The captain is dead. The foreshadowing was there as soon as I walked in the door...from the completely missing doorhandle on the men's room...to the paper towel dispenser with a handwritten "Broken" sign on it...should have known better and just left. When you see a place in disrepair... the owners/managers/and sometimes staff are non-verbally telling you ..."We don't give a fuck about our customers." A door handle--maybe $15 at Menards and 10 minutes of time...is that too much to ask? A "broken" towel dispenser... now was it "broken" because a couple of batteries were dead inside of it? That would cost 3 or 4 bucks tops. Course if something is mechanically broken... well fellas... you can go on Angie's list and will never find a paper towel dispenser mechanic. If they are broken- you replace it. Many distributers will give you them for FREE! But why leave it on the wall? Takes you about 5 minutes to remove. But that is trivial and like I said just a clue to bigger issues within this bar/restaurant. The big issue are the flies. Not one or two...but literally HUNDREDS that buzz and disrupt your visit. Now they might try to convince you that flies just wait outside for the opportunity to get out of the hot weather and into the cool air...but that would be a lie. No...its quite OBVIOUS they have a fly infestation going on from lack of cleaning either in the kitchen or the bar. FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST THE SERVERS WERE HANDING OUT FLYSWATTERS AND LAUGHING WHILE DOING SO! I can't even imagine how gross the matts behind the bar... in the kitchen...are. If Chef Ramsey would show up he would be yelling to "SHUT IT DOWN" moments after arriving. If Jon Taffer showed up... he would scream "YOU ARE GONNA KILL SOMEBODY." I mean if you are getting buzzed constantly by flies when you dont have food or beverage around you- whats it really like in the sludge behind the bar...the sewer pipes under the counter...and especially in the kitchen and fridges? I flat out refused to eat as this kind of infestation is so unsanitary and again shows the MANAGEMENT doesnt care about its customers. This WAS A RESPECTABLE HIGH-CLASS BAR ON THE LAKE. Now its a place to avoid unless you want to get sick. And maybe the management wants it to be more of a dive bar than upscale...and I say...if so...EMBRACE THE IDEA! Keep handing out the flyswatters--hell the heavy-set guy at the bar took down at least 50 while we were there...but make it into something fun. My suggestion is to offer discounts that are based on confirmed kills. 10 kills =10% off your bill. 20 kills--20%. Think of how much fun that would be for all...and would save you the cost of calling in an exterminator! Its a win/win situation. read more

We stopped in after a bike ride with almost 20 people. They were quite short staffed but did a great job. I had a nice burger and my partner had a buffalo chicken wrap. The food is good. Our friends had nachos that fed two people. The pizza was also good. We enjoyed the lunch even with the staff situation. read more

We decided to have breakfast here one day because we don't live far from here. They are located in a really pretty area. Our waitress was very attentive. She told us the special as soon as she came over. She went to get our drinks and we decided to order the omelette special. It didn't take long to get our food. It was delicious. N E W. O W N E R S! Hallelujah! I'm so pleased to see the improvements and delightful food now served at this prime location on Long Lake. First of all, the patio has been increased three fold. Simply genius and the stage for live entertainment is perfecto! Absolutely perfect for a giant dance party under the stars. Second of all, the menu has something for everyone. I went with the Quesadilla with BBQ Chicken. No guacamole, too far from the Mexican border I guess! But none was needed. It was delightfully sweet! A very gigantic menu with a fantastic selection. Nicely plated too. Third, inside the building. This huge Banquet hall has been revamped from what was already a super duper new venue. Took out the huge fireplace, which was smart because now it fits more tables. $$$ It is still airy, light filled, and clean. The bar has been expanded to accommodate many more barstools. Went there for my birthday and had my kids and long time friends meet for some happy memories... but that got interrupted by the drunkin "alleged owner" yelling at my children. Went to Back to Captains to celebrate a friend's birthday, as weve done several times in the past. The place was packed and loud, which was expected. We had a table of 8, kids on one end adults at the other. At some point one of the kids apparently decided to throw a fry at one of the other kids, which we hadn't noticed at the time. At the end of our meal, the owner decided to come over and speak rudely to the kids only, As they were at the other end of the table, I simply asked her if she could please let me know what was going on. out of nowhere, I was spoken to VERY rudely, told to "chill", told I was being "hostile", etc. I was in no way rude to anyone, I simply said I hadn't been able to hear what was going on between her and the kids, and could she please let me know what the issue was. Again - it was loud. I did not yell, I did speak slightly louder so she could hear me. I would have gladly had my child pick up the thrown item AND apologize respectfully had she even given us a chance - and yes, he was spoken to about it after leaving the restaurant. After this rude, disrespectful owner's behavior we won't ever be back. Speak to the parents, not the children, and don't treat your customers that way. read more

I always believe in supporting local businesses. This restaurant holds near and dear to my heart. It has had to overcome many adversities since it's opening this past year, however the owner and staff have adjusted and moved forward to provide a positive experience. This a must go to place if you are up in the Bradford Lakes Area. It is off Long Lake in Isanti County, which provides a beautiful environment. They have a pet friendly patio, which one some days includes local entertainment. They offer specials, which they list online daily. These specials provide the opportunity to try different foods you may not have tried. This restaurant has worked hard to become the place it has and for this if I could give it six stars I would. This restaurant is perfect stop if you are out on adventure with your snowmobile or motorcycle. This restaurant is also wheelchair friendly as it is one level with no steps. read more
