possibly because it's pretty worn. I try to avoid using the restroom here, but when it's a must it'd be nice to feel like its clean. read more

I have ALWAYS loved Duds 'n Suds I first ran across one when I was living in was going to school in Omaha. For me, any place that had a beer tap and some video games was pretty nifty. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not really an arcade-like, full-bar atmosphere like Dave & Busters. It's more like if your family donated their used furniture and TV to a Goodwill, and a laundromat decided to buy it. It's comfortable, but I don't really hang out there when I used to do my laundry there. I've always wanted to, but I never had a beer there either. Anytime I've been there, it didn't look like they were serving, but then again, I never asked. They have a bunch of machines, and I never had to wait to use one. There was a nice collection of double, triple, and quadruple-sized washers, as well as some larger dryers. The prices were standard, and it was nice to know that there is someone on staff there to help out. read more

While traveling for work and unable to use hotel laundry service, I was in need of a place for quick wash and dry that would break the bank. On day 2 of my trip, I decided to give this place a try and I was pleasantly surprised. The location is nothing fancy, strip mall, but it is near an intersection which made getting in and out easy. I walked in to scout before I brought my things in and the attendant greeted me immediately. I was not in need of any assistance, so I returned to the car and brought my things in. For most part, washers are in great shape, easy to operate with plenty of room to load and unload. There are several sizes to fit any wash needs. Couple of peculiar rules about blankets and comforters but nothing noteworthy. There were a couple of machines out of order it they were clearly marked. Location is clean and orderly and just like any laundry I have ever used, it could use some updating. The biggest downside is that it is all coin based. This was definitely better than the place I tried on Day 1 and I will likely be back tomorrow for the same service. read more

Imagine a wife, insisting you ride along to the coin op laundry because the dryer is broken at home. She is trying to make it interesting, so she offers to go to the place that serves beer. Immediately my mind goes to some fancy, high tech laundry with a small bar, flat screens (she did say there was a flat screen TV) and a hope that we can be in and out in just under 2 hours. Instead, I walk into Duds 'n Suds. It's your usual coin op laundry with aged tile floors, broken down machines, a cluttered waiting area with a large box TV (with a "flat" screen), a video game section that is inaccessible thanks to three large boxes of linens waiting for their owners to pick up from drop off service. And the beer, we won't even speak about the beer, as I was afraid to try it. The appearance of the "bar" area was something you might expect out of a college dorm room, but not as fancy. The poster board menu and hand written signs really added to my assumption that the beer was going to be about as delightful as a colon cleanse using razor blades and ammonia. I stayed away. So first impressions aside, it's all about how good the appliances work, right? Well, first off, we had a 30 minute delay on 1 of the 3 washers we used, as it kept stopping and wouldn't finish the wash cycle. It never did get into the spin cycle, so we had to loft dripping wet clothes into a dryer. Then the dryer didn't work. After two full 30 minute cycles the clothes were still wet all the way through. We switched dryers but at this point we had been there 2 hours and counting. Then there was everything else. As I sat in the waiting area, watching Terminator 2 on the "flat screen," I heard a loud noise around the corner behind me. Several customers jumped and immediately looked extremely concerned. As I peaked around the corner, a large air conditioning unit that was suspended by two bars from the ceiling had fallen between the bars, not all the way to the floor, but enough to have swung down and cracked a customer in the head. The attendant got on the phone with the owner, but it was a good hour or so before he ever showed up. And of course, it was Sunday so his repair guy wasn't going to be able to make it out to fix it. After this, it just felt like the place was falling apart. One guy opened the detergent door on the washer right by my chair, and the door went flying off. Someone else was having trouble with another dryer. The detergent machine wouldn't dispense boxes of detergent to another customer. Then the change machine wouldn't give out change to someone. My wife bought a soda from the soda machine and wound up with two sodas (BONUS!) thanks to that machine not working properly. Another washer went down shortly after all of that. Honestly, even without the glitz and glamor of the establishment I had imagined, I could have given this place a decent rating with the right amount of TLC and working machines. But everything was breaking. I was one power cord away from being witness to a man being crushed to death by an AC unit. My 3 loads of laundry ended up taking almost 3 hours to complete. Nothing added up for Duds 'n Suds. My recommendation, washboard and a hair dryer are a better option than this place. read more

I've been coming here for almost 2 years. I go to school at a University about 1.5 hours away, and since I live alone back in St. Louis my family didn't feel it was necessary to buy a new dryer when it went out. So I go here everytime I'm doing laundry over breaks. It's a good place. My first impression was that it's definitely a run down hole. But I got used to it. Most people who go there are friendly. The employees are seniors, so their company has a more homey feel to it. Aside from the fact that it is outdated, it's an overall good place. What I look for in a dry cleaners is a place where I can expect my shirt/suit/pants to get well cleaned, be returned at a reliable time point at a fair price. Unfortunately, after 6 months Suds and Duds did not meet these expectations. Although they offer a fair price, on numerous occasions my clothing was not ready on the day they confirmed. They always had some excuse and never once offered some type of discount for keeping clothes up to a week longer than stated. I did not think that my shirts were well cleaned but kept returning due to the proximity and hope things would improve. On one occasion, they lost a nice pair of dress slacks but then denied all accountability even though they could not figure out what my extra garment was on my receipt. I can't comment on the cost as I havent used a laundry mat in about 16 years but the place was clean enough. I used the large washers and dryers. It was 6.75 for washing and I used 3.25 to dry for 42 minutes. The attendant was helpful. I have 4 stars because the place could use some updating, but it was clean enough. read more

Proper care was not given to a linen jacket. When I dropped it off I said this is linen and please be careful with it. They burned the whole thing- every seam with an iron. They charge twice as much for dry cleaning as everyone else. They did do a good job on regular laundry however... In total I'm in the hole about $150 + grief from my wife. For Dry cleaning and specialty items take them somewhere else. read more

I started using them a few weeks ago when my washer broke. They have always been great, clean, friendly staff. All of the staff knows I can still dry at home so washing a quick load after work at 7:45pm has never been a problem. Today 8/22/2021 they were fully closed by 7:30/7:45pm even though the hours on their door says they are open until 9/9:30pm. I asked for a recommendation from them for a laundry mat that is open later. They referred me to a place that the washers didn't count correct change, have roaches, and on multiple instances according to another patron the dryers have caught on fire and such person has lost stuff due to that. I'm just going to buy some tools off amazon and do my laundry at home, after investing its not that hard to do plus you save money in the long run. Yes it takes some money with purchasing items but its worth it (still cheaper than buying a $1000+ dollar washer, and allows me to save up for it). Its kind of bullshit that they say they are open until 9/9:30pm but close at 7:30. Every other laundry mat I've had to go to due to similar circumstances has been open until midnight or 24 hours and has been just as clean. I drive here instead of using my own apartment's laundromat because it's cheaper, the staff is great, and there's free wifi. I come during weekdays to avoid regular traffic, so I usually only share the whole laundromat with one or two other customers and I never have to wait. The attendant, Gayle, is here every day and of the 6 or 7 times I've come so far, she has helped me with something every single time. If the coin machine is stuck, she stops what she is doing to reboot it or find another way to get me quarters. She knows I come in with my comforter every time, so when she sees me at the door now she immediately checks the biggest washer in the back to let me know if it's empty. She has even suggested when to use warm versus cold (I'm a college student living too far away from mom...). Customer service is definitely worth 5 stars. Thanks Gayle! I had a ton of laundry to do. I got lots of change, and started early. First let me say when a person is not familiar with laundry machines and how they operate, do not ask the staff here. She acted as if I was insulting her. Then came the problem with the coins going in the washer. STUCK. I asked for help and again it was too bad, you figure it out. All toll it amounted to 2.50 lost. Oh,,..and you would think they would want to return it...oh that did not happen. It just sat in the machines as no one had a way to get it out. LOL. Never mind they had a cash register with change that could have refunded me my money. Several broken machines and before you use either the washer of dryer, check for residue. Don't waste your time trying to come here. The facility is not well maintained at all! Over half the machines here are out of order and non-operational!!! The place is very small and very crowded. There are a lot of people here trying to fight for the few remaining machines that do work to do their laundry so be prepared to wait! My advice go somewhere else. I was unable to use my normal laundromat (due to change machine not working) on Saturday evening so I went to Duds N' Suds. I pulled up at about 8:30 pm and started walking towards the building to see what time they closed. The sign said 10:00 pm and as I turned to walk away a woman (not sure if she was the owner or an employee) said, "It's too late to do laundry, You've got to be here by 8:00". I responded "Can I at least use the change machine?" To which she responded, "No, it's for customers only." I refuse to contribute to a business that treats potential customers this way. read more

I will never again to go Duds n' Suds. Not only was the service absolutely horrible, but my comforter was completely faded after I got it back from dry cleaning. Their solution? Bring in the pillow shams and we will ruin for those too...after you pay for it! Owner has absolutely no respect for her customers and I will be sure and tell everyone I know NEVER to go there.
