I didn't know much about Bethel until I met a friend of mine there. we went to the brewery across the street and wanted dinner, it was a Wednesday... they have a pasta special on Wednesdays. You can get it with shrimp with cajun seasoning. it also comes with garlic bread. The staff, at the bar, was very helpful and friendly. This small town bar has all the feels you would expect. Log cabin decor, domestic light beer on draught, country music, and a house full of locals. We stopped in on a Saturday evening to watch a couple friends play. The place was absolutely packed. Being that we aren't regulars we definitely got a few looks upon arrival but our server treated as though we belonged. Slow, but nice. Again, though, the place was packed. I ordered a burger. It wasn't great at all. Frozen, unseasoned patty. Chewy and rubbery. The sour cream on it was SOUR cream. Did love the bread, though. The girlfriend ordered fried shrimp. Came with coleslaw, potato, and a bun for $12.99. Crazy good deal and the shrimp was pretty solid. Overall I wouldn't go back here again just to grab a bite to eat. Been coming here for many years never had a problem always adequate service and a pretty good meal. Tonight,We ordered the marinated ribeye. It came out and had an aroma that was very off...We took one bite and the taste is still in my mouth, we sent it back, not wanting to order anything else there's still a coating in our mouths. brought it to the attention to the manager and told them they have to investigate their temperature of the cooler or they're hygiene. No way should this have been served. We ask for our check as we had two wines. This place is really popular every time we've drive by it's been busy. My husband had a beer, I had water. They came out quickly. The service was good and our server was friendly. Our food was a good temperature and tasted like we thought it would. The hockey game came on just as we were leaving. It wasn't too loud. We ate here last summer and both had burgers and they were great! Decided to head up Hwy 65 today for a roadtrip and stopped in for a St Paddy's day beer, wish we would have ate at the food truck across the street at the brewery. We ordered the pretzel balls that are pictured on the left, I asked the waitress if they come with a cheese dipping sauce or anything and she said no, the cheese in in the middle. They were Extremely overcooked I think to the point that the cheese dried up inside, there was a little but they were very dry and icky! The mushroom were ok but a little on the watery side. Our waitress never came to ask how our food was nor ask if we wanted anything else to drink, once she did stop over I said I would not recommend the pretzels to anyone and we were ready for our bill, had wanted to stay and play a round of bingo but was so unimpressed with the place this time, we just wanted to leave. Perhaps one of the worst meals I have ever had my wife and I ordered prime rib it came out way over done and we both chose med rare. Based upon the Yelp reviews, I wanted to check this place out. It is basically a dive bar in a very small town. We ordered and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. We got burgers, onion rings and tots. The rings and tots were ok, a bit greasy but ok. My burger was awful! I've had better burgers at McDonalds! It was a brown, greasy blob with no flavor. Wondering!! Went for a drink while in the area. After having one drink apiece for the two of us, the waitress took our money and came back with change. It did not appear right and we asked for a printed bill. It showed 1.75 back but only got 1.25. Perhaps this bar automatically cushions whatever tips the waitress gets. It was only fifty cents but at least check your bills if you are not a regular. read more

We drop into the Dugout on occasion for a burger and a couple of drinks. The bartendress is always friendly and efficient, though you have to elbow in with the regulars at the bar to get a drink on a weeknight. Great burgers and sandwiches, typical anything-we-can-deep-fry appetizer list. Always at least a couple of decent beers on tap outside of the MichCoorsBudLite standbys. Haven't made it on the weekend when they have a full entree menu with steaks and whatnot, but might have to give it a shot sometime. If you're in or around this part of the state, you know what to expect - the Dugout does it all just a little bit better. read more

went to to this place for the first time for an event. the staff working our party was great however had to go to the bar for things the staff behind the bar was not interested in my business and it was even more disappointing when I was told it was one of the owners. there was potential for new business but clearly the owners were only interested in their regular customers . I went to the bar and waited over 15 minutes waiting to be acknowledged as I watched not only current people at the bar be served bit also new regulars coming in being waited in and greeted while I was not even being acknowledged of being there... finally walled away after 15 minutes as it was clear my business was not important or needed.....there are other places that want my business and I will go there read more

There's always an excuse, and we really like the food (plus we're right in town), so we'll keep going back, but it seems like when it's slow, the kitchen staff has to get it together a little more. Been to Dugout a couple times and haven't had any major issues in the past. Tried it again after about 6 months and was happy to see that they had changed their menu around since the last time and added pizza. Ordered the Double Cheese pizza to share with my three year old and was very underwhelmed to see that when it arrived it was practically a cheap frozen pizza, this would not have been an issue if they weren't charging $12.99 for it. While the rest of the menu is great and I have not had any issues with any other item I will be staying away from ordering pizza from there. I have been to many bar and grills and usually when they advertise a pizza for that price you get more than a thin frozen pizza that you could of went to Walmart and gotten for under 2.00, just a shame really. The rest of the menu is great though the Philly Cheesesteak, Hotbox Burger, the 16 oz Porterhouse for 14.99, even the kids items all great. Just beware when ordering the pizza! read more

Many people ask where to get the best burger in town. I can tell you, there is nothing in Andover, Blain, Coon Rapids, etc.... that can compare to the Dugout. It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it. We've tried many of the local favorites who tout the best, but none can compare to the dugout. The bar is eh..rustic to say the least, but the burgers are always great. They are not too thick or big, but not too thin or small. They are always cooked to order, come to you nice and juicy, and the buns are always fresh. My favorite is the Mushroom Swiss, but other family members love the California burger. The fries are okay, but the Tots are very good. I've never had a bad meal at the Dugout. To top it off, the staff is friendly and will always have a smile no matter how busy they are. read more
